We stayed in the Mariposa room for two nights and were absolutely amazed by the standard of our accommodation. This is way beyond a B&B! Not only did we have a huge bed, a beautiful balcony and a thermostat-controlled fireplace, our room also had 2(!) bathrooms and a huge walk-in wardrobe! We loved the peace and quiet of the house, only a couple of miles from the park. Pamela couldn’t have been friendlier and more helpful with advice and little extras (when she heard we were planning to walk the Mist Trail she immediately brought us two waterproof ponchos). The breakfast had some limitations due to Covid and was served on a self-service basis outside the room. It consisted of bagels, bread, cream cheese, yoghurt, fruit, tea and coffee. There is a lovely store just a couple of minutes’ walk away in Fish Camp where you can stock up on sandwiches and other provisions before going to the park. Tenaya Lodge has a great restaurant for dinner (and a good gift shop) and is less than five minutes by car. Our only complaint was that we couldn’t find the B&B at first and drove past it a couple of times as it does not have a sign on the road. Pamela explained that she had to remove the sign after inconsiderate people would repeatedly ring her doorbell in the middle of the night so I don’t blame her.. .Anyway, look out for the Fish Camp store and it’s the next group of houses on your left.…
As the title says, perfection. We visited in the last two days of April. This is located two miles from the entrance to the park so absolutely ideal if intending to visit the trail to the Sequoia Trees or enter the park. We were late arrivals due to a late pick up of our rental from San Francisco. Pamela wasn’t concerned about us checking in late and recommended the extended route to have the best view of the park on our way in. So glad we did, it was breathtaking. On arrival we let ourselves in following the instructions sent to us. The room was spacious, well set out and very comfortable. The balcony looks out over the stream, has sun shining onto it as you sit out on the seating enjoying the ambiance. There is communal decking downstairs. The steps up to the room were easy to use and the communal kitchen is on the first floor. Breakfast was set up for us in the morning. Pamela greeted us in the morning and provided advice on local sightseeing baring in mind we only had the one day. We followed her plan, saw the sequoia trees, visited the swinging bridge and ate locally for lunch. We then had a leisurely evening sitting on the balcony relaxing before settling down for a 05:30 departure the following day to get to Vegas for 13:00. As Pamela knew this she provided an early breakfast for us which was greatly appreciated. The property is easy to find, has a store a few yards up the road for essential items you’ve forgotten. We had the Mariposa room which we highly recommend. The bed is large and comfy. It has fireplace that is activated by the thermostat if your feeling cold. The kitchen also has a large selection of DVDs on display should you wish to sit back and watch tv , which had more than enough channels available. The room had its own fridge. On looking at the previous reviews I see the last two were from the UK, like us. So Pamela must be doing something really well to have us all turn up at a B&B thousands of miles away.…
What a special place to stay if you are visiting Yosemite. Pamela’s B&B is very peaceful in a lovely house just outside of the Yosemite National Park. Everything felt so clean and well looked after and we felt very safe in terms of covid whilst staying here. Our room was perfect - tons of space, super comfy bed, a stove, and balcony which got the afternoon sun. Pamela is a wonderful host with so much knowledge of the area which was very helpful. Breakfast and the common area facilities were super. The drive into the park was around 1 hour but we loved staying outside as it was so peaceful at Pamela’s, it was lovely to come back to after a day out walking. Our trip to Yosemite would not have been the same had we not stayed at Big Creek - we didn’t want to leave!
Had a great stay at the Big Creek Inn, visiting from UK for 3 nights. The room was very large, clean, and had all the amenities you could want (even special little electric rods for drying shoes!). Pamela, the innkeeper, was very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely recommend Big Creek Inn to anybody visiting Yosemite.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Big Creek Inn. Pamela, the innkeeper is very knowledgeable about Yosemite. Pamela's insight helped make our experiences in Yosemite more enjoyable than words could ever describe. Big Creek Inn is the cleanest, most organized and peaceful place my husband and I have ever stayed. We would highly recommend and encourage you to stay at Big Creek Inn and enjoy the friendly atmosphere that Pamela provides. Ted and Bonnie
Pam and Indy were excellent host. Or Madera room was terrific and we were not disappointed. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to a major Forrest fire near our home. The Stellar Jays enjoyed eating the provided peanuts off our porch railing. I would recommend staying with her anytime. Everyone vaccinated and masked per rules and reg in Ca.
Big Creek Inn is the place to stay when visiting Yosemite. Our room was spacious and beautiful. Pam, the owner makes sure you have everything you need. Breakfast was well done with a variety of choices. Don't stay in the lodge, stay at Big Creek.
The Big Creek Inn was a wonderful spot for launching our recent trip to Yosemite at the end of April. It is ideally located near the southern entrance to the park. My husband and I stayed for two nights and were very impressed by the hostess, Pamela. She was welcoming, and informative, but non - intrusive and truly seemed to care that her guests enjoy their stay and appreciate Yosemite. The Big Creek Inn is a beautifully updated B&B and is immaculately maintained. I stress this because I felt that all COVID precautions were being taken by Pamela and I felt very safe. Pamela also provided a nice variety of breakfast offerings and many numerous extra amenities adding to our total experience. It was also delightful to have a fireplace in our room as well as a wonderful view of a rushing creek from our balcony. Very peaceful !!! Definitely would recommend The Big Creek Inn!…
5+ Star! This is a beautiful and cozy place that is impeccably clean. It is updated and modern with the perfect amount of homey amenities. The location is excellent, just outside the park. Pamela, the owner, is very helpful. She magically is there when you need her and disappears when you would like privacy and rest - how does she do this?! I would highly recommend Big Creek Inn!
This was my first trip to Yosemite (April 2021) and staying at the Big Creek Inn added measurably to our whole trip experience. We appreciated the effort to make us Covid-19 safe, the beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms, and the breakfast each morning. Our host, Pamela, thought of everything for making us feel at home! She also provided great tips on visiting Yosemite, local hikes, as well as good eating spots for dinner. We highly recommend staying here!
