    Evergreen exceptional in every way
More than just a place to stay, Evergreen Lodge is a destination itself. Every aspect is well thought out. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The grounds are well laid out and you feel at home among the trees and wonderful atmosphere. The food is excellent and reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. It’s right outside Yosemite and they offer great advice on your visit to the park. The evening campfires and s’mores were a great touch to cap off the day.

So sad we could only stay one night...
We only stayed one night, wish we could have stayed longer. Traveling from San Francisco we drove in and at night we didn't realize until day time the majestic views around you. Tired from a full day we got there about 945pm, I had left a note upon booking that we were a late check in and when we walked in knew our name and were expecting us. We took our luggage to this cozy cabin that added to the ambiance of the forrest around you. Very clean, no tv which was nice for a change, had an old style heater which added extra homey feeling. They told us about the tavern onsite which closed at 10pm we had about 7 mins at this point but after the long day we could definitely use a night cap. Earlier I had popped in for directions to reception desk and they were very welcoming so I thought lets just try. We walked in chairs were put up etc and said we knew they were closing but asked if she mind we have a drink if it wasn't to much trouble. There was only 2 other people there and she said of course she knew we had just got in and helped us promptly. They had a full bar with local selections which I love. She actually let us have a few and we had a nice conversation with her and another employee there. They recommended us go to the rec. Ctr in the morning so they can give us key points to visit since our stay was brief which we did do and was well worth. We had breakfast at the restaurant on site was unexpected such nice staff and not your average breakfast. Not only tasted good but put effort in presentation which we are foodies so we appreciate the effort, and price was very reasonable. We will definitely go back and stay longer and take advantage of the trails they have from the lodge there, their pool, hot tub, nicely lit outdoor area, pool and shuffleboard, and even a massage! We thank you for such a memorable stay and look forward to returning in the future. We will definitely recommend to anyone heading to Yosemite.
Hi Melissa R, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to post a stellar review. We are happy to hear about the great experiences you had here at Evergreen lodge. We are especially glad to hear how our team was able to make your late arrival a welcoming experience with great food and lasting memories. We are happy to have you as part of our Evergreen family and look forward to your return for more great times in Yosemite! David and the Evergreen team

    Very family friendly.
The 15 minute drive down Evergreen Road to reach the resort is very uncomfortable. That drive alone would cause us to give up the cabin accommodations and beautiful trees to stay at the more modern Rush Creek Lodge. EL is very family friendly though needs some repair on the grounds and on that horrible road. Our cabin was spacious though if you plan to use the air conditioner bring ear plugs for a good night sleep. They have daily housekeeping to remove garbage and tidy the beds. The trees and cabins and play ateas create a beautiful atmosphere.

We stayed at Evergreen Lodge with our daughter, son-in-law and 9 yr old grandson in September to visit Yosemite. We all loved the lodge and wished we could have stayed longer. We were in two king deluxe cabins which were spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. The resort and the cabins were designed perfectly--great lighting, lovely bath products, hooks and lamps in the right places, nice storage space and great amenities (Keurig coffeemaker, Alexa device, aircon, gas stove, ceiling fan). We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and had excellent drinks at the bar. Menu choices were good, portions large and food quality was great. The general store was very convenient for coffee and muffin to go in the morning and deli options for picnics. Staff members were very friendly and helpful and provided great advice about Yosemite hikes. Our grandson loved the pool and all the kid activities available, from pool table to giant chess set to zipline. Mid-September was a perfect time to visit since the weather was sunny, 70's in day and upper 50's at night, no traffic jams in park. It took an hour to drive into Yosemite Village but we also enjoyed hikes closer to lodge (Carlon Falls and Hetch Hetchy). We're fairly picky people and seasoned travelers but had no complaints about the Evergreen Lodge. We will absolutely stay there again next time we visit Yosemite and have already recommended it to family and friends for their vacations.

We had a great stay here with family. We had two toddlers with us and they were kept entertained by the kids' play area in the games' room, the kids' library and the playground, in addition to the big grounds to run around in. Initially we were looking for accommodation inside Yosemite but it worked out really well staying here because of the kids and also the service was great. The only thing is you have to book for breakfast, lunch and dinner and so if you're with kids make sure to bring their special snacks/ meals. Although they were very accommodating and provided us with high chairs as well. There is a shop which is super convenient and you can get a lot of things there - coffee, snacks, drinks etc (we had bagels and cream cheese for dinner a couple times!). The staff are really nice and friendly and it's a nice touch that you get s'mores for free which you make around the campfire. This was fun because we also got to chat to other people and hear their stories. Definitely recommend the star-gazing at night as they have an incredible telescope and it's so worth it. It's only a short drive to Yosemite national park so worth staying here if you're planning to explore it. We got a family cabin which was perfect for 4 adults and 2 little ones.

We spent 7 days of our vacation here! What a gem! It's a perfect place to stay if you plan to visit Bass Lake and Yosemite. The amount of detail and care that goes into the Evergreen Haus is evident the moment you walk in the doors. The rooms are beautiful and beds are comfortable, the hosts are beyond gracious and offer great trail suggestions and detailed maps. They have a beautiful great room for movie watching, a cool popcorn maker and a full self-service kitchen. Outside offers beautiful views and plenty of seating on the deck. There is a large trampoline for the kiddies too! Couldn't recommend this place more. Just go!

What a wonderful place in the woods to enjoy a few of days of peace and quiet. There are lots of activities if you choose, a restaurant and tavern, and even more to do during the summer there. September was perfect for us and a great place to stay while exploring the less visited areas of Yosemite. We stayed in a cabin in the Dogwood area, and the decor and amenities were perfect. It’s a little “off the grid” but that’s part of the charm. Highly recommend!

We arrived in evergreen in the late evening and the stars were beautiful. Very convenient check in and easy route to locate our tent! Parking was also very accessible. The restaurant and shop at evergreen are both brilliant and have everything you need. My friend and I had a wonderful stay and would like to give a shout to the rec team! Especially Ali and Chelsea, they were great! And finally a shout out to our favorite server Danny, great guy :)

Great food, staff, activities, and amenities. An amazing place for all ages! We were a group of 45 adults and kids. The Saturday night BBQ was great and they even had a live band! The play areas were perfect for all the little kids and the recreations rooms provided space for many activities!

We stayed in a Vintage cabin. It was cozy, but very comfortable, had plenty of storage space and all the amenities we wanted. We dined at the Lodge both nights of our stay and the food/service/prices were what we expected. We didn't want to do the work to plan our own exploration of Yosemite, so we took the Wonders of Yosemite Tour. Emily was our guide and we couldn't be happier with our decision to leave the planning and driving to her. The tour allowed us to enjoy the highlights of the park without worrying about logistics. We did our (easy) hike to the Giant Sequoias in the morning before it got hot, had lunch at an uncrowded swimmable beach, and spent much of the afternoon at great photo spots - including a 'secret' one with a postcard-perfect view. Because summer was coming to a close, we were able to take advantage of reduced room rates and the lodge was not full. The downside was that the poolside bar/grill was closed.
