I tried to not be negative as I didn’t want it to taint my precious trip with my husband. I will list the several reasons why I am dissatisfied. One of main reasons besides location that I choose a reservation is to expect better than my own so that it’s worth going away from home. - bed was so hard ( I can’t believe that the mattress was that horrible) and as mentioned before the sheets were of extremely poor quality. Since the sheets don’t get changed to conserve water it’s even more challenging to have to sleep in poor quality. Also- I am not so sure that was a king size bed. We own king size and they are bigger than what we had in our room. Must be old mattress and frames since every time we moved the bed moved as well. - while a lovely idea to have heated floors the grout was dirty and felt I had to wear my flip flops so my feet didn’t touch the floor. - upon arrival I was asked to offer 30 extra dollars a day. Where we already tip above 25% it was insulting to be asking for more. While I understand covid and various reasons why perhaps 🤔 , I still found it insulting. I half expected to get a charge for each bag of luggage like you do on an airplane. Your room charge should be politely quite enough instead of asking for more. We of course added the 30% and then we tipped over 25% wherever we have gone. Perhaps the young girl who checked us in might learn how to ask for that in a less rude way? - upon check in I was then guided over to purchase your spa products. Couple of notes about this: I traveled all day to arrive and did feel awkward to have to then say no to that. - perhaps you can consider offering samples of all these products before expecting someone to buy them the minute they arrive. - the pool - I swam one day and have to say that it was nice area but it was cold, looked dirty but it’s just worn down. I live in a condo that has an outdoor pool that is heated to 86 degrees. I swim a mile a day and one of the reasons for your location was the pool so I could swim. While the weather was cooler last week I understand why perhaps but it’s just again another reason that the 4 different couples I know in my building not including friends and family that frequently visit the wine country would be difficult to recommend your Inn without knowing your changes were made or being honest with each person. Having travelled all over the world and consistently look for the best places to stay. We expect quality since we have been fortunate to have it in our daily lives. For the price I would say I was underwhelmed and deeply disappointed.

