Visited for 2 nights for our 42nd anniversary. We were in the dog friendly cottage #2. It was very clean and cozy with comfy king size bed and nice large bathroom. It is a 25 minute walk in to downtown but we enjoyed stumptown right across street with taco truck daily for dinner. They set out a grab and go breakfast and coffee in the morning. They also set out s’mores by the fire pit at night which was fun. Really like this place and will return soon!
This place was perfect for our little getaway. Totally exceeded expectations. Cozy, super clean, check in was remote and seamless with clear instructions since we arrived after hours, walked into a room with the heater on after a chilly day (super thoughtful). Spotlessly clean, well stocked with amenities, I had a nice hot bath and climbed into the cozy bed with plenty of pillows. Cute little cabin courtyard set up, feels nostalgic, very green outside and close to town. Thank you so much for the lovely experience!
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Cottages on River Road. The grounds were zen-like with plants/flowers in the courtyard. The room was nicely appointed with a fridge and coffee maker (Keurig). Bed was comfy with a lot of pillows! Breakfast was a real treat with grab and go to include coffee/tea, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, keto bars, fruit, hard boiled eggs, and delicious steel-cut oatmeal with additional choices of toppings. The rooms can be noisy on the street side. Parking is also on the street (River Road). There is a washer/dryer/bags of ice in the center building for your convenience. The added bonus is their resident friendly cat who will greet you when you arrive!
My friends and I each had the two bedroom cottage with no kitchen. We did have a coffee machine with coffee and a smal refrigerator. What we felt missing was a small microwave to heat water for tea or other small items like soup, oatmeal etc. They do have a microwave in another building not far from any of the cottages but this is not something you want to do first thing in the morning or late in the evening. The place does provide breakfast in the morning but it still would be nice to have a microwave. During our three day stay we had no wifi. The staff said it was down and tried very hard to fix it but was not able to. I thought that was a big downer since I had work to do. Other then that we were very happy with our stay: the beds were super comfortable, the place was very clean and the staff very helpful and kind. Would recommend this place highly!…
We first became acquainted with Guerneville in a search of great places close to Santa Rosa. We would be in the SR area for a few days for business and wanted to see what Guerneville was all about. We fell in love!! The Cottages on River Road were the perfect setting for our few days in Sonoma Wine Country!! Surrounded by wineries and amazing restaurants, markets, and breweries that have been there for decades, we felt like we entered Heaven. In fact at one point we looked at one another and said "Did we just get to Heaver?" The grounds of The Cottages were pristine, and welcoming with many areas to sit and relax and enjoy the perfect weather! Our room was better than the photos online! Deanne, the manager went above and beyond in every way!! She was so helpful with basic recommendations in and around Guerneville, and went a step further with secrets that made us feel like locals! We were looking at homes while we were there as well and were working with a realtor, but Deanne knew of a couple of homes that our realtor did not know of, and one of them was a property we had seen online and loved! Everyone there was required and gladly complied with COVID precautions and after we left we realized we had not been able to feel that relaxed outside of our home since March!! It truly was a relaxing and rejuvenating stay and we can't wait to get back!!…
We had a great little get-away to Cottages on River Road! The queen kitchen was spacious and well-stocked with all the utensils, kitchen tools, etc that we needed to cook up a nice dinner for the family. The location is fabulous, the pool is a beauty, and the morning grab-and-go breakfast was delicious. The owners were incredibly accommodating. I was also impressed by the measures they've taken in light of COVID - meticulous cleaning, hand sanitizer at the entrance, and face mask enforcement. We will be back!!
This is the best place we have stayed on day 8 of 12 day trip , room is large with a kitchen and your among the trees with outside patio. An absolute gem with an outdoor breakfast , covid proof ,was a great set up. If your this way stop here!!! The staff was super attentive to our late arrival .
I had the chance to stay at The Cottages in February and I was so impressed. Clean, beautiful rooms and extremely friendly staff. Excellent location- just up the road from downtown and across the street from a fun brewpub. The breakfast was delicious and the perfect way to start the day. After going on a hike at nearby Armstrong Redwoods Natural Reserve and enjoying a good meal in town, it was fun to head back to The Cottages and enjoy a fireside s'more in their charming courtyard with other guests. I would say The Cottages makes the perfect basecamp for exploring Guerneville and the surrounding Russian River area. I hope to be back soon.
I stayed at the Cottages on River Road with some friends for a long weekend in February 2020. The Cottages was charming, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. During the day we headed out to hike, toured breweries or wineries and enjoyed all of the local attractions. At night we would stop by the communal fire pit to enjoy a smore, have a drink and chat with other guests. Diann was a great host and served an awesome breakfast. We all enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back in the future!
The room seemed more like modern hotel. No views of river. Small windows. On the freeway. Had to drive to river access. We smelled cigarettes. Pool closed (seasonal). No hot tub. Dog fee too high. Not a place for those seeking memorable views or accessible water fronts.
