My husband and I stayed at the Stavrand to celebrate my birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was relaxing and extra special. Don't miss the delicious s'mores kits! Everything is made in house and absolutely divine. They feature local wines during the evening aperitif. They have a cute lending library and board games to play as well. We stayed in a gorgeous room on the second floor in the Belden House. If you book directly through their website, you can enjoy any two regular-sized minibar items. We appreciated that most of the minibar items where from Sonoma County companies. The shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were also from a Sonoma County company. The property is beautiful and fun to explore. We enjoyed the short walk into town for dinner. Breakfast the next day was delectable.…
We had a lovely weekend at Stavrand. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing weekend. Our room was beautiful and the perfect retreat! Our dinner and breakfasts were delicious!
We had a wonderful long weekend at this lovely inn right outside of Guerneville. We stayed in Armstrong House in a beautiful second-floor room with a fireplace and enormous tub. The bed was soooo comfy, and the balcony looked out over the inner courtyard, which was mostly empty and peaceful in the chilly February evenings. However, I could see during the summer it might be more noisy if a lot of people were out by the fire pits. Everyone seems to mention the included breakfast, so we will also chime in to say it's AMAZING. We had it delivered to our room , but you can go to the dining room as well. We also tried the delicious house-made smores, though didn't have dinner, which is available on the weekends (the menu looked incredible. though). This is a place without coffee in the room, alas, but it's available starting at 6am in Reception. The small, mini-bar fridge was mostly useless, but could store medicine or a few cans of something, if needed. We did our wine-chilling in the ice bucket. Everyone on staff was extremely nice and welcoming. There is a homey, community feeling to the place, a really nice mix of accommodating and friendly without being pretentious. The grounds are beautiful. There is a small pool and good-sized hot tub with loungers, which would be lovely in warmer weather. Though we didn't have our dog with us, we appreciate that the inn is dog-friendly. It's in easy driving distance of wine tasting and outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking, and walkable to downtown Guerneville. It's pricey, but definitely worth it if you are looking for a worry-free weekend away in a gorgeous setting. …
Amazing beautiful boutique hotel located in the lovely area around the Russian river, with delicious breakfast and wonderful staff, highly recommended! Love the design and attention to details. We had great time as a couple looking for a quite getaway weekend, also visited a wonderful local restaurant ‘Hazel’ in Occidental.
Absolutely breathtaking Inn located within the Redwoods! Breakfast every morning was excellent, I highly recommend taking advantage of the dining along with the evening wine in the main building. Every staff member was incredible, they truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect! The roses in the room for our 10 year anniversary is just one example of the superior service we experienced. It was a great location for the nearby wineries and it was so nice to come back to our room with a fireplace and relax! The only downfall which is of no fault to the Inn, the walk to downtown Guerneville wasn’t very pleasant. I’m sure the amount of rain played a part in that. However, there isn’t much to do downtown. A lot of the shops were closed, restaurants were dives and there were a lot of homeless people wandering the streets. It didn’t feel very safe at dark.…
The grounds are amazing. The staff is fantastic. The food is great. It is hard to complain about anything here. Stay here if you can. My room was bigger than my apartment in Mexico City. The fireplaces in the rooms are gas so there is no fire smoke smell in the room. Honestly, great hotel.
Attentive incredible staff wanting to make your stay perfect. Location is quiet and perfect for exploring the area. Guerneville town is walking distance and a nice walk! We had 4 rooms for a family reunion and all the rooms are done beautifully and capture the essence of the area. The coffee bar and food were outstanding as well. We would stay again. NOTE - if you are a light sleeper the rooms in the main building where you check in are very LOUD. You can hear every conversation downstairs as the rooms are above and below the common area where people gather. Quiet hours are 10pm to 8 am but if you are light sleeper I would highly recommend another building. We were in room 10 and asked to be moved after one night. They were able to accommodate us the next day thankfully.
Amazing hospitality! Beautiful, upscale place to stay near Guerneville and central to wineries, the coast, and quaint towns all around the area. The staff was top notch! Our room was beautiful, clean, and homey. An evening wine reception, hosted by the owner, allowed us to chat with other guests by the fire! And dinner at their restaurant is now one of our top favorites ever! I closed my eyes to savor the taste of each course--well worth the price!! We walked all around their property--extremely well-maintained and picturesque! The hotel buildings just make you want to stare at their architecture and beauty! We'll be back!
We had such a lovely stay at the Stavrand this weekend. The views of the redwoods are stunning and the hotel is so charming. The common areas in the Belden house are warm and inviting with a big fireplace, comfy couch, and a lovely solarium with glass from floor to ceiling. It’s Christmas time and they have added all the touches to make it feel like a home in the Belden house. Our first night was in room 1 of the Belden house, which was separate and very private, but also kind of right on the highway. We had a few little issues with the sink and water temperature, but nothing too crazy. Kayla was very understanding, and when she found out we were celebrating my husband’s 40th, they offered us an upgrade to the Cedar tub suites room! This is a much newer building, newer finishes, updated bathroom and shower, and gorgeous views of the redwoods. The cozy fireplace was another lovely touch! We are so grateful they were so generous and kind, thank you Kayla and Ashley! The staff is what makes this place so charming. Everyone is warm, smiling, and so accommodating. Erica served us our first breakfast and we really enjoyed her! They had yummy carrot juice, generous portions of lox, French toast, and it was a served breakfast! So unique! Ashley would welcome us back in the evenings and chatted with us like we were friends. Christopher served us dinner and was very friendly. Dinner/wine pairings were good, but pretty expensive. Overall, such a great experience! We will definitely be back. Thank you all!…
We spent two nights at the Stavrand and could not have enjoyed it more. First, the attention to detail is amazing. The decor of the rooms and the Stavrand overall is lovely. Everything is provided to make sure that you have a pleasant and comfortable stay. The staff is truly friendly and present and seems enthusiastic not only about the Inn itself but in making sure that you have the best possible time. Breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room and the food is amazing. We enjoyed the afternoon wine reception and very much enjoyed the beautiful grounds and pool. The staff was also very helpful in recommending restaurants and tasting rooms and we loved their recommendations. The Stavrand is truly a remarkable place and we look forward to returning again.
