Second time staying here and I have mixed feelings... First the good thing they did was I had my flight rescheduled earlier by the airlines and the hotel worked hard to give us the room earlier than the usual check in time which we both greatly appreciate as we were exhausted from traveling... They are also kind enough to arrange the room on the ground floor as requested and even provided us cake and a wine bottle for the birthday celebration that was really a kind gesture... The room really has signs of ageing and the sofa was dusty... Moreover more than half of the hotel is undergoing renovations and my block only few rooms are available and the others are closed with some plywoods that gives the creepy feeling...

...As said above we had a stellar time at the Tanjung Rhu and would strongly recommend it but it is no longer the 5* hotel that it was once was but they are not charging 5* prices, but if you go there expecting a 5* resort you might be disappointed but if 4* is sufficient ........... Although the breakfast was superb the evening meals were below par, a good a la cart menu but the local food menu although tasty and filling consisted mainly of the same ingredient served as either rice or different noodle dishes, The chefs specials were expensive and not particularly good, my wife had the Grouper one night and the portion was very small and she was not at all sure it was Grouper as it was very oily, similarly when she had the Sea Bass from the international menu the fish was tiny and she needed something else to fill her up... BUT, if you go not expecting 5* and can ignore the points above you will have an amazing stay at a very reasonable price, if you want 5* though there are other resort hotels but you will pay more than 3 times the price...

...Sadly I was a little disappointed this time around... The most disappointing part of our trip is definitely from the Sands restaurant... There was no love put into the food which we understand it's Ramadan but there are other guest too it's really frustrating to have such breakfast... I hated the breakfast part of the hotel and the food in general... Its so sad because the hotel is located on a beautiful beach and the view is amazing on the beach however of there is no effort is upgrading their current service I believe they are not gonna have returning customers...

We are about to wrap up a very pleasant family stay at a wonderful hotel... Each morning and evening, low tide offered the chance to walk out to the small islands in the bay and we could just be picked up on the hotel beach to explore the mangroves and the caves and see the eagles swooping down at close quarters... We loved the signature buffet - thank you... They wanted to make our stay memorable and any issues were dealt with swiftly... Aniq and Faz displayed warmth and efficiency in this regard...

...We stayed 4 nights in a Bayu Senja Suite, it was enormous, very well appointed, clean and very comfortable... The staff also need a mention as they were the stars of the hotel, always impeccably polite and helpful and without fail acknowledged you when they passed, 5*'s to the staff!... Although the breakfast was superb the evening meals were below par, a good a la cart menu but the local food menu although tasty and filling consisted mainly of the same ingredient served as either rice or different noodle dishes, The chefs specials were expensive and not particularly good, my wife had the Grouper one night and the portion was very small and she was not at all sure it was Grouper as it was very oily, similarly when she had the Sea Bass from the international menu the fish was tiny and she needed something else to fill her up...

You're guaranteed a smile and a warm greeting from everyone you come across whether it's the gardeners, front office, F&B or cleaning staff... There are too many fabulous people to name them all individually, but Hasnidah and her outstanding team at Sands deserve special mention for their dedicated, friendly, flawless service... We're so glad that the Tanjung Rhu came through the tough years of the pandemic and is ready to face the world again, even better and more determined to please than ever...

...The beautiful resort was truly peaceful, immaculate and met all of our needs... Tanjung Rhu certainly met these expectations... We were met by the very friendly staff on arrival at the hotel for check in, and they got everything sorted for us... My partner and I were treated with respect and were in turn respectful ourselves of the culture and expectations... The pool areas were quiet, polished and spacious... We also met Ameran, the manager, who checked we were being looked after by his staff... Thank you Tanjung Rhu and all the staff there for such a lovely stay...

...Although my room had a blackout for few minutes due to short circuit, the staff provided help immediately and offered to move to a different room... The sands restaurant has prepared the best fish and chips I ever had ❤️ although i read other visitors said the renovations are dimming the beauty of the resort, I wouldn’t agree with that...

We like to particularly thank Fazilah with her wonderful and thoughtful decorations in our room for the 38th wedding anniversary... Also like to mention Shahira the waitress and her niece at the sands restaurant for taking very good care of us... Thank you for making our stay a memobarable one...

