The Grey Whale Inn offers vacation lodging amidst comfort and laid back Mendocino Coast elegance. The Inn, a classic architecture of old-growth redwood, is a premier oceanfront inn in historic downtown Fort Bragg. Within walking distance of a great selection of restaurants, the internationally award winning North Coast Brewery, Glass Beach, the Skunk Train, art galleries, a culinary center, and the historic downtown shopping area. Experience the real Mendocino personality at the Grey Whale Inn. We no longer provide a breakfast. However, there are many wonderful local dining locations within walking distance of the inn.

This so called “funky” b&b is overpriced in the extreme. Apart from a comfortable bed it had NOTHING to recommend it. Not worth $100 per night let alone the $200+ it charges. Also be aware that booking.com edits out negative comments. Due to their omission of my negative

It has been 2 or 3 years since I was there last. The new owners are updating and fixing things, but I miss Mike and Sweet Pea. Okay, especially Sweet Pea. She was the wonderful, feline Guest Relations Manager. She visited all the guests and made everyone feel at home. The

How far from Los Angeles?
I fly into San Francisco then it is about 2 hours by car depending on the traffic and road construction (which seems to pop up when I arrive).
