Rush Creek Lodge at Yosemite earns rave reviews for its cleanliness and well-maintained rooms and grounds, making it a hit with guests appreciating the spotless environment. The lodge's amenities, including various pools and recreational options, are popular, despite some noted limitations such as spotty Wi-Fi. Its prime location near Yosemite appeals to those looking to explore the park. While the atmosphere is often described as cozy with scenic charm, opinions on value and service are divided, with some concerns over dining experiences and occasional lapses in professionalism.

Adventure traveling as a wheelchair user can be a roll of the dice. This is written specifically for people who use a wheelchair. My travel partner is paraplegic.

We stayed in a two bedroom hillside villa. There was a king bed and two twin beds. It would have been perfect for a family but we did enjoy the extra space as a couple. There were two accessible parking spots next to the villa, they were pretty level for transferring in and out of vehicles. The entry had a nice bench with hooks to stage the next day's fun. There was a nice shelving unit for storage. I used it as a makeshift kitchen to prepare granola and yogurt in the morning and sandwiches and snacks for the road. The small refrigerator worked well. It behaved as a normal refrigerator that kept milk cold and did not freeze my food, which is a rare luxury for hotel refrigerators. The sink area was large and separated from the toilet and tub with a sliding door. There was ample space to move between the toilet and the tub. The tub situation was a little tight while showering, but we knew we had signed up for a tub and worked around it. It was not any different than other hotel accessible tubs. The master bedroom area looked out over trees; it was beautiful. There was a couch, coffee table and dresser. Each side of the bed had a table with a lamp and there was a fireplace. The deck had plenty of room to turn and look around, eat at the small table and relax watching the birds play in the trees. It also had small ramps to ease the "bump" of the threshold of the sliding door, a feature I had never seen in a hotel. Thank you Rush Creek.

The resort is built on a mountain side, we knew this going in, it is adventure after all. The road from our villa to and from the restaurant is the wheelchair equivalent to a double black diamond. My partner uses a manual chair, he could not have made it up or down without my assistance. I exercise regularly and was able to assist. You need a physically fit able-bodied person to get a wheelchair up and down the hill. Once down the hill, there are paths and lifts that can get to the other locations. There are accessible rooms at the lodge, they may have a less adventurous path to the restaurant, but they were a traditional hotel room, and we preferred the villa set up.

The restaurant was worth the trip down and up the hill. The menu had a variety of dishes that were freshly crafted. The salmon was delicious, the appetizers were fun and there was a nice variety for all tastes. There have been some posts about cost. The food was incredible based on the location, to move fresh food to that area is a logistical feat in itself, yes, it will cost more. I truly appreciate the effort and happy to pay the surcharge.

I would highly recommend Rush Creek if you are an adventure wheelchair user. It is close to the Yosemite entrance, and we were able to cover all the parts of the park we wanted to see using this location as our base. Yosemite has quite a few paths we were able to roll on that gave a sense of hiking, and a few off-pavement adventures that required a strong person helping to push.

The best part of the hotel is the guest lobby, full of activities to entertain kids and adults: the games, play tables and chill sofas are great to be while waiting for your table at the restaurant or so. Also the heated outdoor pools and play ground are fun for the kids!

I like the room decor, it’s cozy and has a great size.

The location of the hotel is very convenient to visit through the north entrances of Yosemite.

Now the parts that need attention to details:

The rooms don’t have TV and we missed that a lot to connect our streaming device and watch our shows at night.

The breakfast was okay, not delicious, the egg on the buffet was dry and even the ones made to order, the eggs were small, harder than we ordered, the coffee spilled on the cup. The attendants seemed in a rush.

The housekeeping did not pay attention to details, they knew I had a third person in my room and the sofa bed was not done, so I ask for extra linen and I made the bed folded. On the second day, I asked the sofa bed to be unfolded and it was not, when I did myself I found the bed was ready inside, so I left the previous linen on the floor, it was never taken away. I had to ask twice for an extra blanket. The pillows were not arranged on the bed after the first night, the bathroom sink was not wiped after my first night (to be clear, I never left my stuff on their way for cleaning the room). It lacked attention.

