Every staff member I ran into was kind and enthusiastic. That really makes all the difference in the world. The Angle Oak restaurant was a treat. Aesthetically beautiful and delicious food. The bartenders gave impecable service and the Ribeye was the best I’ve had. I will be back.

The Ritz Carlton Bacara is truly a must see for any person visiting the Santa Barbara area! We had two rooms booked and absolutely loved our short stay here. The employees were all kind and helpful. The room decor and grounds are so unique that it felt like we were in a Spanish seaside resort. Although it was cooler weather, all of the pools are heated. My family had a wonderful stay and created some great memories here.

Stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and although we saw a good number of guests at the hotel, it never felt crowded or loud. There around 15? villas with guest rooms on different floors, which spread out guests in a well thought out pattern it seems. The room was nicely decorated and had a charming feel to it. The bathroom was pretty big and had a shower and a separate bath. Each side of the bed had its own USB and electrical sockets to easily charge your devices. The WIFI was great- good speed and it was a breeze to connect to. Bed & pillows were comfy, but the bottom sheet wasn't fitted and shifted around a lot whenever someone tossed&turned. Heard some stopping from the room above me, but never heard noise from outside the patio or front doors. Fitness center was very well done, although was hard to find and a bit of a pain to use during COVID because you had to sign up for a time slot ahead of going (nothing the hotel could do about this, I'm sure). To find the gym, do NOT go to the spa entrance or villa with the spa (#12). Instead walk to villa 11 and go to the far right side of that building to see the gym entrance off to the right side. The biggest downside to the stay was the valet parking- $53 a day and a hassle to use because you have to wait for the car to be brought up, etc etc. Would much prefer a self-park option- the lot is easy to access, which makes the valet feel like even more of a salt in the wound and a forced option. It was also unfortunate that there wasn't more of a walking bath around the hotel. There's a shorter dirt path to take to the beach, but other than walking on the beach itself, there's no walking path or trail :/

We moved the resort itself and the private beach/ cliff trail. However, the hotel needed updating and cleaning- the stairwells were really dirty, outdoor furniture was stained in restaurants, and the first room (partial view suite) was dark, dank and bare. We were moved to an ocean view suite eventually, which was an upgrade denied is by the first (unpleasant) check in person whose name we now forget. This was much better, and they brought in new mattresses as they have been trying to roll out updates to their very old, sagging ones. Upon arriving home, we were contacted and offered redemption nights to make up for this, but efforts to contact the person upon our subsequent trip to California failed.

The Ritz Carlton Bacara is a beautifully situated hotel right there on the coast with a pleasant beach to stroll on. Our room was very nice with a patio and was well furnished. The hotel has nice restaurants but rather pricey. The service levels were not usually good but not always up to par.
