We have just spent a month touring the national parks of California and Sunset Inn nd Yosemite was one of the highllights. Really loved everything about Sunset Inn. Stayed in Sugar Pine Cottage. The owners had made it very comfortable and homely. We were met by the son of the owner who offered us wonderful fresh eggs off the farm.... More

If you want a quiet, cozy, and comfortable setting to rest your head after a long-day's hike exploring the sheer granite rock walls and Giant Sequoias of Yosemite National Park -- this is the spot for you!! Hosts, Lauren and Bill Nickell have done a beautiful job of establishing and maintaining three lovely cabins at the Sunset Inn. We stayed... More

The Sunset Inn's Larkspur Cabin did have all amenities of a great hotel (free high speed Internet!!!), however, no TV to disturb the sound of the surrounding nature. And this is very nice for a change! This relaxing place is situated far away from noisy roads, fastfood restaurants and still close to the entrance of the Yosemite National Park. Great... More

The location of this cabins in the quiet forest in the property of Lauren and Bill is fantastic! The cabin was very cosy and well-equiped for the stay of a couple. Because outside it was chilly, the woodstove was perfect to romantically warm the place, and more fun than to turn on the gas heater! It was a pitty that... More

My husband and I desperately needed a break. We normally camp out, but Yosemite in the springtime is muddy, snowy, and we just wanted good sleep and yummy warm dinners: an affordable, cozy cabin with a kitchen was what we wanted. An affordable, cozy cabin with a well-stocked kitchen a few minutes from the west entrance to Yosemite was what... More

Charming Sugar Pine Cabin was our "home base" to explore Yosemite National Park in late September 2010. Despite the amazing and breathtaking experiences provided by Yosemite, we had to tear ourselves away every morning, as we were tempted to stay in the cabin all day to enjoy its cozy warmth! We salute Lauren's gracious welcome, precious advice for exploring Yosemite... More

We stayed here for leg one of our honeymoon. The location was perfect for our daily access to the park to do various hikes. The proprietors Lauren and Bill were very helpful, giving us advice about what to go do and see, as well as places that were "off the beaten path" which proved to be invaluable after our first... We stayed at Sunset Inn for just a night, but it was perfect. It is located about 25 miles from the Yosemite valley, far enough from the highway and right inside the forest. The cabins are elegant, small but cozy and fully equipped, and have a deck. The grounds of the inn are vast, dotted with interesting artifacts, and there... More

We stayed here over the holiday weekend in February to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Normally I would have booked the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls in the Valley, but they were booked solid. I really don’t like the long drive into and out of the park every morning and evening so I was bummed we were staying outside the park.... More