The safe was not working, after calling maintenance, they put it back to work but with low battery, so it was not unlocking. I had to call them 3 times until I have full battery and unlocked safe with my stuff inside.

The two L2 eletric car charges from charge point was always unavailable, it would be better to replace providers.

The hotel lodge was absolutely wonderful! The staff were very courteous and helpful. They were very young, but well mannered. The set up was perfect and the lodge rooms were centrally located to the pool, recreation activities and dinning options. The rooms were very accommodating and spacious.

The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Recycling bins in rooms AND they use shower water to maintain landscaping which is much appreciated.

The recreation center was fantastic. We didn’t expect the extensive options available for kids and adults alike. Options include Giant connect four, checkers, bocce ball, pool, shuffleboard, zip lines, play grounds, and more!

Dining facility had a variety of breakfast options that were tasty. Dinner options weren’t very kid friendly. One reason I couldn’t give a 5 star rating (although I really wanted to) is because The dining service was not up to par with the level that the atmosphere would suggest. We had one very great, young male server from Chicago on summer help but all others were not attentive. It took a while to be seated even with reservations.

Another reason for a sub 5 star review is that the beds were truly uncomfortable. Blankets and pillows were cozy and nice, but beds were broken down.

The General store was well stocked and staff friendly and very helpful. A variety of resources available.

We took the “wonders of Yosemite tour” and the experience was above and beyond what we expected. Tyler was knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating to our small group. I highly recommend it! It made our Yosemite visit even better! The lemonade was awesome, you must Ask Tyler for the special treat. Please request it during booking. That tour was 5+++!

For the prices you pay, this is definitely not worth it. The rooms are rundown and in bad need of repair and cleaning. They do not have central heating/AC in the rooms, and their WiFi is practically nonexistent. Also be aware if you are mobility challenged and placed in an upstairs room, there isn't an elevator. Also, you will need to traverse many stairs and steep walkways down to the main area of the resort, as the only parking is by your room. You are stuck eating at their restaurant as nothing is nearby and it is poorly run and has very slow service, with exorbitant pricing. Because they are so close to the park, you don't really have many options, but be prepared for what a stay here is really like.

This is Teri responding on behalf of the team, wondering if you've accidentally posted to the wrong property. We have 2 elevators, extensive ADA-compliant ramps throughout the property, heating and A/C in all rooms, complimentary WiFi throughout the property, dining available in our Tavern, at our poolside BBQ, and at our nearby sister properties Evergreen Lodge and Firefall Ranch. Also, not only are we competitively priced, but we also do not charge hidden resort fees for our many indoor and outdoor amenities throughout the property, complimentary nightly s'mores, and free planning advice at our Recreation Desk.

Excellent in all respects. While not inexpensive this resort is worth the money. It’s clear that the staff are glad to work there. They are friendly, accommodating and go out of their way to make guests happy. We stayed in a lodge king room which was large with a nice view of surrounding trees from our third floor balcony. It was immaculately maintained with daily housekeeping. Furnishings are somewhat spartan. The bathroom is reasonably well lit and shower pressure was good. Internet speed was good. The mattress was comfortable and sheets as are the sheets and pillows. Air conditioning is excellent although a bit noisy. Food quality in the restaurant was very good although menu choices are somewhat limited. Kudos to servers Jesse and Guillermo and manager Efren. The outdoor bbq was ok - brisket and ribs are tasty and reasonably priced although dry after sitting in chafing dishes for an hour. Brianna gave excellent service. Be sure to have their nightly s’mores for dessert! We enjoyed a day long tour and hike from the resort with our guide Tom. He’s well educated, taught us a lot, respects the environment and maintained a pace that was comfortable for both kids and adults. Be prepared for lots of kids at the pool which is expected at this kid friendly resort. Merchandise in their general store is varied and fairly priced. Don’t miss the stargazing offered onsite. It’s led by Aidan and it was fascinating. Final note - Verizon cell service is spotty so phone calls can be a problem. All in all - this place gets a 5/5 rating and we’ll return if we go to Yosemite again.