The Farmhouse Inn is a charming, bucolic property with excellent service, rustic-elegant rooms and strong concierge support as you explore Sonoma County. We stayed in a Barn Junior Suite on the second floor of a building towards the back of the property. The room was a great size with comfortable furniture, a large closet and two-sided fireplace to enjoy in the room or in a pair of Adirondack chairs on your private deck. There was a fine attention to detail in everything in the room — from the rustic-modern decor and hefty mugs available for in-room coffee to the welcome amenities, custom sign and personalized note acknowledging the birthday we were celebrating that weekend. Our room had a delicious bottle of Sonoma Pinot to welcome us, as well as some delicious, house-made cheesecake brownies. There was also a curated selection of wine for purchase in the room, as well as a complimentary non-alcoholic minibar with local snacks. The bathroom was a particular highlight with a large, jetted tub that overlooks your patio and the adjacent forest, a large steam shower and heated floors. Beyond our room, the property has an efficient layout and is beautifully landscaped. There is a central pool and hot tub with an adjoining casual restaurant (Farmstand) where we enjoyed lunch one day. There are a couple of fire pits near the entrance to the pool where they offer nightly s’mores with homemade marshmallows and host a daily wine hour with one of their partner wineries. Towards the front of the property is a reception building which houses a small boutique, a station for coffee and snacks, and a “bath bar area” where you can grab a complimentary selection of seasonal soaps, bath salts and brown sugar body scrub. Near the reception building is the original farmhouse which houses the eponymous Michelin-starred restaurant that is currently undergoing renovation. Towards the back of the property, there are plenty of lovely lounging spaces, a chicken coop, swinging day beds, croquet and an oversized Jenga set. There is also a “Wellness Barn” where you can receive spa treatments. My wife used the spa while we were there and said the massage she received was excellent and the entire experience was well managed. They have a nice boutique in the spa as well as a stone fireplace and outdoor swinging day bed to relax in before your treatment. There was also a selection of teas and waters to enjoy before or after your treatment. The facilities at the “Wellness Barn” are somewhat limited, but all of the bedrooms, I believe, have soaking tubs and most have saunas or steam showers. My wife's only feedback was that with limited facilities, guest should just be brought immediately to the treatment rooms to change versus having access to a limited locker room. The food we enjoyed on property did a great job of showcasing local ingredients. We were not able to eat at The Farmhouse Inn Restaurant while we were there because it is under renovation, but we have dined there before and the experience and food are excellent. We did enjoy the in-room breakfast and had lunch at Farmstand before we left. The breakfast was ordered the evening before by selecting from a few preset options and was delivered on time the following morning with a diverse bounty of things to try. We had a selection of local meats and cheeses, seeded toast, three kinds of pastries, yogurt, granola, fresh-squeezed juice and coffee. Farmstand was also a great experience given the wonderful weather, terrific service from Oscar and delicious food, with my standout dishes being the half chicken and Meyer lemon tart. The service we experienced was consistently excellent from Sierra and Teresa at the Front Desk and Concierge team to Oscar at Farmstand, Andy from MacRostie Winery, and the folks who helped us with luggage and housekeeping (who even stocked the room with extra robes and waters for the three of us). I want to especially acknowledge Russell who we met at the nightly wine hour by the pool while sampling MacRostie Winery’s excellent Pinot, Chardonnay and Rosé before we headed to dinner in Healdsburg. Not only did Russell offer to drive us to and from our dinner reservation, but his husband Andy who was the host from the visiting winery and his neighbor, Jerry, who is the sommelier at Barndiva restaurant in Healdsburg both delivered great surprises for our friend who was celebrating his birthday with us that weekend. My only constructive feedback about the experience is that we were asked if we would like the pool heated before our arrival (which we said said "yes" to) and the pool was freezing and not particularly clean while we were there. I think this may have been a function of the hot tub being under renovation. We did not spend as much time at the pool as we expected though because the staff set up a number of great tasting and dining experiences for us. One of the most distinguishing aspects of a stay at The Farmhouse Inn is the excellent concierge service. There are around two dozen partner wineries that have been selected by the owners that offer elevated and typically free tastings to Farmhouse Inn guests. We took part in two while we were in town — Croix Estate and Flambeaux Vineyards — and both were amazing. Our exceptional host Thomas at Croix poured around 11 wines and made us feel like we were VIPs the entire visit. Elizabeth at Flambeaux hosted us on the most beautiful tasting patio I have seen in Sonoma, while offering great winery and food recommendations for the rest of our trip. The consistency across the experiences — with the folks at Farmhouse and the recommended wineries and restaurants all knowing our reason for visiting Sonoma (to celebrate a birthday) went a long way in making the experience feel special. The Farmhouse Inn is an incredibly easy experience to recommend. It has a strong sense of place, excellent service and deep integration into the fabric of Sonoma with wonderful support and access to phenomenal wineries, restaurants and activities in the area. It is now our preferred place to stay in the whole county and I think it best represents the warm, comfortable and familial hospitality that epitomizes the best of the region.

Here's the thing, You have to experience Napa first in order to fall in love with Sonoma. Our stay at the Farmhouse inn was the perfect ending to a Napa/Sonoma family trip in November. Leading up to our stay Teresa from concierge help me plan every detail, including reserving for us the most amazing off the beaten path wineries. Upon arrival, we immediately felt at home. My family and I were excited to try all the complimentary soaps and bath salts we are gifted upon check in. Our room was amazing, a walk-in closet, an indoor fireplace, and private terrace, delicious homemade cookies every night, a world-class bathroom with heated floors, amazing hot tub and shower with sauna. For those who are back at 5pm, the hotel offers complimentary and curated wine tastings, opening its doors to different small wineries to showcase their products. We were lucky to dine at their Michelin-starred restaurant on our first night, and have the most delicious breakfast there every morning. As an added bonus, the Farmhouse has a fantastic spa! Can't wait to go back!

The farmhouse has a new menu of spa treatments so I treated myself to one recently. We made a day of it: my husband had a delicious lunch on the patio while I melted away in the Wellness Barn. The Gems and Stones treatment was otherworldly. I was in the very capable hands of Audra who used cool and hot stones to de-stress my muscles and joints from head to toe. The custom in-house oils are divine and different stones had different oils, creating a bouquet of aromas. I carried those scents in my memory for days and days. The treatment is meant to improve circulation and I truly felt that it did. Normally, after a massage, I want to retreat to bed, but I felt energized and had a fabulous rest of the day. Even better was a fabulous night's sleep. The Farmhouse is worth a stop, even if you don't get the chance to stay the night.

