Outstanding service by manager Manuel, John and the other lady at the front desk (they made it an amazing experience for my daughters). Rooms were super clean, hotel is very nice (although everything was closed by city ordinance). We loved the place...the only downgrade was the raccoons stealing my daughters marshmallows for the firepit (it was cool to see a raccoon so close but not taking the food...there should be a sign 😅). Overall it was an amazing experience and all of those guys (including Mike at the tennis court were outstanding)

By far the best hotel in half Moon Bay, and also the nicest hotel on the entire Northern California coast. This is a typical Ritz with high end service amazing rooms and views to die for. This place is an amazing hotel and definitely deserves five stars.

Stayed here again for my birthday. Even though everything is very limited by the pandemic, you cannot take away the natural beauty of this location. Plenty of picture opportunities as well as world class golf (which I will be playing next time!). Views from our room were incredible! If you have not been to this resort, it is a must when in the south bay area!

I’ve had the opportunity to stay here two times during the past 8 months and the experience both occasions were wonderful given the circumstances. Both stays we opted for a resort experience for locals. We chose the fire pit suite which was just incredible. There is no view on the California coast via a resort that is this memorable. That’s probably why the movie American Wedding was filmed here. Compared to various other resorts during the pandemic my spouse found the cleanliness very appreciated as a front line worker. The front office staff were mostly welcoming and in fact the wonderful manager even assisted us and dog to our suite with luggage. We didn’t interact with many people besides our neighbors but the head of security (forgot his name) but a kind gentleman in the golf cart did a wonderful job keeping the non guests off the property. The opportunity explore the coast was just amazing and watching the lighthouse at night in the distance was a treat. During pandemic most amenities were not available such as anything besides take out. The menu was fine but we opted for DoorDash and several trips to local drive thru’s. My only gripe was on the first stay they decided to check someone in to the room next door at 1am and the luggage and door slams were disruptive. The front desk people were somewhat empathetic (if that’s what you the reaction) when complaining. We also had some honeymooners blasting jazz music for a few hours above us in the suite but my spouse asked me to tolerate it. (Given the circumstances) Overall, if you have the bucks there’s nothing as beautiful in Northern California and to stay here for a luxury trip is a blessing.

This property has a great reputation as an outstanding resort, and in some ways it is, but as a very seasoned traveler, I was not overly impressed. Do keep in mind I visited during COVID, so my experience may have been better if that hadn't been the case. There was no valet outside when we arrived. We put the car in park and started unloading our luggage from the trunk when the valet appeared. He was polite and offered to help. Check in was quick and we were upgraded to a fire pit room , which are known to be some of their nicest rooms (they only have 7 or 8 of these). The room was spacious and elegantly appointed, but I expected it to be much larger than a standard room. I know the rates for these rooms can be around $1000 so was not blown away. The firepit is very inviting in the evening until you get out the s'mores and start roasting marshmallows. Both nights we were visited by several very aggressive raccoons who were not afraid of us at all! They would not leave, so we were driven inside. So much for the fire pit. Because of Covid, there is only one restaurant open and we ate there one time for dinner. Very expensive, as you'd expect. We each had one drink and an entree (mine was a burger) and the bill was $130 before the tip. We had the rest of our meals in town. The grounds are gorgeous, and the staff are friendly and very well-trained. We rode bikes one day which was fun, but there aren't a lot of places to ride that don't involve riding along the highway to get there. I was also surprised there is not outdoor pool. I know the weather isn't always conducive to sitting by a pool, but I have to believe there are times of the year when it would be nice. Obviously in December we didn't care, but it did surprise me. I'll try it again when Covid is in our past.
