Great views and balcony. Good value. The art and walls in the rooms are interesting for the location (all spanish / mexican churches and landscapes). Only plastic cups in the room but you can buy a logo wine glass for $10. Nice easy place for a one night stay.

This place sits over the entrance to the harbor and has direct views of the ocean from every angle. The fog horn will blow every 8-12 seconds so beware. It didn't bother me at all after the first few hours. Some of the luxuries of booking an expensive hotel were missed for sure. Room cleaning and breakfast for sure, but as long as you are understanding about the pandemic, you can still travel. The hotel lobby is very strict about masks. You will not be let inside without one. I wonder if a discount could be given where services are now limited, the room rates are still full price even though no room service, housekeeping or resturant is available

Since we planned on driving the Avenue of the Giants, Fort Bragg's North Cliff Hotel was our home base for two nights allowing us to be able to visit the main spots along the Avenue while still being close enough to good food options within Fort Bragg and 20 minutes from Mendocino.

Because of Covid, breakfast is just a brown baggie with coffee cake, a KIND bar, and a tiny orange juice that you can pick up in the morning or the day before from the lobby.

The king suite without the in-room spa had a nice sitting area by the fireplace where the spa would be in other rooms that overlooked the ocean and the harbor. It was perfect for watching sunsets or moonrises as we discovered on our last morning.

The patio is quite small so not really enough to enjoy takeout with a view (only enough space for your brown bag breakfast). However, the room itself is spacious with a full couch and that sitting area by the fireplace to have ice cream even if it's cold outside. I love that they have real plates and silverware above the microwave for your takeout which we took advantage of replating our Noyo food.

The only strange thing is the numbering system of the rooms. There were some in the 300s that is parking lot level but in certain areas, it becomes 200s which can be a bit confusing.

Overall had a really pleasant stay.

I will try to make this as short as possible....The person who took my call to make reservations (come to find out the general manager) was not friendly and very abrupt. I called about a promotion they were running.
Stay two nights, get one free. After going a few rounds back an forth about price and her changing the price 3 times, she explained that she could not give me a free night because of a holiday but could give me a great deal by giving me a 33% discount. Plus, I would have to change rooms for my 3rd night. After booking my room, I looked online and I would have saved more by booking online with my AAA discount for 3 nights than the price she gave me. After realizing I did not get the proper discount as the promotion stated, and a family member got the same deal
for $100 less, I called back to question the price. She rose to her
"authoritative" voice and argued that she gave me the best price and she is the one who wrote the promotions. She said I had no right to question her price and if I didn't like it she would cancel my reservations. Because of her rudeness, I asked her to cancel. She confirmed she would cancel and hung up on me.
My family member kept her reservation. Come to find out, they charged her more at check in explaining that she was given too much of a discount. They did not inform her prior to check in. It made for an awkward moment and an unwelcoming experience.
I called the hotel after her stay and asked for the manager's name. I was told by the person who answered that she was unable to give out her name due to security purposes. I told her the reason for my call is to get the manager's name and apologize to the two people who helped my relative with her reservation if they were reprimanded by the rude manager for honoring the promotion. Needless to say, the conversation went south for a few minutes with her trying to regurgitate all of the rude comments the manager had already said to me. During the conversation, she quoted that my relative got an email confirming the price of the two nights but not
for the free night, so there was nothing in writing that committed them to the promotion. (that was not true because she did receive the email) Needless to say, she was saying all the wrong things. She also quoted that my relative would not receive a refund if that is what I was looking for. She also stated that there is no corporate number to call or email I could use for my complaint. She said I could email the hotel directly (like that would do any good) because the hotel is family owned. She said the owners allow the manager to handle things her way and a complaint would do no good.
I ended the phone call by informing her, for the third time, that I was not looking for a refund. I was calling for the manager's name to file a complaint for her rudeness and to apologize to the people who helped my relative with the room reservations for any reprimands they received as a result of my conversation with their unfriendly, unprofessional manager.

The promotion mentioned cannot be applied with other deals. We did clarify to the best of our ability the limitations of this discount prior to arrival. A voicemail was left on the guests phone explaining the situation on the day the reservations were made.It is our duty to abide by the hotel's rules and regulations established by the owners and managers of the property. We hope they will visit the coastline in the future. This was the last stop on our 3 week road trip to 6 different states during COVID19. The hotel was definitely more prepared in dealing with the restrictions put on them from our lovely governor.
Our room was beautiful! Great view on the water. Even had a fireplace and separate sitting area. Everything, including the tv remoted were sanitized and wrapped in plastic.
We couldn't turn on the tv and when we called the front desk we were told the technician had left for the day! Basically, we were out of luck. We ended up unplugging and plugging it back in. Would have been nice to have had a list of tv stations. All in all, the hotel was very nice.