...Booked Damai Suite and it is spacious for two people... We loved they have a clean private beach... If you don’t want to use a rental car, advisable to arrange a taxi/airport transfer in advance since the hotel is 30 min away from the airport...

Been coming to this truly wonderful hotel for many many years, and it remains very firmly our favourite destination in the World... Whilst the Hotel itself has an incredible location and setting, what makes this hotel special is their staff... Each and every one of them are so helpful, always happy, and keen to make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as they can... washed down with an ice cold Draught Tiger beer... Or just hire a boat for a private tour out around the coastline... We cant wait for our return visit to this wonderful hotel, that has a 'Heart' as big as it ever gets...

His management has made the last few days at Tanjung Rhu much more relaxing and befitting the reputation of the hotel and its beautiful surroundings... Iveti (apologies if fuzzy on spelling) who after working hours and before going on holiday gave me an impromptu, easygoing ride to a Friday night market when Grab cars were unavailable; 3... Aniq for helping to top up my mobile account and being wryly funny; 4... The dinner staff who are always pleasant and offer good suggestions...

...The room was lovely, I had a garden view room - large comfortable bed, great bathroom area and a small balcony. The room was well stocked with bottled water, hot drinks, toiletries etc... There are other areas to sit and relax like the reading room, coffee shop lounge area etc But, without exception, the main asset of the hotel is its staff... It is a bit out of town so if you wanted to visit other parts of the island you use a taxi...

...We were greeted and escorted to the first class as VIP guests. Langkawi Island is small, so the transfer from the airport to the hotel takes about 30-40 minutes... In the same time, you can get to the opposite end of the island... 2) The staff is very friendly and tries to please in any request... The beach is cleaned and leveled every morning...

...In a unique & ideal position, we enjoyed stunning views of the many islands of the region in this peaceful cape in the Andaman sea from wherever we were positioned in this magnificent resort. Seaview rooms are a must if you like to wake to the tranquil view... Frozen margaritas are fabulous & pools are superb!!... Thank you to the team especially Ebau, Anni, Chuffy, Zyfirah & wonderful restaurant staff who made our stay so delightful...

...We are about to wrap up a very pleasant family stay at a wonderful hotel. Our room enjoyed the best vistas across the Andaman Sea to Thailand's islands... It was hugely spacious and equipped with a huge comfortable bed a jacuzzi bath... Each morning and evening, low tide offered the chance to walk out to the small islands in the bay and we could just be picked up on the hotel beach to explore the mangroves and the caves and see the eagles swooping down at close quarters... We loved the signature buffet - thank you... They wanted to make our stay memorable and any issues were dealt with swiftly...

...Arrival was a good welcome drink came by request but Al staff specialy Madam Zati was very attentive and by some missing and problems help us well and also every request was managed in best way!... The restaurants offer good food and buffets... Two pools are both good to use, and the adult pool bar team is AMAZING , friendly, and funny !... You always get a beach or pool lounger !... Beach is nearly empty, and the shops/restaurants beside the hotel are good for a snorkelling or quick lunch or chilled coconut !... We enjoyed the stay with nice room, breath taking view but with a construction activity that's compensate by beach, pool and price !also everything in good shape and clean...

We were met by the very friendly staff on arrival at the hotel for check in, and they got everything sorted for us... Our room was stunning, we had the view of the back of the resort (car park) but with that said, being on the 3rd floor we had a canopy view of the luscious trees and got a live view of the cheeky monkeys that were fighting and climbing between the trees... I felt fully immersed catching up on my emails with my coffee on the balcony in the morning!... The pool areas were quiet, polished and spacious... In addition, the food was very reasonably priced (£10 for a main and a few pounds for a drink)... Thank you Tanjung Rhu and all the staff there for such a lovely stay...

Clean and private, a secluded resort nestled at the far end of the northern part of Langkawi Island, nearby the Four Seasons Resort... The outdoor area is well kept and clean... The room is huge with separate sleeping area and living area and the shower/wash room is equally huge with a nice bath tub... As this is a small resort with average number of guest rooms, the privacy can be assured as there are no huge maddening crowd at any one time... This resort seems to cater more towards foreigners especially Europeans and East Asians...

