Nice place along the Gold River in historic Folsom. Place is a bit worn, rooms are fairly large. Has a breakfast place open from 6:30-10:30am. Walking down to the river was nice, and there are quite a few restaurants nearby, though none was open late that i could tell.

Mixed review--much was fine location very good. Bartenders and desk staff were great. Employees running breakfast service--2 young women-- blew it. Breakfast til 10:30. At 10:26 I was --very rudely and dismissive, without apology, "we're closed". I questioned the time and was told they closed the kitchen at 10:25. I could have coffee if I wanted. She then charged me $3.50. I asked to speak to a manager, was told to go to the front desk as she turned around and walked away! Front staff told manager. Manager did not come out, staff were told to give me the business card of the food and beverage manager and take it up with him. Sent him an email. Following day it's the playoffs starting at noon. Staff, who obviously were going to be there cleaning up, said we couldn't come in to watch the game (at the bar, only big screen tv in the place) "no one is allowed in". Explained it's a play off game, they are losing business, got a shoulder shrug. Told bartender would be there at 2. We weren't the only disappointed ones. Left a message for Bev manager. We went to the store and are watching the 49-ER game in our room!!! The "no" hotel! Not happy at all. This will impact my future stays in folsom. It won't be here. Over one hour later--3 employees there including the original two. Standing by the bar laughing and shooting the breeze, dirty look...wow. PS A shout out to the bartenders (Kao and Justin). They were awesome, friendly, great. Front desk staff very pleasant too.

Horrible hotel with one redeeming quality, walls and ceiling in our room was freshly painted. Carpets were so filthy and stained that my white socks turned black. Sofa in our executive king room was stained, furniture was horrible and from the 50’s, king bed was old and sunk in in the middle, had to use a credit card to use the safe, restaurant staff was rude (asked for a few napkins and waitress said they didn’t have any, but finally gave me a few because I saw the stack on the counter). No housekeeping keeping, blamed Covid but was told they were understaffed and only have two people to clean ~460 rooms.

Response from Elizabeth Kuwabara, Revenue Management at Lake Natoma Inn
Responded Jan 17, 2023
So sorry to your stay with us did not meet your expectations. Our hotel was built in the 90's and we have updated our furnishings since then. We are planning renovations to all our guest rooms, which will take place over the next few years. Due to supply chain issues, it will take longer than we would like. We have 136 rooms here (not 460) and we do still have policies in place to keep our housekeeping department in limited contact with guests because of COVID. A credit card in not required or charged to access the in room safe. We do appreciate your feedback.

This was our second stay at Lake natoma.inn what a change for the bad. We booked a seven day stay after day two we had to leave. Day one at there included rotten breakfast I asked a employee to please clean the syrup off our table when this girl Maria called me stupid in Spanish to the other employee we’ll surprise to her I speak Spanish when told her I didn’t appreciate her calling me pendejo for asking her to do her job her response was oh I’m just crazy today. Well After eating I wet the to find the GM Name was Joe told him what happened he offered to buy my breakfast what a joke it’s already included in our stay. That was the first encounter next was a large wedding party with multiple drunk persons loudly yelling profanities in front of my 11 year old child staff did nothing to stop it just looked the other way.Second night woke up to no hot water called down to the front desk response was sorry the boiler broke and no maintenance person is here on weekends but he’s coming. Asked if the GM Joe is coming they weren’t sure. He did not show up. That’s when me decided to leave the dilapidated hotel never to return. Stay away from this hotel they ruined our plan to be in the Folsom area for the week.

Response from Elizabeth Kuwabara, Revenue Management at Lake Natoma Inn

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance that our hot water boiler was not functioning properly but we do try our best to rectify when we can. You were compensated generously as you received a highly discounted rate for the first two nights of your stay and given 50% off your 3rd night since that was the night the hot water was out. So sorry you did not enjoy your stay.

Not great, not terrible. Could have been cleaner in the elevators and hallways. There was a lot of outside noise during the night on the weekend, but that's not the fault of the hotel. The location, on the other hand, is ideal for going to the old part of town. If I had to, I would stay again.

Every room we went into smelled the same…horrible, old and musty. This place needs to be gutted and deep cleaned. Staff is very nice but they can’t do anything about the condition of this facility. Location is good, as is the exterior, but we could not get the stink out of the room.

Great location, lovely town of Folsom. Room was spacious albeit older. The room was clean, beds comfortable and great water pressure in the shower. The cafe and bar was adequate. Breakfast was delicious. The reception desk staff eS friendly and helpful. Our requests for room location was respected. Next time will request a room on the upper level as the guests above us were very loud.

Stayed here with my partner , our two girls and my service animal for 1 night. Upon check in they inquired on my service dog and I gave all the information and proper documentation. Check in was lovely and a breeze. The next morning I took my service animal out to relieve herself in the morning and I was combated by a woman who asked me what room I was staying in. Provided the room number them went up the elevator to my room. Received a phone call stating that I will charged (after we had already stayed our night)$200 on top of our room rate. If I would have I now this I would have taken my business elsewhere. Since we had already been checked in properly, stayed the night and now being told of this up charge there was nothing I could do. They gave the card to the manager. After called twice a day for a week I finally reached the manager. I emailed her over all the proper documentation about my service animal then was told they will refund my card. It’s now December and they have not returned my calls nor refunded my account. Nice Hotel however will NEVER stay here to do their discrimination of service animals. There are other hotels that will gladly accommodate you. If i had known this prior to checking it n I would have never stayed there.

We were looking for a place to stay while attending a soccer tournament. As hotels in the area were scarce we just happened to find this hotel. It was an awesome find. The property is beautiful next to the lake and has a great ambiance. The staff were very friendly and the room was nice as well. It is also located downtown with plenty to do and see. The hotel also has a full bar and restaurant. While we didn’t eat there, the food smelled delicious. We did enjoy the hot tub and had a great time. We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we are planning a return trip for a couples weekend.
