My mom and I stayed in the hideaway room at the Gingerbread Mansion earlier this month. It was a very beautiful and comfortable, well kept space. The staff there were very friendly and accommodating during our stay, would highly recommend this place to anyone. We hope to have a chance to stay here again sometime. One of the best, and relaxing vacations we've had in a long time😊
My husband and I stay in Bed n Breakfasts for years and the Gingerbread Inn was delightful. They made a delicious pineapple upside down cupcake for my Husband birthday. The staff was so welcoming and very attentive! Great job! Wish we stayed longer!
Spent 3 nights in the Hideaway Room and had a wonderful time. The room was comfy and just right for our long weekend. We each had our own space while still sharing a room. The in the room spiral stairs might not work for everyone but was just right for us. Everyone working there was so helpful and friendly and made our stay soooooo nice. Breakfasts were very tasty and ‘homemade’ (not assembly-line food) and liked the fact that if needed for special needs the chef could provide substitutes. For example one guest asked about gluten free so she was offered a muffin in place of coffee cake one morning. Also enjoyed the afternoon tea or wine and “nibbles” each day. Perfect walking distance to Main Street where we spent quite a bit of time sightseeing, picture taking and of course shopping.…
We stayed in the Veneto Suite for one night at the beginning of October. It was a wonderful experience. The room was spacious and very clean. We were able to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace and my wife luxuriated in the tub. The wine and appetizers in the early evening were great and the breakfast was excellent. The next time we stay in the area we will definitely stay for more than one night.
We stopped in Ferndale for two nights. The town was eerily calm and peaceful. The mansion is gorgeous with a lot of attention paid to detail. We stayed in the hideaway room which has extra bed in the loft. The bed downstairs wasn’t the most comfortable. For one thing the bottom sheet didn’t exactly fit. And the mattress was too soft. The breakfast was mostly a hit. Very good coffee was served, but the entrees were a tad mushy. The muffins were very good. The tea time at four was a nice touch. The cook was very nice and accommodating, and Angel, the manager, was friendly and helpful.
This B&B was built in the 1890s, and has been lovingly restored, in overblown Victorian style. The room was spacious and very comfortable and the decoration was fun, and the innkeepers are extremely friendly and helpful. Very tasty hot breakfast, too. The town of Ferndale is a pleasant place to wander around looking at the Victorian architecture and shop, and this B&B is in the middle of it, just one block off the main street.
The place Is lovely both inside and out. The Decour is fabulous l, everything from the rugs, to the wallpaper, to the wainscoting. The ground floor has many lovely parlors, couches, and comfy spaces to hang out in. Hot water for tea, coffee, and pastries are available almost all day and night. Every room including the Grand parlor has a fireplace, and most appear to have their own balconies. The breakfast was really spectacular and freshly made, and every room gets its own pot of coffee or tea to their specifications waiting for them in the morning. We loved the place and we loved the helpful people working here would come here again.
We needed a place to stay on our way back home after a 2800 mile road trip. It was just a chance that I found this wonderful B&B at the last minute in Ferndale. The house is spectacular furnished with beautiful antiques. Sparkling clean and Covid compliant. Our room was sweet with a wood burning fireplace, antique comfortable bed with soft sheets, bath robes and slippers. We had afternoon wine and snacks and a yummy breakfast. Angel greeted us and was very hospitable. The town is cute and old fashioned. It was the perfect ending to our road trip. I highly recommend staying here.
This facility has wonderful architecture and decoration. The wine and cheese in the evening was nice. However, we did not get a five-star experience for the five star price. Our room was nice, mostly, but the drain in the shower didn't work correctly and the cords for the TV were just draped over the mantle and looked a bit unsightly. Breakfast was very poor. My breakfast consisted of one pancake, crispy on the edge and doughy in the middle, with one slice of toast on the side. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, which came out more fried than scrambled. There was no other options or breakfast meats available. There was no management on site in the morning with whom to discuss breakfast, however, I received get a call later the same day after emailing management. I received an apology and a token reimbursement. If I were to do this trip again, I would spend a couple of hours walking around Ferndale, enjoy the local architecture and then drive 15 minutes to Eureka and get a hotel.…
Wife & I were driving up route 1 to the Redwood National Forrest. Fortunate to stay the night at this old Victorian. We arrived in town early Friday afternoon and were warmly greeted by the proprietor Angel. She was so welcoming & accommodating. Gave us the property tour & showed us to our room “Veneto”. Wonderful! Angel made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. Our room was fabulous & cozy. Bed was terrific! Hosted happy hour with wine & appetizers. Restaurant recommendations. What a wonderful evening. Next morning a hosted breakfast from Eileen (the chef)! Everything you could ask for! A wonderful variety of eggs & pancakes, etc. really made you feel at home. Cheers to the wonderful property. I will tell all my friends what a wonderful time we had. I highly recommend!!!!
