Clean , beautiful modern hotel with spacious rooms.
Beautiful small almost an bread and breafast with no breakfast included. The room was roomie but the coffee pods are a little off putting. When you over $400.00 a night you should get a cup of coffee out of single shot nespresso. or free pour over. Everything else was perfect. I recommend upstairs room if you would like a quiet room. We got one downstairs because we had bikes with us.
Dear 9tinak, thank you for staying with us at The Steward! We love to hear you enjoyed the beautiful modern spacious suite! We are currently working on dialing in the coffee service that we are working hard to implement specifically curated for a high-level experience in every suite. Like you suggested, we agree, our team has invested a lot of thought and care into our in-room service, next visit you will find the fellow kettles and organic local coffee partner which will elevate your morning experience. The Steward team takes pride in delivering excellent service, we appreciate you taking the time to review your stay with us as well as your recommendation of our new hotel. We look forward to welcoming you back for all your future visits to Santa Barabara!

Wonderful redone hotel in Santa Barbara - a must do!!
This hotel is recently redone and transitioned to a Marriott Tribute. The grounds are historic and lovely, the lobby is inviting, intimate with a fun, upscale and unique design that creates an amazing inviting environment. The rooms are huge all suites with very high-end furniture. The F&B is truly special with an executive chef who locally sources ingredients and it's very CA central coast with veggies, spanish flair. I love this place, go now!!
I am delighted to hear you enjoyed our hotel, grounds and beautiful restaurant Terra! We look forward to welcoming you back to your home away from home.

    Wonderful hotel with some issues
This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are outstanding and so spacious. We didn't get to try the pool area out as it was raining, but it looked very nice. We had breakfast at the hotel at it was delicious. However, there were two negatives. One negative is that the hallway door leading to outside is very loud when it shuts. Our room was next to this door and therefore we heard every 'bang' quite clearly. I was a bit nervous that it would wake my son, but luckily he didn't. The other negative was that staff did not believe me when I said breakfast was included in the room rate. First the waitress went and asked reception if breakfast was included. She came back and indicated that reception said it wasn't. I then went to reception and asked myself. Same reply. I then went back to the my room to get my phone. I checked the confirmation email on my phone which said 'breakfast included'. I went back to reception and showed them, which she just said I was right. This was very frustrating when we needed to have breakfast and get going on the next leg of our holiday. I'm not sure how this happened when I booked direct.
Thank you for the positive review. I see we had a few areas of opportunity as it relates to our breakfast packages. I will be sure relay this to the team. I am happy to hear you enjoyed the breakfast at Terra. We look forward to your next visit! Kindly, Antonio M

Such high hopes for this hotel. We skipped our usual spot in SB to try this one. They had advertised a 24/7 gym, but upon showing up, they said it wasn't available due to renovations. And then nothing to make it up. Just, a sorry not sorry. For what you pay, the hotel, sadly, is lacking in amenities. One 6oz bottle of water in the room. One soap bar in the bathroom, and almost nothing else. Maybe don't open a hotel until it's ready? A lifetime Marriott member and truly disappointed with this experience.

Avoid this place. They charged me 3 times for the same room and I am still trying to resolve the issue with my credit card. I suspect there is fraud going on at the hotel staff level -- or at a minimum gross incompetence. Besides this, the hotel is noisy and smells like paint and sealant. Avoid avoid avoid

They really did a nice job with renovating this hotel. Everything was fresh and new and very modern. The rooms were spacious and clean. The grounds are gorgeous! For it only being open 7 days, they really did a wonderful job! From the hotel it’s only about a 15 min drive to shopping and sightseeing. Thanks to Mike, the front office manager, who made us feel welcome!!

The Pacific Suites hotel was recently bought and will now be The Steward hotel. I believe they are still in transition to change the name. This hotel is a hidden gem! We just stayed here two nights for a wedding. I cannot express enough how beautiful it is. It is like an unexpected oasis and retreat in the midst of the town. The grounds and the the architecture are so pretty. From the interior design to the exterior landscaping, I was completely enthralled by the decor. It is truly extraordinary. Such attention to detail and beauty. The room was freshly remodeled and very clean. The rooms are suites with a bedroom and a living room (with a pullout sofa bed) making it feel so spacious and comfortable. A perfect place if you are traveling with more than three people. The staff was very helpful, friendly and courteous. This is our second time staying here. We were here two years ago, before the remodel, and also had a good experience that's why we returned. However as we were driving up here, I started reading the current reviews and started to second guess whether it had been the right choice. I was so happy to see that those reviews were not a reflection of how the hotel is now. They were reviews written when the hotel was still undergoing major renovations. So I'll give you my current opinion. What to expect now: The pool is open and awesome. So no worries there if you're looking forward to it like we were. The previous owners offered free breakfast, but it is no longer offered under the new ownership so don't expect it even though some third party sites might still show it. However, they have a great breakfast restaurant where you can purchase a delicious meal. There's free coffee in the lobby every morning until 11am. If you stay here you can expect beauty, relaxation, serenity, comfort and a great stay that will make you wish you could stay an extra day. Our only critique: The shower water is warm, just warm enough to be comfortable, but definitely needs be hotter. The double shower heads are a plus! I highly recommend this hotel and we will be staying here again when we return. If you choose to stay here I

Booked a room weeks before trip to Santa Barbara when there were plenty of hotel options. Three days before checkin, Pacific Suites sent an email which said the hotel was under refurbishment and pool and ALL PUBLIC AREAS were unavailable. Many other hotel options were booked and what we found was 40% more expensive than had been. Such a deceptive set of actions.

I came here for a business stay. Since it’s for work, I’m not looking for much. There’s no room service or food on the property which was annoying for the price of the hotel room, but fine. The room was spacious which is about all the hotel has going for it. I wanted to take a bath after a long work day and was horrified when I went into the bathroom. Dirty old toilet and when I went the draw a bath, dirty brown water came out. The worst part of it is I called the front desk and the representative told me it’s completely normal and just the “minerals” in their water. I didn’t know I was staying at a hot springs resort with restoring minerals showing up in the water. Gross!
