The Boon Hotel is a lovely oasis just outside of downtown Guerneville. The rooms are set around a lovely small pool with comfortable lounge chairs on all sides. On Saturday and Sunday morning, they had free yoga classes by the pool. We had already booked massages and wine tasting, but we could have been happy just sitting by the pool or in the hot tub, as it cooled off later in the day. I think it can be a little noisy at night particularly when it is warmer and people want to keep the sliding glass doors open. Because the place has such a comfortable vibe, I think people can feel like talking into the evening. We had a problem with a noisy neighbor but Russ, the morning manager, dealt with it very quickly and professionally and the next night was great. We thought the breakfasts, that are delivered right to our room, were great. They included tea and coffee, as well as fresh orange juice. I was also really happy with my massage, thanks to my massage therapist Terrie. Our room had a fireplace which we used one evening when it cooled down. They also offer bicycles to use. They are very close to Armstrong Redwoods state preserve if you want to go for a shaded hike. We had fun dinners at Boon eat & drink and at El Barrio. We also had a quick good lunch at Big Bottom Market. So it was an excellent and relaxing weekend treat at Booh Hotel.

boon hotel and spa in just down the road from the Armstrong Woods Park, making it easy to spend days wandering among the huge trees. The hotel is also nestled up against a redwood forest with a walk up into the trees and a grass lawn with furniture for sitting in peace. The hotel rooms are large and comfortable with a nice little wood stove for extra heat and ambiance. The bed and linens are wonderful, and the provided toiletries are special. The staff is exceptional!!! Everyone we had contact with was warm and helpful. We would stay here again.

My 2 friends and I booked 3 nights at the king suite, upgrading a Travelzoo offer. Our needs are simple do the hotel more than fulfilled them. Check-in time is 3 pm, but we arrived at round noon and were allowed early into our room. The hotel seemed empty, because it was so quiet, but we learned that it was actually full. The only time we saw other guests was at the hot tub at night. The room was spacious, clean, minimally furnished with upscale, modern furnishings. It is obvious great attempt is made to anticipate needs, from umbrellas, books, comfy robes, fireplace and logs, Malin Goetz body products (adore the bergamot body wash!) to those lovely soft sheets. The mini fridge was well-stocked. Although we brought and bought a lot of wine and didn’t partake of the honor bar by the pool, we were impressed by how it contained something for everyone. Bring at Reception was so polite and helpful, giving us a tour of the property and giving suggestions for winery visits and dining options. Breakfast, brought to the room on a silver tray, was simple. My only criticism, and it’s a small one, is that the lighting was quite poor. It was an expensive stay despite he Travelzoo offer, over $350 a night.

Was recently here for a wedding and was very much underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, it is OK, but for the price, no way. Rooms are tiny, and dated, with poor lighting. The wedding was nice, but not sure if that was because of the property or the catering. Grounds are nice, pool is OK. Never really saw a lobby, per se. Parking sucks as it is a gravel/dirt lot, so you are covered in dust by the time you make your way to the property. I think people use terms like "quirky" and "ecclectic" to justify the price of the room, but there is much better value elsewhere in the area.

What a wonderful place to stay! I made boon my home-away-from-home while I spent a few days exploring Sonoma County, and it was a delight to wake up to warm biscuits brought directly to my cozy garden-view room and then fall asleep at night with candles glimmering outside my front door. The staff were warm and happy to help with any need, and the adults-only policy means noise stays to a minimum. I loved the poolside honor bar (and the pool too of course!), the beautiful grounds and on-site chickens, the orange bikes available for a quick jaunt into town. Guerneville itself is welcoming too, with a main drag lined with delicious restaurants and fun bars, and from there you have easy access to the beauty of the rugged coast in one direction or the Dry Creek wineries in the other. And the hotel itself is literally just down the road from Armstrong Woods for your ancient redwoods fix. Thank you, boon, I can't wait to go back!
