Beautiful property, fabulous restaurant, incredibly nice/helpful staff. What a charming place in a beautiful part of the country. The Farmhouse Inn was our first stay in a multi-site California wine country vacation. The only disappointment was that no other place we stayed could compete with the hospitality and standards of this one!

The Farmhouse Inn experience is simply unparalleled in its visual appeal, room environment, dining, amenities, and concierge service. I’m mildly horrified that some of the other reviewers found anything to complain about! I have to give shout-outs to Letisha, Russell, Eric, Teresa, Avery, and Cassandra for making our 20th anniversary magical. It’s a pricey stay, but arguably worth every penny. Visual appeal: my wife and I had the fortune of visiting Sonoma County for a week of sunny, warm days, but we were blown away by how stunning the resort is. The natural beauty is coupled with meticulous grounds care that really shows (including things like the walking path gravel being raked in patterns daily). Room environment: just to list a few of the room’s features (we stayed in a barn junior suite), our room included a steam shower, soaking tub, heated bathroom floors, indoor/outdoor gas fireplace, and a lovely king bed. Even what felt like lambs wool throws on the bed and sofa. Amenities: so many to list, I know I’m going to miss some. The bath product bar, snacks and drinks in the room, romantic tea light candles, cookies and milk at turn-down, local wine selection in the in-room wine fridge. All that except the wine was at no additional cost. Now for the no-cost resort amenities! They let you borrow a brand-new Volvo XC-90 as long as you want (on a first-come, first-served basis), or a driver will take you to dinner. But in the front seats, you can enjoy the in-seat massage! Concierge: they are happy to make wine tasting reservations for you, and many of the wineries with which they have partnerships offer them for free to Farmhouse guests (usually $50-100 per person). On top of that, partner wineries visit the resort on a daily basis to offer wine tastings (we missed only one during our stay). And these are not mass-producing wineries; they’re fabulous local (mostly estate) vintners. The concierge pours you a glass from a local vintner upon arrival, and on occasion when you’re just stopping by! I visited often for coffee and a paper each morning, and to pick up the Volvo key for the day’s excursion. And, well, to return the key (sad sigh). Room for improvement: only because I feel like I have to say something constructive, I’ll leave a few words. The room could’ve been a bit darker, but there’s a little window with no shutters that lets outside breezeway light in (room 24). And not that we were trying to watch much on our TV, but the Roku wouldn’t connect, because the room is too far from the router (thanks to Ty for trying anyway!). And if I’m being nit picky, instructions for using the tub and steam shower would’ve been nice. But that’s not bringing me down from 5 stars!

Wonderful stay! My wife and I recently returned to Farmhouse with a small work retreat. Having stayed in the past we knew that the Farmhouse is unbelievable and this stay did not disappoint. From arrival to departure, the team goes out of their way to ensure your comfort and no detail is overlooked. The rooms are stylish, spacious and impeccably clean. The new Farm stand concept is amazing! What started as a food truck in the parking lot has matured into a memorable dining experience and the food is amazing. Do not miss it. We can’t wait to return. Thank you Farmhouse!

We were able to stay here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and couldn't have selected a better property. Farmhouse Inn is packed with high quality details - - tasty bites at Farmstand, heated tile floors, steam showers, well-appointed rooms, luxurious mattresses, immaculate grounds, and several thoughtful touches including cookies, nightly wine tastings, great pool area and courtyard. S'mores around the fire and Wednesday night movie with snacks were fun options. Location was perfect for exploring the redwoods, coast, and local wineries, shopping, and restaurants. Best of all was the unmatched service - - Teresa and the concierge team lined up a perfect itinerary with tastings at Farmhouse's wine partners, dinners at the best restaurants, and a driver. We felt valued as guests and were treated with class at every turn, at check-in, the spa, and with room service. Finally, you will not be disappointed with dining at the Farmhouse restaurant. This was a vacation we will not ever forget!

A luxurious, clean, relaxing, service and detail-oriented stay in nature... trickling fountains, immaculate grounds tended to around the clock, rosemary and wild lavender in the air, clucking chickens, Russian River around the corner and minutes from Healdsburg. Attention to every detail (turn down service with warm cookies, toiletries, warm bathroom floors, steam shower, wine tasting hour, plastic free water stations, etc.) and outstanding service... everyone we encountered from the moment we walked in - especially concierge (Eric) to our favorite amazing server (Michael) at FarmStand, drivers, bellman, were excellent. Top notch. The only critique would be that the pool needs resurfacing, but I even enjoyed that as well. The only negative was having to leave.

