We stayed here for a wedding and the hotel was entirely occupied by the wedding party and guests. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and quiet. The bathroom has a tub only, no real shower, and no shower curtain, so it's a sit-down-to-bathe type of situation, but there was also a communal stand-up shower if that was... More

Wonderful two day stay with my wife. Enrique and the entire staff did a great job. I was very concerned about the bad reviews including the noise issue we experienced nothing out of the ordinary in room 8. Yes, the rooms are small but with a groupon you can't stay at motel 6 for the price paid. Sounds like the... More

Side entrance by garden great takeaway sandwiches fast service and lovely bread, went back a couple of times and very good value. Second visit tried the soup and it was better than a lot of sit down restaurant offerings. Don't be put off if there is queue as they quickly make all the sandwiches to order. Right hand side of... Built in 1906, this authentic, relaxed atmosphere historic hotel is purrrfect for a beach side get away. Yes purrrfect, as pets are welcome here. The housekeeping staff is great with considerate daily cleaning, around your pets needs. Very fun bar for lively music, sports watching and conversation. Excellent deli featuring bread made on the premises. Lovely garden area for enjoying... More

Nice old fashion Wild West style hotel. The rooms are small but that's part of the attraction. We enjoyed our stay BUT..... The first morning we woke up my girlfriend had several "bites" all over her body. We assumed it was a mosquito so no big deal. The second night there were more. A LOT MORE. We came back to... More

My husband says criteria for working here is "I don't care". If you care, you're fired! We enjoyed the staff. They were all pleasant and nice. We truly enjoyed our stay. BUT, don't expect quiet and expect non-traditional conveniences. Normal it is NOT... Priority is the Bar then restaurant then hotel. Their cash cow is: the Bar. The base on... More

I guess that if you like to drink and be part of a party crowd even when you are in your hotel room, you might like this place. We were told we were given the best room but couldn't believe that to be true as we were on the street side which was so noisy from bar patrons and also... More

I don't normally like to write negative reviews, but here goes! (my first in 5 years). I had been to the San Benito 5 years ago and had a reasonable nights stay. I new about the noise in the bar from the first visit, so asked for a room at the back this time.....it was a very quiet monday night... More

I found this place, last minute, when I changed my plans and decided to skip spending the night in Berkeley and travel on to the place where I intended to start my afternoon drive down Hwy 1. I can't recall how I found it--TripAdvisor comes up blank when you use their search function. But I stumbled upon it... and felt... More

San Benito House is located in the center of Half Moon Bay and thus in walking distance to many restaurants, shops, etc. The rooms are over the bar on the first floor. It is an excellent bar, friendly and a good selection of draught beer. It is also excellent in that it is lively, loud, and full of patrons until... More

“DO NOT stay in the romantic suite!!!!!! Stay away from above the bar/restaurant/staircase. Stay on the patio side of hotel best. Room #1 & #2 (#2 room w/large white-wood headboard on website) are fine..... No showers - only clawfoot tubs. No: TV-phone-coffee-drinking glasses-no frills. Website pictures are accurate. Go make some friends but plan on sleeping when you get home. Enjoy the downtown when the traffic is dead locked and not moving for hours.”
