The place Is lovely both inside and out. The Decour is fabulous l, everything from the rugs, to the wallpaper, to the wainscoting. The ground floor has many lovely parlors, couches, and comfy spaces to hang out in. Hot water for tea, coffee, and pastries are available almost all day and night. Every room including the Grand parlor has a fireplace, and most appear to have their own balconies. The breakfast was really spectacular and freshly made, and every room gets its own pot of coffee or tea to their specifications waiting for them in the morning. We loved the place and we loved the helpful people working here would come here again.
We needed a place to stay on our way back home after a 2800 mile road trip. It was just a chance that I found this wonderful B&B at the last minute in Ferndale. The house is spectacular furnished with beautiful antiques. Sparkling clean and Covid compliant. Our room was sweet with a wood burning fireplace, antique comfortable bed with soft sheets, bath robes and slippers. We had afternoon wine and snacks and a yummy breakfast. Angel greeted us and was very hospitable. The town is cute and old fashioned. It was the perfect ending to our road trip. I highly recommend staying here.
This facility has wonderful architecture and decoration. The wine and cheese in the evening was nice. However, we did not get a five-star experience for the five star price. Our room was nice, mostly, but the drain in the shower didn't work correctly and the cords for the TV were just draped over the mantle and looked a bit unsightly. Breakfast was very poor. My breakfast consisted of one pancake, crispy on the edge and doughy in the middle, with one slice of toast on the side. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, which came out more fried than scrambled. There was no other options or breakfast meats available. There was no management on site in the morning with whom to discuss breakfast, however, I received get a call later the same day after emailing management. I received an apology and a token reimbursement. If I were to do this trip again, I would spend a couple of hours walking around Ferndale, enjoy the local architecture and then drive 15 minutes to Eureka and get a hotel.…
Wife & I were driving up route 1 to the Redwood National Forrest. Fortunate to stay the night at this old Victorian. We arrived in town early Friday afternoon and were warmly greeted by the proprietor Angel. She was so welcoming & accommodating. Gave us the property tour & showed us to our room “Veneto”. Wonderful! Angel made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. Our room was fabulous & cozy. Bed was terrific! Hosted happy hour with wine & appetizers. Restaurant recommendations. What a wonderful evening. Next morning a hosted breakfast from Eileen (the chef)! Everything you could ask for! A wonderful variety of eggs & pancakes, etc. really made you feel at home. Cheers to the wonderful property. I will tell all my friends what a wonderful time we had. I highly recommend!!!!
We stayed here two days back, after a much awaited visit when the management accommodated us with three kids. The stay was fine until we encountered their very ill mannered chef, who seems to have issues with families of color and with kids. She was extremely disrespectful and insulting towards us and commented how families like us would even stay at these places with kids as our kids are definitely not well behaved. The kids had not gone out of the room since dinner a prior night but she kept on accusing them of running up and down the stairs disturbing her. We got into an argument and left the breakfast table, packed our bags and left at 8:30 AM. The chef was shouting and screaming and clearly has some issues and can be harmful towards herself and the guests so we had to protect our family and left in a rush. Later the manager called and apologized profusely on the chef behalf and refunded our nights stay. We do appreciate it but unfortunately left with a sad heart and bad memories and our young kids had to face harassment and racial judgement from a fully grown woman. The property is beautiful but stay after checking that the chef is stable to serve you and you family. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends for sure.…
