Were taking a break out of this busy and chaotic world (plus the covid, of course). And I could say we made a right choice to breath in and out in this little paradise in Gradac. This family hotel gives a vibrant vibe of cozy yet calm ambiance. And take note, they observe the new normal protocol that makes you feel at east by having sanitation corner in each area to avoid any spread of germs. It was like a home when the staff welcomed us. We met the owner Stipe who entertained us late afternoon after our arrival and on the next morning we had a good serving of breakfast meal on the seaside. That really makes our stay like a honeymoon again... We had some small talks with the hotel Manager Nenad and offered us a good rate for a 4hr tour in Makarska. The staff deals with us politely with a smile and very accommodating even sharing what's the best in this area like adventures and trips. If we could only extend our stay, we'll surely do. Definitely, we'll be back next season and make sure to make our stay longer.

Very nice place, perfectly located just a few steps across a small street, and you are by the beach.

We arrived as a couple by car. The narrow streets in Gradac can be a bit challenging, but we had car parking requested, a spot was reserved for us, and once the car is safely stored away, there is little reason to touch it at all during your stay.

The very welcoming and friendly staff genuinely seemed to care about our well-being.

Our room was nice, very clean, well maintained and big enough with a balcony overlooking the sea. The breakfast was good, with a very reasonable selection. Only, I was not too convinced about the coffee machine. But hey, this is Croatia not Italy, so no deduction of points here.

One evening we had dinner in the restaurant on the terrace right by the beach. The restautant is perhaps the only area that could be improved.

The place is perfectly located, the service was ... trying, but maybe because it was still early in the season, didn't keep up with number of tables to be served .... or maybe our waiter loved to chat a little too much with some other guests ...

Our meal reached us lukewarm rather than hot. We decided not to spoil an otherwise perfect evening in a wonderful location and didn't return the plates, just tepid seafood pasta in a restaurant with upper class ambitions is simply out of the question.

Did the waiter, the kitchen have a bad day? We don't know, we chose alternative dinner places, which are plenty in close walking distance for the other evenings.

Will we come back to the hotel? Definitely, we'll decide then if the restautarant deserves a second chance.

Response from Stipe Milisic, General Manager at Boutique Hotel Marco Polo
Responded Sep 21, 2022
Thanks for honest and nice words about us. We always try our best as management and staff. We apologize if you we didn’t meet your expectations in the restaurant. The beginning of the seasons means new meals and menus, sometimes new members of the orchestra. To keep such a long and consistent standard as we do for over 25 years is much. We are glad you realize that and that you will give us another chance to prove that our Restaurant is the best experience in gastronomy you can get in Gradac from service, ambience to food. We will do better next time. Our food is always good prepared maybe the problem was that the plates where not hot in the beginning of the season.

Whole staff is that what put this hotel above others. Very kind and helpfull. Hotel itself is very nice, quite small and cozy despite that room (105) was spacious and very comfortable. Location just next to the beach makes breakfast with the greatest view ever. Good food and drinks at hotel’s restaurant. Private beach was a nice touch too. I think guests are underestimating the roof tarrace. Maybe that’s good because we where there alone chilling after sunny day.
Nie podobało się · WiFi was really poor. Sometimes wasn’t working at all, even when I got to the lobby. Water at shower changes from cold to hot by itself. Hope they only our room has that issue and they will fix that soon.

The service is fantastic. Genuine and helpful staff especially the receptionists and restaurant/bar staff. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Fabulous location in Gradac.

My only qualm would be that the hotel is dated in parts and could do with some refurbishment here and there but overall, we had a lovely stay, and we will be back next year.

The hotel was fully booked when we made our reservation so we could not reserve a room with a sea view. The rooms with side views are not ideal but the location of the hotel made up for the lack of view we had from our room. Next time we will make sure we book a room with a sea view.

Lovely vacation. Thank you.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay at very cost of Adriatic sea. Our positive experience began with an employee waiting for us outside and helping to park on cramped street temporary during check-in. After check-in host personally dedicated his parking space for us.
The room was spacious with more than anything you need including Covid sanitary kit.
The most amazing thing though was breakfast including sparkling wine at the very cost of the sea.
Checkout time according to the Host was "whenever it's convenient for the guest".
This hotel is not about amenities. It's about attitude!

We managed to catch last minute offer and it turn put to be one of the best holidays for us. Upon arrival we received a room upgrade with sea view and very warm welcome from receptionist Snježana who gave us the tour of the hotel and tips to explore Gradac and surrounding sites. We have planned to tour the towns near by but at the end we did not move the car the whole stay as hotel and Gradac were more than enough for us. Hotel is right on the beach with its own sun padio and sea platform with comfortable sunchairs under the trees. Guests are free to use sea accessorizes owned by the hotel. Shops, bakeries, restaurants and ATM are metres away so we lack nothing. Recommendation is to try hotels frozen coctails which are superb. Surely we will come back next summer!

Our stay of 6 nights was nothing but perfect. First of all I would like to say thanks to all staff for their kindness and warm welcome - everyone from front desk, waiters, cleaners speak english and are more than helpful. We were staying in room with baby and at welcome the staff had prepared a baby bed which we didnt expect, that was very kind. We had breakfast and dinner included and all I can say is that food is absolute first-class! To all chefs and workers in kitchen - your dinner is amazing! Beds on the beach and even soft mattress are included so nothing to ask more, we had a really pleasant stay. We hope to come back next year. Thank you "Marco Polo Boutique Hotel" team!

Our one week stay at the Boutique Hotel Marco Polo was, without a doubt, an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with exceptional warmth and kindness. We got upgraded to a room with a great sea view on the top floor! The room was clean, tidy and spotless with an extremely comfortable bed.

The location just across from a pebble beach with crystal clear waters is unbeatable, where we spent many hours lazing around on the sunbeds provided. It is one of the best hotel in the location with a calming ambience.

Both the breakfast and the dinner were great, with a wide selection on offer with great service.

This is indeed a boutique hotel where all the staff came together to ensure that our stay was perfect.

Thanks to Stipe and Tina and ALL of the staff!

Wonderful relaxed stay. You really feel welcome. Fantastic staff. Location just next to the Adriatic. Clean beach with very limited "sales activities" ongoing (just roasted corn). The walk next to the sea is under improvement and will allow less traffic.
Restaurant is excellent both at lunch and dinner.

Only areas of improvement:
- fresh fruit at breakfast is sometimes "over fresh"( especially bananas), juice could be freshly made and coffee of a higher quality served. A possibility to order omelettes from the kitchen could be added.
- there could be some sort of hangers for wet towels and swim suits in the balconies

Beautiful staff, great local food in the hotel's restaurant, nice and clean hotel at the beach. Everything is possible, every wish was fulfilled - very helpful ladies at the reception desk, attentive waiters ready to help with very good knowledge of local wines etc. The cleanness of the room was 100%. We'll come back again!

Parking: we have reduced parking space behind the hotel with a supplement of 5,00 euro per day or you can book parking place at the city parking area (which belongs to Hotel) which is free of charge and it is located 350m walking distance from the hotel.