Beautiful property right outside of Yosemite. We booked 2 rooms, one in main guest lodge for our mother and a 2 bedroom villa, a bit of a walk away. Both were clean, spacious.
It snowed the first night of our stay, they did a great job of immediately clearing roadways in the property. We booked a tour of Yosemite Valley through the hotel and it was wonderful and very convenient. Spa services and amenities - fabulous. Beautiful pool and lots of activities for kids.
Cons: No housekeeping service on our first full day and the 2nd day had to keep asking, but they eventually came. Restaurant is not good at all. You need a reservation and even with one it’s very slow service and mediocre food. No room service option. We opted for grab and go from General Store for breakfast and lunch.

This is our second year back and we really enjoyed everything.

Check in improved a lot, Isaac was very professional and accommodating when checking in. Also Kevin was awesome too. This has been a great change since last year, where the receptionists were just rude and unprofessional.

Our room had everything we needed. Like other reviewers mentioned, I do think the house keeping can do some attention to details. There were stains on the walls and bathroom was not as clean as expected. We also needed some shower gel and I opened up the lid for house keeping to check. When we returned, it was still left on the floor untouched.

The pool area was awesome, the towels are so soft and it's always replenished. From morning to our hike back from Yosemite, it's just a treat to have the pool and the spa available. It can get crowded, but we always managed to find a few chairs. We loved the poolside buffet nightly. Not much option around the area for food, this was what we did nightly.

The location to Yosemite was about 40 minutes drive with no traffic in the morning. Hetch Hetchy is about the same distance too.

Overall, this has become our annual summer trip. Looking forward for improvements and coming back again.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The location and amenities are great, our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Every detail had been tended to. They have a great gift shop and general store, we enjoyed all of our meals, and we very much appreciated use of the laundry room. Photos posted by travelers online, and even their own website, just dont do the property justice.

A stunning timbered resort-style hotel set back from the main road in the forest. Rush Creek is only a couple of miles from the park gate, which makes it a little easier to get ahead of the crowds when busy.

Rooms are a nice size compared to the usual US standard, and very comfy with good storage for bags etc.

The resort facilities are great. A few highlights...nice pool, large jacuzzi, games room, spa for days of inclement weather, trails, fire pits, playgrounds, well-stocked shop and more. The spa allows families with children for limited periods, which was nice from our perspective on a rainy day. The kids also enjoyed the free s'more kits for use on the fire pits. We recommend paying to do the stargazing activity.

Bar and restaurants are nice. The menu isn't huge, but adults and kids all found something to eat. They also put on regular themed hot buffets, which were tasty and good value. It's worth noting that there are no other catering facilities within walking distance, so it is a case of eating at the hotel or driving somewhere.

The staff are all very friendly and professional. The staff in the bar and restaurant, and the staff on the activities desk are worth singling out for their friendliness.

Highly recommended, particularly for families. Thanks to all the staff for a great stay last year!

I know staff shortages are present across the board but I do think you guys fall short with price tag vs service. For spending 1800, we took our luggage to our room, which could definitely use some love, scuff baseboards, dirty walls, very uncomfortable and what felt like old spring mattresses, and pillows with zero support or comfort. We asked to change our room as we were put in a “forest view” basically the service road corner… it happened but it took some effort. Changing rooms on the second day meaning packing everything up and unpacking everything twice, it was worth it for the pool view though and I do understand our choice to do so. Second, the service at the restaurant, being in the service industry there was just marks they missed. When you have a returning costumer for a week.. after the first, second night you should be somewhat friendly and remindful of them, there wasn’t many warm faces at the bar top. That being said the wait times were also very long, on our last evening we ordered take out- a Caesar salad and fried cauliflower and it took over an hour. After checking on the meal twice.. by luck it was ready on the last try.. but no sorry it took so long we are short staff or backed up, whatever the case may be. Lastly, the house keeping, when we checked in it almost seemed like they tried to detour us from wanting our room clean, but again for being somewhere for a week, spending $$$, and hiking all day, it’s nice to come back to a clean bed, towels and room. We had our room cleaned only the first night then we went down and told them we didn’t want them to anymore, they took dirty towels in the floor and rehung them up didn’t change the bed sheets so I’m not exactly sure what that service entails. We hate to complain, and that’s why we didn’t. We didn’t come to anyone there for any of these things but I think if you guys Should hear it. We talked to other guest who had very similar opinions to ours. I do think expectations change @ $400/night.
