We decided to stay in the Santa Cruz Mountains rather than nearby Santa Cruz and it was a lovely woodsy experience. The cabins are rustic and ranged around the Fern River's edge. We were in 11B and had a fireplace and separate bedroom which was nice, and a full kitchen. We would definitely return but would probably choose a standalone...

We stayed in the deluxe 2-bedroom cabin at the Fern River Resort near Felton, Ca., for 1-night in late Apr ($206). This family resort is located in the redwood forest on the outskirts of town, just off the road to Santa Cruz. It consists of a number of duplex cabins arrayed along the top of a bank overlooking the Fern...

We booked a cabin for a quick couple getaway while visiting relatives in the Bay Area. The resort is just off Hwy 9, but nestled off in the redwoods next to a river, so it feels remote. The views out the window are amazing. We had some wine by the river one day, hiked in the adjacent state park the...

I needed a day away and found this resort on Trip Advisor. Outstanding! The cabin was probably built in the 40s or so and was varnished wood paneling inside with an electric fireplace and serviceable kitchen. I had a great view of the river, wonderful redwoods and my own picnic table and BBQ. Parking was right next to the cabin...

We took our 3 year old grandson to the Fern River Resort to be near the trains at Roaring Camp. He had more fun at Fern River floating paper boats down the driveway and climbing around the horseshoe pits than anything else! The cabins are quiet and include everything you need, except for pots and pans, you can rent these...

This place is amazing and just a hop-skip-jump to Santa Cruz's Boardwalk. We were in cabin #3. It had a private deck surrounded by the tallest redwood trees and overlooked the river. We had rose bushes outside our windows, a full kitchen, a bbq + picnic table. This little spot in heaven is so much better than any hotel I...

great place to stay, went for a mini getaway, surrounded by redwoods, clean room well maintained, close to everything. peaceful, close to the main road, but quiet, good family place, often booked so if you think you want to go I would suggest booking soon, close to the woods and 15 minutes away from the beach

Cabin was very clean and cozy. Beautiful views of river. Fun games for kids and families. Would love to stay again. So many great places to sit and hang out or read a book. River floating was enjoyed by the family. Till next time Fern River

We loved this hotel. It was like a little apartment we had everything we needed. Beautiful views of the redwood trees all around us. The room was very clean and kept up. Friendly staff. Restaurants and shops were not that far away.

My husband and I had booked a cabin for a couple of days in June. We sent our $200 deposit in January. Paid in full. 2 weeks before we were due to arrive, I ended up in the emergency room with blood pressure issues and was told not to travel. I had to do a follow-up with my regular physician...