We booked a spa room at $275/night. The prime attraction is a large bay window, a spa tub for two, a gas fireplace and a killer ocean view - very romantic. There was a tiny deck on the side where we enjoyed cocktails and when we entered the room from the deck on the way to dinner we noticed water pouring down from the ceiling and it caught us by surprise. We called the front desk several times and there was no response and no way to leave a message. We were seriously considering calling 911 but first trudged up the hill and did find a person who was not at all surprised and very reluctant to help. (Guess this happens all the time?) She did call the people in the room above ours and told them to stop letting the tub overflow. We asked for a different room and she told us they were full but that if we felt in danger we could leave without charge, knowing full well that the whole town was sold out on that night. By the time we got back to the room, the leaking had slowed but our view had been ruined. Water had poured down the window and in and all around the tub. The ceiling had started to come down in a couple of places. As we looked around, it appeared that repairs had been made previously. We went to dinner and when we returned at 10:30 p.m. another flood occurred - worse than the first. We called the front desk and they said they would again call the people in the room above ours and tell them to stop letting the tub overflow. All night it continued dripping and we could hear it when the water hit our tub. Talking with the manager on duty the next morning we realized that they were not concerned because the damage would be paid for by the people staying in the room above ours. She offered us a $50.00 refund for the inconvenience and was offended by our lack of appreciation for the discount for not being able to use their prized bay window attraction and the lack of sleep because of the ongoing drip until 1:30 a.m. Moral of the story: if you select a spa room be sure it's on the top floor!

My hubby surprised me with a midweek getaway to North Cliff Hotel. Our 3rd floor room faced the ocean. What a view from the balcony. It was clean with a romantic gas fireplace, terry cloth robes, room safe, microwave and fridge. Ear plugs provided for the fog horn which is only needed if you sleep with the sliding glass doe open. Room is sound proof if the doors are closed. No traffic sounds either.
Included is a free daily breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. in the main building. Made to order waffles, coffee, tea, assorted juices, pastries, breads, assorted instant hot oatmeal packets, sausage links, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, hash brown patties, and an assortment of cold cereals.
Please be aware that there is no elevator to access upper floor rooms or the daily breakfast which is on the 2nd floor of the main building. Narrow handicap parking slots and a tight parking radius to boot.
Close to the Noyo Headlands Park access to walk the coastline trail and Mendocino Botanical Garden. We would definitely come and stay here again.

This was our 54th wedding anniversary
Re: Our Stay @ your hotel 9/17-9/25 room 304
We received a letter from the management about 1 hour after we had checked out. So I called and was refused to speak with the manager and then hung up on. We were accused of breaking the chair and using the hot tub with no permission. So the 120 that was deducted was recharged to our room. See letter or explanation and complaint. This is the letter I sent to the hotel and will post in the hotel review.
Dear hotel management, On Sunday night after our check in we discovered that the refrigerator in the room was not working so when I went to the office the lady on duty said so sorry but we don't have another one, when I said wow that is to bad as we are there for 6 days, she didn't act like it was a big deal but she would see what she could do. OK, that is great and they brought a different one and that was good. On Monday morning when I came into the office to buy some cups and wine and happened to mention to the lady on duty that was there that it was our 54th Anniversary and I said the only thing we were bummed about was the Hot tub not being used. She said oh, you can use yours and it is the only one in the hotel that will be working. You can use it until you check out no problem. She said she was the manager and she gave us a complimentary bottle of wine because we didn’t get one at check in. 1# We would have never used that hot tub had the day manager not said it was ok. Then there is the thing with the chair, we never sat in that chair and it is not fair to accuse us of breaking it, if we had and broke it we would have said so. We spent a lot of money to come there and celebrate our anniversary and it is just a shame at the way that we have been accused of breaking the chair and using the hot tub behind your backs knowing that we were asked not to. It is not about the money $120 is a $120 it is about the principle of the disrespectful way that you treated us as your guest and hanging up, being extremely rude to us and insisting that you were right. How do you know that this chair was not broken even though you say it was new and didn't see it. We know we will not be coming back and will be writing a review and I plan to look into writing to the owners of this establishment. This is so wrong, we know what we have done and not done. Sincerely disappointed, Kathleen Watson

Combination of views and modest cost for this location led us to choose this hotel. Views are excellent. In-room jacuzzi is nice. Spacious rooms have personalized looks, rather than stereotypical. Added major bonus is that this is walking distance to the wharf area along the Noyo River without suicidally going across Highway 1, where there are about 8 restaurants. We ate at one of those and it was truly super seafood. To reach that wharf area, walk northWest out of the hotel's parking lot along a ~8ft wide trail through tall eucalyptus trees that switchbacks in about 100ft, beginning a reasonably steep descent down towards a road along the river that both is below Hwy 1 and leads to the restaurants. Wear sturdy shoes as it's sufficiently steep with gravel to potentially slip. North Cliff Hotel's fairly minor weak point is breakfast is set up but you need to bring things back to your room and use a microwave. Overall, we think this hotel is simply a great choice!

This place is right on the coast overlooking the entrance to the harbor. Even better , you can walk across the parking lot and be on the trails of the Noyo Headlands park. We were on the third floor with a great view. This floor also has vaulted ceilings so the room felt very large. Sinks are outside of the toilet and shower which came in handy as it was me, my wife, and two teenage girls! Staff is accommodating and everything was clean and in working order. Despite being by the main road, room was super quiet. One tip, the third floor is awesome but there is not elevator.

The North Cliff hotel allows dogs but they have a "limited" amount of rooms for people traveling with pets. When you reserve a room make sure you specify you need a dog friendly accommodation.

Hi there, Sorry for the delay in writing this. There is a room on the ground floor with a king size bed available. It is not an ADA style, as it looks that one is already booked. But it does have a lovely spa tub. It goes for $209 on Thursday and $219 on Friday. Thank you for your inquiry! Alanna General Manager
