Staying here was probably one of the best decisions we made while visiting Yosemite for the holiday weekend. This intimate cabin homey all our needs and was a good distance between a town and Yosemite. I highly recommend staying on this beautiful property.

Raj at Yosemite West Gate and Inn at Sugar Pine Ranch saved the day when we had a problem with our AirBnB late in the evening. He went out of his way to make sure we had an accommodation even though it was late and he was fully booked at YWG. The cabin at Sugar Pine Ranch was cute and comfortable and gave us a feeling of being away from it all! The coffee maker, water bottles and toiletries provided were a great amenity and the bed was comfortable. The star-gazing from just outside our door was wonderful! Many thanks to Raj for his kindness and we will hopefully be back and/or send friends and family his way.

+1
Me and my friends stayed at the Inn during our visit to Yosemite this Feb at the Family cottage. The experience was surreal to say the least. The cottage is well situated within the woods and has a vintage rustic vibe to it. The best of it all though, was the star gazing we got to do during the night. It was just too magical - we’ve experienced nothing like that before. The swimming pool (though we did not get a chance to use it) was well placed between the woods.

We spent one night in a cottage at Sugar Pine Ranch on our way to Yosemite. The innkeepers, Craig and Elaine, are knowledgeable, gracious, and utterly charming! They gave us lots of useful sight-seeing advice, plus hugs from Elaine. A really lovely couple.
Our cottage was clean and cozy. Guests are provided soft terry robes and luxury L'Occitane bath products, an unexpected elegant touch in this rustic setting.
We got a good night's sleep in our room and enjoyed our stay, and if we're ever passing through again, we will come back! The only thing missing was our morning coffee; we had to drive into town for that. Coffee makers in the rooms or coffee available somewhere on the premises would be a welcome convenience. But it wasn't a big deal. LOVE this place.

I can't say enough great things about this lovely place!! Having to book a hotel close to Yosemite at the very last minute, I can't believe I found this place, what a gem. The entire family is fantastic, so attentive to guests and their needs. The cottage was perfect, there was even a grill to cook food on that we bought at the grocery store, and the owner's breakfast delivery every morning was lovely. I would have stayed longer if I could have!!!! A great place to relax!!

It is important to know what Sugar Pine Ranch is prior to booking a cabin here. This is not a luxury hotel with high end room service. This is a smaller facility located on Highway 120 just east of Groveland (northwest corner of Yosemite) that is about a 20-25 minute drive to the northwest entrance to Yosemite. There are 5 stand-alone cabins and about 3-4 more hotel room like places in another building.
We stayed in the largest cabin, which can hold up to 4 people comfortably, a fifth would be crowded. There was a bathroom situated between two bedrooms, with the walkthrough in the bathroom to both bedrooms. A little odd layout but it worked. The cabin was spotless/clean, the beds were comfortable, and the two bedrooms had window air conditioners, which was needed in near 90 degree daytime temperatures. The bathroom was a little tight, the toilet was too close to the sink, but that was part of the quirkiness. The high end soap and shampoo was a nice touch. With separate cabins we didn't hear any of the neighbors, but Highway 120 is a short distance away and car noise was noticeable, however, with the AC units running we didn't hear anything.
The morning breakfast was perfect to get the day going, and they deliver it to your room at either 7 am, 8 am, or 9 am. Its not a hot breakfast.
The most un-expected part of the stay was heading up the hill to an extremely large and well maintained swimming pool. Seemed way to big for a facility of this size, but after a day of hiking in Yosemite, it was a great way to end the day. Note there is no hot tub.
Lastly, the family that runs the ranch are extremely nice and and you can tell that they take great pride in their business.

We stayed a couple nights as part of our time traveling. It was to be our stop over to visit Yosemite National Park. A lot of rain in that area last few months. Owner called a few day before our trip to let us know, getting to Yosemite would take longer due to a bridge being repaired. West entrance was closed on Hwy 120. Accommodations were nice. Being small but all you need. Gas fireplace kept the chill away, comfy bed. Owners were very pleasant and helpful,
