Beautiful hotel. However the service is poor compared to the excessive room rates. No cleaning service in rooms. Not a problem for towels/linen as we think of our planet too, however, they could at least empty our garbage bins, vacuum the carpet and replace our dirty wine glasses. At 700$ a night it’s not asking for much. Wonderful concierge service. The hotel restaurant Jackalopy is understaffed and the wait is 45 minutes. Not possible to reserve if you’re under 6 persons. Absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. Pool is a bit small compared to the hotel size, however the water temperature is perfect and pool chairs/beds very comfortable.

Stayed for three nights, in general, it was an enjoyable stay. Our main issue was lack of choice for food and drinks. They were using the Bar & Grill as the main restaurant so having a pre or post meal drink wasn’t really possible unless it involved food. As a family it would have been nice to sit and chat or play board games in a room with some atmosphere. The only option was in the reception area, which wasn’t serviced so you couldn’t even order a coffee while you sat. Seating in the bar was for food only with the exception of three small tables by the wall, which we were ‘allowed’ to sit at if not eating, despite having eaten earlier. Children are not allowed at the bar, so it’s restrictive, even though our children are in their late teens. There was an entire restaurant behind that was unused, can’t help wondering if there is a real staffing issue. Most of the staff were fantastic, a couple of exceptions but it seemed that making a complaint wasn’t welcomed and the customer definitely isn’t always right apparently! They definitely need to make customers aware of the BBQ option and open the pizza restaurant, if not the only room you visit to eat is the bar & grill, not great for such a big hotel. Enjoyed our stay, probably wouldn’t return due to lack of options and one particularly rude member of the host team.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with nice rooms and great location near the entrance but not in the park. This caused a little difficulty as the park were doing entrance by reserved ticket which we couldn’t get as sold out all week. Spoiled the experience somewhat. However, the hotel was excellent and the staff very helpful indeed from check in to hotel services. Pool very pleasant indeed and my wife particularly enjoyed the complimentary laundry facilities. Would visit again.

Stayed here for two nights. Good sized bedroom, comfortable bed and lovely soft pillows. Easy access for Yosemite. Restaurant was delightful with attentive staff. We had the cobb salad and didn’t heed the warning that it was HUGE! I had it again the following night but the smaller version! Opportunity to toast marshmallows at the fire pits. Well stocked laundry room - who knew you could smile at the thought of being able to do a wash! Lovely garden area to relax and watch other guests play the lawn games. Good size pool, although didn’t have time to try it. Only downside for us was the yapping dogs at various times of the night. Appreciate that it’s good for families to travel with pets but can they not have a block to themselves - not good if you are allergic and have to use same common areas eg lifts and corridors, or at least a ground floor room and access to the outside.

Stayed at Tenaya Lodge for 3 nights on our family California road-trip. Be aware, that it will still take you between 1 and 1.5 hours to get to the valley floor if you want to go hiking. The room was adequate for four people and suitcases and check-in was quick but we found the beds to be quite hard and the air conditioning didn’t seem to work well in our room. The restaurant was hit and miss. Some servers were lovely but others were rude. We had sat for 10-15 minutes and no-one had taken our order one morning, when we asked a server if they could take our order he said he would go and find our waiter. We then heard our waiter shouting as he walked back in to the restaurant about how we just had to wait! I know staffing is difficult at the moment but the restaurant only had about 5 tables with people at that time. It was a shame that we weren’t told about the breakfast buffet until the last day or we would have had this every morning. The pizzeria was good, and we even had enough left over for lunch the following day. The deli sold food that we could take with us walking. Both pools were nice and there was a games room next to the indoor pool which our boys enjoyed. The free laundry room was very welcome for our travelling family! Looking at other reviews, there are lots that we would Sheba dine had we been informed about it, such as the train ride, climbing wall and local walk - it is a shame that we missed out on things that sounded fab. A nice hotel that could be great.

