This inn is fantastic. The property is huge and right on the coast with stunning scenery. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food is excellent. Take the ATV tour they offer of the property. It is well worth it. And you get to plant a baby redwood tree to boot.

Property's Favorite Review
My husband and adult daughter stayed 3 nights this past week at The Inn at Newport Ranch. Everything was lovely. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The protocols for COVID were carefully thought out and observed. There was ventilation in the common dining area, with choices to eat in your room or outside. They have an excellent chef on staff and we very much enjoyed our special meals in the evenings as well as breakfast. The surrounding scenery is stunning--the coastline and the mountains right behind. We spent one happy hour watching a pod of small whales go by. Our room, the Bird House suite, had a gas enclosed fireplace in the living area which kept the room toasty. Our favorite activity during our stay was the 2 hour Utility Terrain Vehicle tour of the extensive property with Otis. He is full of local, historical and botanical knowledge and is so friendly and generous with his time and information. We really felt like we got a sense of where we were. We will definitely come again and look forward to coming in a different season to see what that is like. Thank you to everyone who made this a great trip for us.

This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at that is closer to home or a "weekend getaway". From the moment you drive in, you see the beautiful landscape and the cows all gathered to welcome you in. Ian, checked me in and told me about the property and showd me around. You can book a room at the main building which feels like a very beautiful lodge. Or you can book one of the rooms outside from a little more privacy. The rooms are very warm and love how it does not feel like a "hotel" but a very nice lodge. Every morning, I was delighted to see DiDi smiling and warm face and the very delicious breakfast. Nothing like sitting outside the benches and tables and enjoying a cup of hot coffee. Lunch and dinner can be ordered at the restaurant but I chose to go into town. The trails and views in the back of thr property towards the water was simply beautiful and amazing! I really enjoyed my visit to this place and left feeling very refreshed and not wanting to leave! I will be back!

The inn was lovely, exactly as cozy inside as it needed to be to counter the cold, windswept landscape. Perfect for long hikes then curling up with a book and a hot chocolate. But the highlight was definitely Otis. He gave what was honestly the best tour I’ve ever experienced- interesting and really funny and wide-ranging. We learned about the land and the trees and the people who lived here and the whoopee houses and the dynamite and the edible plants, but mostly we learned about mushrooms. Walking through the forest with Otis was completely delightful. We’d mushroom hunted before, but it was so great to get his expert guidance and experience his joy in foraging. It was incredibly fun. I’m so grateful the landscape was preserved so beautifully, that we could experience such a gorgeous untouched forest, and for the bounty we took home with us. We loved Otis, but more than that we loved the natural beauty he showed us.

No need to go into how beautiful the view and estate is, everything everyone else is saying is true. You have to visit to feel it for yourself. My husband and I stayed at the Captain's Quarter - very nice room and soft bedding. It's right above the kitchen and communal room - very convenient. Only complain is not very noise proof. Early AM I can hear staff downstairs laughing and chatting serving breakfast. Not a deal breaker but something to note. This review is mainly for Odis, our ATV tour guide - without him I don't think our experience would've been as great. We love a beautiful scenery, but a beautiful scenery alone wouldn't cut it for us. Experience is more important to us than static scenery. If you're He provided a great experience for us and we cannot recommend his tour enough to everyone. Odis is very knowledgeable - nature walking encyclopedia is not a understatement, not to mention what a great nice guy he is. I usually get bored within 2min if the tour person does not grab my attention with info or personality. Our tour was over 2hrs, and I wish it was longer! I was intrigued by so much good info with the beautiful scenery as backdrop - it was perfect. I'd love to come back to take other tours by Odis.

The Inn at Newport Ranch is a TKO. Its natural beauty is perfectly complemented by stellar service, delicious food and wonderful accommodations. The ATV tour is not to be missed. Our guide Otis was acutely informative in all the right ways. Like all great books, his storytelling brought this area of Northern California (known as the Lost Coast) to life. Eager to find our way back here very soon.

Beautiful setting with nice accommodations. This is less hotel than it is a central lodge that hosts a few guest houses, which can be easily subdivided. We were sold on the view, and that did not disappoint. The place is fairly remote, so dinner options are pretty much at the lodge and choices are basically a meat or fish and a salad or soup, but the meals are well done. The wine list and cocktail list are both quite good. Staff are very friendly. Blair seems to have all the facets in her domain and we met Bre, Dominique and Brittany, who were all super nice and helpful.

The rooms at the inn are nothing special but we did have a patio out side with lovely ocean views. Coming from Napa, which is a food city I found the restaurant to be good but nothing exciting. If you are a good cook you could make the same meal. Meals are $85 per person , little on the high side. We were unable to eat all the food, so if you are a big eater you should be happy. The second night we asked if we could split the meal, and was charged $ 30 to use another plate, though that was very high. The people and service was all very nice. The inn is in an isolated area so nothing to do except enjoy nature. Enjoyed their lovely vegetable garden

My husband and I just returned from an amazing visit at this treasure of an Inn! We have stayed at several places in the Mendocino/Fort Bragg area and the Inn at Newport Ranch surpasses them all! The staff is authentic, welcoming, and attentive. The rooms are well appointed (the view from the Captain's Quarters does not disappoint!), the scenery is gorgeous, and everything we ate was incredible. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - we tried them all and loved them all. We took advantage of several of the on property hiking trails and enjoyed the tranquility that can often only be found at smaller, more private resorts. Before our visit I read reviews about a "resort fee", but it's a non tipping facility and the service truly is top notch. We felt the service charge was very reasonable and were happy to pay it, especially given the memorable time we had during our stay. Next time we're in Fort Bragg you'll find us here.

A birthday trip for my husband, myself and my brother and his wife a late June Birthday. Wow, what a beautiful spot! The ATV tour of the Ranch was phenomenal! An experience I will share with many. One could not ask for a more suited guide. Otis is exceptionally knowledgeable and loves his "community". Otis shared a wealth of information on the flora and fauna on the property. His wife, Felicia, a herbalist, tends the vegetable/flower gardens at the Inn. I like how she integrates the flowers to attract the I would love to return for one of their mushroom foraging tours. The picnic lunch was good, but heavy, grilled ham and cheese. NOT deli ham the real thing.... :) Thank you to all the staff for making our time at the Inn at Newport so relaxing.
