I stayed here for a girl friends getaway for 3 nights. It was our first time in the area and we chose Gaige House for the quiet location and nice amenities. We booked the Creekside Suite (which is ADA accessible). Our stay was definitely a splurge. Even with early booking discount (I think 20% off as we booked over 2 months in advance), it came to about $700 USD per night. Our room and the facilities were nice, but I would say the level of service and luxury are not exactly what I would expect at this price range. For instance, the front desk staff is gone after 7:30pm and they specify only to call them after hours if it is a real emergency. People were nice at reception but when we had certain requests (e.g. a 2nd luggage rack), they said they didn't have any. We only realized on the last day that while there is no kettle, there is a hot water tap on the sink in the room. However, there were no tea bags in the room. You would have to perhaps plan ahead and take some tea bags during breakfast if you want to have some in the room. Our TV signal was not working (although it was not a big deal as we didn't really want to watch TV, so we did not bother to ask the staff to fix it). The key to our suite was kind of finicky and would get stuck. Our room was really spacious and comfortable. It is right next to the meditation room, pool and hot tub. There is a private patio with lounge chairs overlooking the creek - so peaceful and relaxing. The room is super quiet because it is away from any other guest rooms. The sky light is really nice. The soaker bathtub looks nice but is a weird shape and takes literally FOREVER to fill up, so it is not the most practical. I tried to use it once, it took over 15 mins to fill up just past my legs (when sitting down) and I just gave up. The fireplace was super cozy and the bluetooth speaker worked well. Robes were nice. Pillows were too flat. The pool was nice, but it was a bit chilly on the days we were there. Staff told us the pool was heated but there is no way, it was freezing cold. Myself and other guests sat in the hot tub and then used the main pool as a "cold plunge", but it was not comfortable to actually swim in. The meditation room is gorgeous - but open, so during our stay it was too cold to sit there or do yoga there. Instead, we borrowed the yoga mats and used them in our room. The breakfast was quite nice, with a good mix of pastries, nice fresh fruit and granola and rotating hot dishes (so if you stay multiple days, it won't be the same everyday) - e.g. pancakes, hash browns, scrambled eggs, frittata. The complimentary sake and port was a nice touch for a night cap, as were the chocolate chip cookies in the lobby. We joined the wine and cheese hour twice which had a nice sampling of white, red, and rose wines from the area. It runs from 5-6pm and you can enjoy it with cheese and charcuterie in the inviting living room area or on the terrace. Try to arrive closer to 5pm. I noticed both times by 5:45pm some wines had run out (I did notice some other guests pouring themselves HUGE glasses of wine, so that must be why haha). The location was great - we walked to Glen Ellen Star for dinner which was amazing (reservations open about 2 weeks in advance, be sure to reserve online). It is just 15 mins drive from downtown Sonoma and half an hour to Napa. There are not many places within walking distance, but you are a short drive to lots of great wineries and restaurants. We really liked the small boutique vibe of Gaige House. I am not sure the price is justified, but would recommend it for a quiet getaway, especially for couples as the place is quite romantic. …
