One of our all time favorite places to stay! This was our first time to stay in Glen Ellen after a number of visits to the Sonoma and Russian River Valleys. It’s our new favorite. Tranquil, freshly modern and comfortable, beautiful exterior places to relax, amazing staff, and best breakfast we have ever had at a hotel or inn. We will be back for sure! This would be perfect for a long weekend. We stayed 6 nights and would have been quite content to stay longer!
We stayed here for 3 nights, and I cannot rate this amazing hotel highly enough it was absolutely superb. Staff: The staff were absolutely brilliant! Kind, helpful, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Absolutely everyone we interacted with went out of their way and above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The staff on the front desk were so welcoming and just were lovely people to talk to. The waiting staff were super nice and friendly and everyone seemed super happy to be there. We also had a really great massage treatment. Rooms Amazing!! Huge comfortable beds, great bathroom modern room and super comfortable. Grounds Beautifully kept and the fire pitt was fabulous plenty of places to relax and watch the world go by with some wine. Pool was awesome and a lovely hot tub, clean rest rooms and lots of fresh towels and sun loungers. Food Breakfast was the best breakfast I've had anywhere to be honest. I fully agree with all the positive comments on here about the breakfasts, to put it into context I travel all over the world staying in 5 star hotels on a regular basis! sorry ritz carlton but Olea beats you hands down on the breakfast front. Food was super healthy and a well thought out 2 course menu that was tasty and set you up for the day. Location: Great location there are a decent amount of restaurants to walk to within about 10 minutes you will not go hungry, the road is narrow but there is a back route you can take to avoid traffic. It's close to loads of great vineyards and easy to explore the whole area. And a brilliant place to base yourself, there is also a huge grocery store in the village that has everything you could need. Overall I can't recommend this little gem highly enough, I would also add there are super nice touches such as wine in the afternonn/evening where you can just pour yourself. Tea coffee etc is also available all day from reception you just help yourself. We absolutely loved our trip and can't wait to return. Huge thank you to the amazing kind staff for making our stay so enjoyable. …
Decided to try a new location, usually we are in Napa or Santa Rosa and so glad we did. The proximity to wineries and restaurant was great. We stayed in a Cottage, the bed was very comfortable, The bathroom is large with a nice walk in shower and separate bathtub. Also the EO bath products are a refreshing change from heavily perfumed items. I wish it had been a little cooler so we could have taken better advantage of the indoor/outdoor fireplace. We enjoyed the full breakfast every morning and chatting with Christian? Everyone who works here is very friendly and helpful. My only suggestion would be to have a screen for the fireplace for privacy and to block light.
What can I say that hasn't already been written? This place is phenomenal, beautiful rooms, awesome location, amazing staff and delicious breakfast. The fireplace in the room was perfect on the chilly early spring nights, super comfortable bed and the list goes on. The only critique is the shower may be difficult for some to get in and out of, it was super slippery, and there was no grab bar located in a way to aid when entering or exiting. Other than that it's a stellar hotel.
Believe what you read. This hotel is great. Everything is impeccably maintained on the grounds, which are beautifully landscaped. Staff were friendly and helpful. All room details well thought out, bed comfortable, bathroom huge and the heated bathroom floor is a nice touch. We stayed in one of the cottages, and it felt like a little home away from home. The pool area is inviting. We walked into town for dinners, which was so nice after days of driving around. All in all, we would stay again if we come back to this area.
This was our last of 3 hotels in Wine Country and it was the perfect ending to an amazing vacation. The staff, the grounds, our room, the breakfast, the amenities, the wine and snacks were all beyond fantastic. We loved our accommodations. We were in room 1 with a parking space right outside the room, main building steps away and several spots to sit and enjoy the outdoors including a fire pit spot, chaises around the pool and hot tub. There is a spa on site but we had booked too many other things for too little time here. Next time. We loved the 2 course breakfast feasts, the wines and complimentary snacks, a Brita pitcher in our room, along with mini fridge with La Croix seltzer. Snacks that were complimentary in the room and lobby. Nothing was missing. The front desk staff were all great and very helpful and had lots of suggestions about things to do. We had a dinner reservation up the road and they told us how to avoid walking in the dark on the main road. It was a perfect suggestion and a great night for a walk.…
This is a great hotel. The cottages are new and fabulous. A nice pool that gets pleat of Sun and a good location. Do t bother going over to Napa, but you can easily. I recommend a visit to Chateau St Michelle. I a great wine and a great venue. Easy walk into town, but take the back road , don’t walk on Warm Springs Road, it’s to narrow.
We stayed at The Olea for three nights in early February. The owner and his staff are friendly, helpful, and warm. They greeted us with a smile and made sure we were taken care of. The property is gorgeous and surrounded by giant trees, lights, outdoor seating and a fire pit. Our room was modern, updated, and visually appealing. Our king size bed was comfy too. Although we didn't get a chance to use the pool and jacuzzi, they were clean, the pool was heated, and the surrounding lounging area was well kept. We are looking forward to our next visit!
My husband and I stayed here for 5 days for our anniversary and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel was well maintained and the rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Loved the heated floors in the bathroom! There were many areas to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The hot tub was wonderful after a long day of sightseeing. Our favorite thing at the hotel was breakfast! Every morning we looked forward to seeing what creative, delicious meal we would have and the chef never disappointed us. The front desk staff made us feel so welcome that we hated to leave. If you need a peaceful place to stay, this is the place.
This hotel is amazing! I had some amazing food while in California, but some of my favorite was at the Olea Hotel in Glen Ellen made by chef Indica. Thank you chef! Smoked salmon with creme fraiche on crostini with micro greens and Romanesco broccoli. The dinning area has both inside & outdoor dinning. Gretchen in the lobby & the entire staff went above & beyond in helping for any of your needs including recommendations for nearby dinning. There's a heated pool & a great hot tub. The pool area has a changing room that has towels. The loungers are relaxing and comfortable. The rooms are nice & well appointed with complimentary snacks and a Brita water filter pitcher. A mini fridge is in the closet. There's an outdoor fire pit & some rooms have fire places (Both the pit & room fireplaces are electric) Ample parking provided is included. Delicious food & wonderful staff! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.…
