We chose the Residence Inn late yesterday as a suitable stop before visiting Yosemite National park today. The front desk receptionist, Megan, went out of her way to make us feel welcomed as Marriott Gold Elite members. They had a fun points game upfront, where a roll of the dice earned you extra Bonvoy points. The points amount (up to 2500 for snake eyes) was not the point; it was a nice and unique touch I haven’t seen in other Marriott properties. We were checked into a two bed suite which was very spacious for our family of four. I like the eco-touch of sensors on lights to ensure they’re turned off when guests are not in the room or have left for awhile. They have a pool and basketball/tennis court, plus grills and tables outside. We didn’t use these facilities, but others did and seemed to enjoy them. Breakfast was standard Residence Inn fare (eggs, self cook waffles, fruit etc) - did the job. The unit itself was spacious but a little dark. The couch could have used a more thorough clean (unfortunately a previous guests’ hairs were found all over the backseat) but the beds and baths were bright and tidy. I gave this four stars simply because the customer service at the start was very good and Megan went out of her way to ensure we felt appreciated as Bonvoy elite members. That customer service touch makes ALL the difference.

Stayed here for a night on our way back from Yosemite because of proximity to the airport. Hotel is located to many restaurants, malls and local attractions. Very accommodating and courteous staff. Breakfast is rich with many options. Beds are small, but the room had sofa bed too.

Good breakfast, clean room. Beware of pet fee charges though. My family and I stayed there for one night last weekend. When I made the booking, it mentioned, charges may apply to having pets but it did not mention any price or if there are number of pets allowed. I noted in my reservation that I was bringing my two dogs both under 50 lbs and two cockatiels who were in their own cage. For a supposed pet friendly hotel, they charged us too much. We paid $100 for our dogs and an additional $50 for our birds for a one night stay. Our hotel stay was almost the same price as the cleaning fee. We have travelled a lot with our pets and we always stayed at pet friendly hotels through booking.com and marriott.com. This is the most we have paid for our pets. I took photos of how we left the room since we barely made a mess. It does not justify the cleaning fee that we were charged.

Hello Noel-Michelle, Thank you for taking the time to complete a review on your recent stay at the Residence Inn and share your feedback. We regret you were not informed properly of the hotel's pet charges. The cleaning fee is for the additional cleaning that must be completed anytime a pet stays in a room. Again thanks for taking the time to “tell it like it was” for it is through comments such as yours that we are able to continuously work to exceed our guests’ expectations.

Secured a room at the Residence Inn Marriot in Fresno for the Ag Expo. Overall appearance and impression was ok, 5 out of 10. Check in and service was adequate. The small suite was modest but functional; It had a small kitchenette and living room area and separate bedroom. The bed was a little firm for my taste but typical motel style. Outside noise was minimal which is a plus. Unfortunately neither the internet nor the TV worked properly which was extremely frustrating. Basically it meant an additional stop at Starbucks to facilitate internet connectivity. I also was cut off half way thru my pro basketball game because the TV wasnt working properly. Deal killer for me. The complementary breakfast was average but made me sick later. They did offer a mixer hour in the afternoon serving free beer and wine which is a nice bonus. The place was clean but clearly aging and showing signs. Location is convenient, right next to the 41 and close to Fresno State, the Mall and many stores. I'd rate it 2 stars out of 5 and it would NOT be my first choice if I had a choice. I've stayed at much worse though.
