When planning our trips, I love to look for places that are not your "know" hotels. I found this place online. It was so comfortable and everyone was very friendly. There was breakfast in the morning which was wonderful. Also, a nice porch off the second floor for sitting outside.

Look folks - it is not easy to admit that we made a mistake, but we got this one wrong - completely wrong. When planning a visit to the wonderful Yosemite National Park, we were suckered by the glowing reviews of this hotel in Groveland and booked to stay for 2 nights. We paid almost $500 for the privilege. This... More

My husband and I stayed at the Groveland Hotel for 3 nights in early June to visit Yosemite. It is about 45 minutes from the park, so pretty convenient. We enjoyed the down home olde thyme Golf Rush era town for its color and uniqueness. Few restaurant choices, but enough for a variety. The hotel is very old and charming... More

We recently stayed for a few days while visiting Yosemite. The hotel has a cool history and is located pretty conveniently. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful (particularly the bacon). The hotel, however, needs some TLC. You can preserve authenticity while properly maintaining and cleaning the historic property. For example, the window pane in our... More

Classic gold mining era hotel, right on the gateway to Yosemite Tioga Pass and Tuolomne Meadows. Beautiful outside and comfortable inside. Super friendly staff, helpful. Room a bit small but cozy. Great place to get a feel for California's past as you head up to the Park.

I have to give the owners a big thank you for being so accommodating. We booked the Inn for three nights in late May prior to our photography trip into Yosemite. After checking in, having not moved our luggage yet in we drove into the valley to tour around. We went to the Majestic for old times sake and on... More

Yes, the hotel is older. Yes, the room is small. Yes, you can probably find a hotel with a better price point somewhere in the world. However, I think this hotel represented itself pretty accurately and we were not surprised at all. We were very pleased with our stay here. It was the perfect spot to tour Yosemite, especially since... More

A lovely quaint hotel in small town of Groveland. Approximately 3.5 hours drive from San Francisco International airport. Upon arrival, we were advised that our room is not working well and they upgraded us to a 3BR self contained house at Pines Mountain Lake, which is about 5-8 mins drive away from the hotel. The downside is there is no... More

Hotel was built in 1840's but has been updated. Room was small but quaint and clean. Note much room to set bags, toiletries, etc. Bed was comfortable and room had a coffee maker and TV. Breakfast was ok but they were out of bacon and about to run out of sausage. Old style chafing dishes with separate lids so harder... More

It's cool to be in gold country and even cooler to stay in a building that dates from the late 19th century! Without a doubt, the history is the best thing this hotel has to offer. It's a cool old building that creeks when you walk around and has that "frontier" feel to it. Other than that, it is a... More
