We stayed a Sat-Wed and had a great time and plan to come back. The hotel is beautiful but it's very expansive with some large hills. We loved it but if you don't like walking or have problems walking, it's not for you. The rooms are a bit dated as previous reviews stated and there is some noise from your neighbors above but it was minimal. We ate at Angel Oak one night and the service was fantastic especially with us having 2 small children but the steak (dry aged NY) was one of the worst steaks I've ever had in my life. We would go back but stick to the seafood part of the menu. The O bar had some great Latin food but the menu seemed very limited but everything was delicious. The Valets were all amazing and took the time to ask about what your plans were and offer any help in recommendations.

I had a seminar at the Bacara for four days. It was amazing. What a beautiful spot, beach, beautiful room, beautiful breakfast where German was my wonderful waiter every morning for me. The buffet made eggs made to order. I loved the fitness classes especially the sound bowl class where the girl Katie coo was the best sound class I’ve ever had. I highly recommend you taking that class. Dorothy, the concierge was so absolutely amazing. We had such a wonderful conversation while I was trying to secure Stevia for my morning coffee‘s. I was surprised that the bistro restaurant did not have Stevia for my coffee and neither did the café, but Dorothy took care of everything for me and lo and behold - that evening I had an envelope full of Stevia in my room. Love your work and Dorothy what an amazing woman. Hopefully they’ll be getting Stevia added to the table service. Highly recommend you staying at this beautiful hotel?

We had such a wonderful time during our two-day stay at the Bacara for our wedding anniversary. The whole experience has been very impressive starting from the moment we check-in to the very last moment before we leave. The ocean view from our room is spectacular (see my photos). Sure, the property itself shows age and could use a few touch ups here and there but they do a really good job maintaining it and not to mention all the great amenities (multiple restaurants, pools, spa, beach…). It’s a true luxury resort and the service also lives up to it. Want to give special thanks to the front desk agent Benjamin who helped me during our check in and surprised us with room upgrades for our anniversary as well as another manager (I forgot his name, maybe Ryan? the guy from Arcadia, CA) who greeted us by name when we came back from dinner for the room keys. The steakhouse is also super nice and we even got a special dessert for our anniversary. All in all, it’s such a great experience and we are definitely coming back (hopefully soon)!

Bacara is a beautifully laid out, low-rise resort just outside of SB. We stayed here with our kids for two nights as part of a California road-trip and we were very happy with our spacious room and the hotel’s amenities including two pools, hot-tubs, a large gym and some really nice restaurants and bars. We didn’t have any complaints, but there’s a couple of things you would probably want to know before staying here: One, it’s a good 10 miles outside of Santa Barbara, which is fine as long as you’re happy to drive in and out you miss the liveliness of the town, but it was really nice to come back and relax. It’s a more spacious resort in you’d find in a town. Two, as other reviewers have noted, there is an oil rig which is visible from the beach. You can’t see it from the hotel and it just is what it is. It didn’t bother us in the slightest, but we were only there for two nights. If you were there for a longer time and planning on spending days on the beach in the height of summer, you might find it a bit off-putting. Thirdly, this is an out-of-town hotel with a flat and spacious car park right next to it. Yet the only parking option is $50 a night valet parking. As there is no way to get to this hotel other than driving and frankly, I would be more than happy to drive my own car to the car park this extra charge was unwelcome. I didn’t feel I got any benefit from it and as Brits, I guess we just like to see an all-in price whereas in the US people same more comfortable with a lot of extras at the end of the bill.

I am currently staying here and am very disappointed. The rooms are a bit old and run down, the floor tiles are cracked and the rooms don’t allow for much privacy and relaxation. You can here every footstep from people above and also here then run water for showers, baths, sink, etc… very disappointing for the price and especially considering we had reserved the highest floor and didn’t receive it. Also, there are no frills here, no typical complimentary breakfast or $100 resort credit to enjoy on site.

This resort is beautiful although it is good to know it is a 15 to 20 minute drive to anywhere! We stayed here with interconnecting rooms with the family and had plenty of space and comfort. We took advantage of club lounge access, and I would admit it made our stay. Our room was situated close to the club and was very easy to pop in and out for any needed amenity from meals, to snacks to drinks to printing a document for my daughters college essay. The gym, food and spa all superb.

Stayed at the hotel for two days. Really enjoyed our stay. the property is beautiful. It has lovely views and it's very quiet. The rooms, while in need of renovations, are spacious. The staff in reception were ok (not amazing) however, we loved the breakfast. It has lovely views, the food is amazing and we were lucky to have Erica as our waitress on day one. She was superb.

There were too many loud kids when we went. Kinda went away to such a luxurious retreat to get away from screaming kids. Other than that, though. It was a luxurious and wonderful stay. Had a nice massage and the hawk trainer on the property was super fun to watch and talk to.

Service better than reviews--Ana at Pool area was amazing. Housekeeping doing a 5-star job. The resort is at 100% capacity for two weeks around Easter, but the small coffee shop with grab and go food closes at 1pm. The gift shop at 4pm. Room service menu VERY limited. The sushi restaurant not open mid-week, and so on and so on. The luggage took forever the first night as the entry courtyard was a sea of SUVs. Rooms as mentioned are dated--haven't changed since I was here for business in 2003 where it felt very special.

I have been home in Hawaii for a week now, and I miss the Ritz Santa Barbara--that says A LOT!! The staff was amazing from the moment we pulled up. I celebrated my birthday weekend with my best friends there, and I feel like the entire hotel treated us like queens! The check in agent, Ryan, was personable and friendly and our room was ready prior to the 4pm check in which was perfect! It was clean and tidy and the turn down service every day was wonderful. The server at the O'bar, Matt, went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, even sending a little gift to our room after we left! The quesadilla there is beyond, definitely get that and all the wine! We went to every restaurant and each server and bartender got to know us and treated us like friends--the customer service is even better there than what I experience back home in the Aloha State. Rave reviews to the bartender and his espresso martinis at Angel Oak and compliments are well deserved to Elvis, Mark, our personal fitness trainer the and all the staff (who I am so sorry that I forgot their names!!) who treated us with such kindness and surpassed all levels of customer service ever expected. We will DEFINITELY be back for the next girls trip!