I've been delaying writing this review because there is nothing really wrong with the resort, it just didn't impress us. Family of 4, kids 5 and 9. I will first note that upon arrival I saw a sign designating this as a Delaware North property, which in my book never bodes well. I'm from Buffalo where they are headquartered and it's not a name synonymous with quality so I was skeptical from the start. We traveled here after 3 nights on the valley floor of Yosemite and were just looking to relax before heading back home. Upon check in we received s'mores kits, which were very cute and a nice touch. Room was clean and well appointed with the exception of a barn door on the bathroom, which can be a less desirable design choice for obvious reasons. The layout of the hotel was a little odd. The pool area, which is not huge but nice, is out front by the lobby entrance and the parking lot, making it a little less picturesque. That photo on their website's splash screen has a parking lot right next to it that they conveniently cropped out. The pool bar wasn't open our first day there, it was open the second day. I was really hoping for a well-crafted drink for the prices there at the bar. We paid $14 each for drinks that were okay at best. We did order food from the bar for lunch and were instructed to just check back in 15-20 minutes. I had seen this same bartender deliver food to others so I incorrectly assumed he would at least flag me down when our food arrived. I checked back and our food had been sitting there waiting for us. He had been chatting with another employee and let it sit at the bar. Food was good. Nothing to write home about. The back of the property backs up to a steep drop off, which makes for beautiful views. They have large event rooms for weddings and parties and a canvas tent off the back which had great views. We found a large firepit out back to roast our marshmallows. We were alone back there for a quite a bit and let the kids run around. We also ate at their Pizzeria, which is actually a short walk from the hotel. It's nestled in with their cabins, which looked adorable. We had a good meal there and they had s play room in the back with toys for kids and a pool table, maybe foosball and darts. Makes it easier to wait for food, so that was appreciated. They advertise a lot of activities. Our little one isn't great on a bike yet so we didn't ride the bikes. We did pay to climb the rock wall, which my son loved. They had small lawn games around the resort which we also played with. They have movies at the indoor pool, which we did not partake in. We did go to the game room that is adjacent to the pool. They had video games, air hockey, board games, a (very) small ball pit for toddlers, skeeball. My kids really enjoyed this room. The best part of our 2 days here was an excursion that was recommended to us on their website. The moonlight train ride at the Yosemite Sugar Pine railroad. They served dinner and dessert while being serenaded by a small band, when we embarked on a train ride at dusk to a small clearing in the middle of the forest where we sang familiar songs by a campfire and then rode back to the station under the stars. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this night was. All in all, I think this resort is lacking because of staffing issues, which is understandable in these times. The location is great. It all has potential and yet somehow misses the mark. We chose this resort due to its proximity between the valley and the Fresno airport and it served its purpose, but for the prices I wish it had been a little more personal.

Stayed at this hotel with my family. Rooms are big and spacious. Staff weee very friendly on arrival. Given Tenaya lodge water bottles to get water. Lovely pool area with great bar staff. Easy to park and good location. We booked the tour from the hotel with Craig who was fantastic. The restaurant and shop is average . Would have been 5 if the food was better

We stayed for 2 nights as part of our trip across California. The lodge provided excellent amenities, with all the staff so friendly. The pool area was very big and nice after a day exploring Yosemite park. We also did the Yosemite tour through the lodge, which i would recommend

We recently stayed in a cottage at Tenaya Lodge. The first night was horrible due to the mattress. We had a king size bed and the mattress was extremely worn out. They had put a double size board under the king size mattress. My husband could feel the edge of the board on his side. I awoke during the night and felt like I was falling out of bed because I was near the edge where there was no board. They did switch us to another cottage for the remaining 3 nights we were there and gave us a refund on our resort fee but for over $400/night, we expected more than that considering the sleepless night we had. The resort is very nice with lots of amenities. We did enjoy the peacefulness of staying in a cottage but would not go back due to the experience we had.
