Main advantage of this hotel is its proximity to Yosemite - about 30 mins to the Park gate, an hour to the Valley floor.

We stayed at a Queen Deluxe room. Room was clean and nicely furnished. Finishing was new and well maintained, beds were comfortable. Overall size about averag

We stayed here after two days in Yosemite National Park and before heading north to the wine country in late October.

Our room was large and comfortable and was very clean.

The temperature had started to cool off and we were especially happy to use the hot tub after a long day

We are thinking of doing El Portal for one night then Mammoth Lakes for another before heading down to Vegas. Does that sound feasible?
hi we made the way from west gate lodge to mammoth lakes in 1 day' including climbing to Lambert dome (about 3 hours walk). it its feasible. tas for the road from mammoth lakes to Vegas. its a long drive with not too much to do on the way. we visited death valley which was nice but very hot on July.

Hi, I am planning a visit to Yosemite NP in May 2018. I do not have my own transport and will be depending on public transport or Uber. Is this lodge suitable?
I do not recall any public transportation being available at or near the Westgate Lodge. If I were you - I'd call the lodge directly and ask them what's available. Good Luck. - Ed

I'll need To work during my trip... Where can I connect my laptop to an Internet connection?
I don't think you will be able to work properly. The hotel where we stayed, did not have an internet connection. They will allow you to use their PC in the lobby but only for checking flights and email but can't surf. Hope this helps

what's the best way to see Yosemite in 1-2 day?
If you have only 1 day. drive the valley loop. short hike to lower Yosemite falls, short hike to mirror lake on the north side of the creek, visit Ahwahnee hotel. If you have 2 days, there are a number of other hikes that are excellent. If Tioga Pass road is open, it's a must see drive. Avoid July and August if you ca. It is a spectacular place to visit, no matter what time of the year.

what's the best way to see a lot of Yosemite during a 1-2 day visit?
To get the most on a short visit is to stay in the valley. The guided tour of the valley loop is fabulous. We also loved the bus service to hop around to several different stops in the valley.