The gardens and pools in the hotel grounds were very attractive and created a very opulent feel but the real wow were the two swimming pool complexes, one for families and one for adults only, although when we were there very few children were in the pool and when they were they were VERY well behaved... I can't adequately describe the pools but they were amazing, a real 5* experience... Breakfast was a highlight of the day, buffet style with every possible option you could think of including egg and pancake stations, I could have stayed there all day eating... The hotel is essentially a circle built around gardens and pools, only half of the hotel is open the other half in the process of a total renovation...

The huge, super-comfortable bed and premium linens allowed us to sleep long and deeply; the luxurious bathroom on its own is larger than many hotel rooms and the entrance lounge completes a front-to-back suite experience that guarantees you peace and quiet... There are two huge pool areas at opposite ends of the resort, each with its own F&B outlet... The 60m Sunset pool caters to families while the 50m Sands pool is a haven of peace and quiet for adults only... You're guaranteed a smile and a warm greeting from everyone you come across whether it's the gardeners, front office, F&B or cleaning staff...

...Amazing, extremely friendly staff. Location is simply amazing with pristine, white beaches and casuarina trees... The resort is surrounded by lots of trees, we even spotted a group of Dusky Leaf monkeys... King size bed was very comfortable, we slept so well!... We booked a Mangrove + Snorkelling tour directly with the hotel, tour was excellent... You can book a rental car directly at the hotel too... Hailing a Grab car was easy and convenient from the resort... We went for massages twice, the masseuses were skilled... Buffet breakfast with many choices... Also dined at the Saffron Bar (great pizzas) and Sands Restaurant (buffet and a la carte) with good selection of choices... The resort was recently acquired by new owners (Sept 2022) and they are working on upgrading the grounds and buildings...

...First the good thing they did was I had my flight rescheduled earlier by the airlines and the hotel worked hard to give us the room earlier than the usual check in time which we both greatly appreciate as we were exhausted from traveling. They are also kind enough to arrange the room on the ground floor as requested and even provided us cake and a wine bottle for the birthday celebration that was really a kind gesture... The front desk I'm not sure of his name Aniq maybe, he gave us a really good service... Its so sad because the hotel is located on a beautiful beach and the view is amazing on the beach however of there is no effort is upgrading their current service I believe they are not gonna have returning customers...

The breakfast buffet features Malaysian and Western favourites - and chilled Prosecco!... The yoga class run by the lovely Shinny was a good way to wind down, just before sunset, in the gorgeous garden... It's the perfect hotel if you don't like crowds but love chilling, sipping cocktails, in between dipping into the pool or the sea, or reading your book, in a beautiful and tranquil place... Tip 2: Book a massage at The Spa for an hour (or two) of utter bliss!...

The beach is truly magnificent, and if you treat yourself to a beach front Suite, you will wake to the most stunning views every morning... Each and every one of them are so helpful, always happy, and keen to make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as they can... You can chill on a sun bed, or go for a long stroll along its shores, and then enjoy a cocktail or two, or a young Coconut, a real favourite of mine... Great to be able to have a gentle swim in the serenity of the surrounding at the Sands area... If you're a Pizza lover, then their Wood Oven menu is a must... washed down with an ice cold Draught Tiger beer... Or just hire a boat for a private tour out around the coastline... Tanjung Rhu resort-Theres No Place Like it......

You can sit in balcony gazing at the serene sea scapes or lie in bed and enjoy the same view !... Breakfast spread is sumptuous aswell, with wide variety of choices... We would not hesitate to revisit Tanjung Rhu in future & highly recommend it to fellow travellers...

We were greeted and escorted to the first class as VIP guests... Langkawi Island is small, so the transfer from the airport to the hotel takes about 30-40 minutes... The beach is cleaned and leveled every morning... Very beautiful design of the pools, I didn't want to leave them... 4) The sand is pleasant, the entry into the sea is shallow, there are no waves... Further along the beach you can find various tour sellers and a local cafe... A huge bed, good cosmetics... The food is on the menu at reasonable prices, they cook well... This is a quiet place where you can enjoy the beautiful views and relax from the hustle and bustle...

The sea here is very calm, the scenery is quiet, it is far away from the hustle and bustle, and it is close to the starting point of the mangrove tour, which is very convenient.Highly recommend !!...