How do I begin this write-up? We've been to 50 Countries and have stayed in some really nice hotels, however, this one is at, or darn close to the TOP of our hotel stay's ever! We stayed for 3 nights, and I now wish it was more. Yes, it's pricy, but you get more than you ever could have expected. Besides the obvious beautiful room and bath, etc....it was the people that make this place beyond normal stay's. Yvonne (Hopefully spelled right) made this stay outstanding. She was always attentive and noticed every little detail. For example, she noticed my partner was drinking Ciders, due to having Celiac disease, and with the limited cider options available on site, made sure area produced cider was brought to our room. (Yes, this is the alcoholic cider). Evern beyond the wonderful service she provided, someone in the restaurant, after our first morning breakfast, noticed we ordered the Gluten Free bread. Mysteriously that evening turn down Milk and Cookies, showed a gluten free cookie....which was OUTSTANDING...I ate both! Restaurant is only open a few days a week but the hotels has a "food truck" that produces lunches and dinners on those days. This is NOT a normal food truck....it produced the best meals of our entire 10 days in Sonoma County and we hit some expensive and fancy places. Kudos to the chef for making this a stay we didn't need to leave to have the best food. Might want to mention too that the restaurant also produced probably one of our top 5 meals ever in the world too. Overall, want to give a hand to the owners for making this a place you want to come back to as often as you can and enjoy every second!

My wife and I just finished a lovely four night stay at the Farmhouse Inn. I tend to be a pretty picky critic, especially at this price point, but am happy to report this stay more than met our expectations for our food/wine centric trip. We loved the attention to detail and friendliness of staff including getting to meet them at the afternoon wine tastings, I thought their participation was quite classy. A call out … sommelier Eric was excellent!!! We booked him for a two vineyard outing one day, this is something Farmhouse can arrange and while not inexpensive was really amazing, informative and fun. We had been blown away by his pairings the night before at the Michelin restaurant on property and during the outing he helped us broaden our wine knowledge significantly. Really great. Another standout was the Enriquez winery the Inn set us up to visit. Fabulous wines, all of them! -- accessible, ready to go (already held by them in their cellars and nicely aged). Sophisticated operation run by a female team and this is your chance to get in in the ground floor with this up and coming operation. Another great vineyard Farmhouse arranged was established but small Acorn, served at a number of the local top end restaurants with alchemist Bill who focuses on layered blends needing cellaring but promising magic to the patient. I’d suggest a chance to visit these to wineries would be a very cool juxtaposition. Radio Cotou s/b Coteau, arranged by Eric, also a very cool venue. Look forward to future visits.

Gorgeous property but literally on the busiest road …River Rd …with cars and trucks going by all night. A 4 car accident shook our room at 7 am day 1! What no one tells you is it is incredibly noisy! Restaurant A plus, rooms lovely but again light and toilet acted up while we stayed for 3 nights. For the money u can find a quieter property and drive over for dinner.

I had read a lot about the Farmhouse Inn and was determined to stay here on our trip to Sonoma last week. I was not disappointed and here is a succinct explanation as to why I was more than satisified: 1. Prior to the trip the concierge, Theresa, was a wealth of knowledge and recommendations on vineyards and restaurants. She put together a truly wonderful itinerary for us. 2. The Farmhouse has relationships with lots of vineyards in the area, which would waive their tasting fees for guests. 3. The Farmhouse allows guests to use their in-house Volvos free of charge. We drove one the day we did tour wineries and drove to Bodega Bay. We were also able to hire a driver direct from the Farmhouse to take us on our winery tour days - and Marty was a fantastic resource while driving us around. Lastly, the volvos were driven by Farmhouse staff to take us into Healdsburg for dinners each night, which was complimentary. 4. The spa was incredible 5. The little touches - from milk and cookies every night by our bed to the fire pits and homemade smores every night - were really special. 6. The cottage room along the path (rooms 5-8) were very spacious, with a living room and separate bedroom, as well as a sauna in the bathroom. The ONLY negative to this review is that the descriptions and pictures on the website are slightly misleading. We booked a Farmhouse King, as did our friends. The cottage we actually got was a million times better than what I had expected. Our friends, on the other hand, were put in the true Farmhouse king, which was a room above the restaurant. That room was very small with an odd shower situation. That being said, when the manager, Matthew, found out how disappointed our friends were about the room he moved them the next day into one of the cottages. It's all those little touches that make the Farmhouse special and worth staying there!

Beautiful property with incredible staff. I loved the vibe of the room, and the pool area - very California cottage chic. The restaurant on property is also excellent while also being warm and friendly. In-room dining experience needs to be stepped up, breakfast menu and execution was average. Overall I'd definitely recommend this Inn.