I had wanted to visit here since they opened and for our 30th anniversary, we finally made it. Almost didn’t come here bc of recent reviews on TA so I had to come on to right this ship! First of all, this is understated absolute non pretentious 5 star luxury! It is personal and bespoke and intimate. The sheets are not low quality as one reviewer said. The blinds are light blocking absolutely, unlike another reviewer said. We enjoyed wine tasting (they have actual wineries come on site to do private testings!), cornhole (I lost), swimming (pool is perfect), sleeping, eating and massage. Dinner…. AMAZING!!!! Recent reviews describe it as not what it used to be. Well, that may have been true, but I am so happy to tell you, it is no longer true! We eat at every fine dining venue we can worldwide, and this was among the best!! The wine pairings were perfect. Portions of everything was perfect. We left neither drunk nor 10 pounds heavier. We left happily content and felt like royalty. Summer is certainly a great time to eat at a farm to table restaurant! Massages (I had Audra, my husband had someone else and I am sorry idk her name), and it was unbelievable. We both left saying we will be back if for no other reason, the massage! So do not hesitate. You will be in heaven at Farmhouse Inn. Well done, and thank you!

Most of all, I really appreciate your taking the time to refute previous criticisms. Being closed on again off again during the pandemic really took a toll on our staffing and programming. We really enjoyed our stay at Farmhouse Inn. We stayed two nights. We experience top-notch service, a beautifully appointed room and quieter section of Sonoma County. The hotel really is great for those who fly into Santa Rosa airport as it is only 10 min away and they have complimentary Volvo SUVs you can use on a first come, first serve basis. One of the staff members even dropped us off and picked us up for dinner in Healdsburg (about 20 min away). I was really impressed with the level of sophistication from the staff, the pristine condition of the property and small touches throughout.

Very well run Inn, a team of real and well trained hospitality professionals. The rooms very comfortable. The pool is delightful. Why only 3 stars ? 3 things impacted the enjoyment of our stay 1. “Farmstand” and breakfast were very expensive, not generous and a fairly narrow/limited offer. 2. Road noise 3. No blackout curtains ensure a very early wake

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. I apologize you were not happy with our Farmstand breakfast offerings. Since your stay with us, we've added quite a few items to the menu, check out the website for our updated menu - I hope you'll come back and check it out. Our breakfast entrees feature only locally grown organic produce and we feel that $12 - $18 for breakfast entrees is more than reasonable with you consider the quality of the ingredients. Please come back and see us again

I tried to not be negative as I didn’t want it to taint my precious trip with my husband. I will list the several reasons why I am dissatisfied. One of main reasons besides location that I choose a reservation is to expect better than my own so that it’s worth going away from home. - bed was so hard ( I can’t believe that the mattress was that horrible) and as mentioned before the sheets were of extremely poor quality. Since the sheets don’t get changed to conserve water it’s even more challenging to have to sleep in poor quality. Also- I am not so sure that was a king size bed. We own king size and they are bigger than what we had in our room. Must be old mattress and frames since every time we moved the bed moved as well. - while a lovely idea to have heated floors the grout was dirty and felt I had to wear my flip flops so my feet didn’t touch the floor. - upon arrival I was asked to offer 30 extra dollars a day. Where we already tip above 25% it was insulting to be asking for more. While I understand covid and various reasons why perhaps 🤔 , I still found it insulting. I half expected to get a charge for each bag of luggage like you do on an airplane. Your room charge should be politely quite enough instead of asking for more. We of course added the 30% and then we tipped over 25% wherever we have gone. Perhaps the young girl who checked us in might learn how to ask for that in a less rude way? - upon check in I was then guided over to purchase your spa products. Couple of notes about this: I traveled all day to arrive and did feel awkward to have to then say no to that. - perhaps you can consider offering samples of all these products before expecting someone to buy them the minute they arrive. - the pool - I swam one day and have to say that it was nice area but it was cold, looked dirty but it’s just worn down. I live in a condo that has an outdoor pool that is heated to 86 degrees. I swim a mile a day and one of the reasons for your location was the pool so I could swim. While the weather was cooler last week I understand why perhaps but it’s just again another reason that the 4 different couples I know in my building not including friends and family that frequently visit the wine country would be difficult to recommend your Inn without knowing your changes were made or being honest with each person. Having travelled all over the world and consistently look for the best places to stay. We expect quality since we have been fortunate to have it in our daily lives. For the price I would say I was underwhelmed and deeply disappointed.

I really appreciate that you took the time to post a review. I apologize that you had so many issues while you were with us and, believe me, we always strive for exceeding guest expectations and clearly we let you down. I just want to clarify a few items mentioned in your review, all of which should have been gone over at check in. I suspect some how you did not receive this information and I'm so sorry. We use high quality cotton sheets and change them daily unless you request to reuse your sheets and towels. Many other reviewers have mentioned how great they think our sheets and beds are, it's probably our most common thing mentioned here on TripAdvisor. The $30/day optional gratuity that you mentioned is for housekeeping, bellmen, concierge, and front desk. This is 100% optional and we only offer it as a convenience as post CoVID, many people are still not carrying cash but like to tip the service staff. There is no obligation to tip our service staff but most people choose to. I'm not sure what you meant by "where we already tip above 25% it was insulting to be asking for more" but I think you may be referring to the restaurant gratuity. Restaurant gratuities are not shared with hotel service staff. Lastly with the spa, I'm so sorry that samples were not offered. Every product we sell we have samples available. I've talked with my team to make sure we always are offering samples if a guest enquires. I hope you'll come back and give us another try. Thank you!
