We have been camping at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort every year since 2015 and have always enjoyed our stays. I have reviewed this RV Resort in the past and am once again reviewing it because we continue to be impressed by all that it has to offer. Managers Eric and Christi, along with their excellent staff, take great pride in keeping the grounds and facilities in excellent condition. The campground is nestled among towering redwood trees in the quaint town of Felton just 6 miles north of Santa Cruz, CA. There are about 85 full hook-up sites of various sizes and configurations that are fairly level with gravel pads. Some of them overlook the San Lorenzo River. Most are back in, but there are a few pull-thru sites. Many of the sites are very shady at different times of the day due to the tall redwood trees. There is also a tent area with another dozen or so sites. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance and for a small fee you can reserve a specific site so I would recommend visiting the Resort ahead of time if possible to identify a site suited to your likes and your RV. There are two restroom / shower facilities on site, along with a central laundry room that are well maintained and very clean. There is also a very large clubhouse and an expansive deck overlooking the river with 2 gas BBQ’s that are available for guest use. We used one of the BBQ’s a couple of times during our recent visit and they worked just great. On the weekends the Resort Managers arranged for a local vendor to set up a portable grill near the office where he prepared breakfast burritos and specialty sandwiches. Fires are permitted in approved fire pits that are available from the resort for $5 for your entire stay. Firewood is also available for purchase. There is Wi-Fi throughout the Resort and we were able to connect easily and streamed movies even when the campground was full. Cable TV with a variety of news, sports, and movie channels is also included at each site. The roads in the campground are asphalt and many sections have been recently repaved – great for bike riding. In addition to its well-maintained appearance and facilities I cannot say enough about the management and their staff. They are all genuinely committed to making their guests feel welcome, comfortable and safe. The office is open daily 9am-5:00pm, and the on-site mangers are available 24/7. Friendly full-time staff members are continually working on the grounds, cleaning facilities, delivering fire pits and wood, cleaning sites as they are vacated, and helping campers as needed. Quiet time at this family friendly campground is from 9:30pm to 8:00am. While secluded in the redwoods, Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort is close to many venues and activities making it ideal on so many levels. California Redwood parks, beaches, hiking, antique shops, fine dining, fast food, farmers’ markets, historical districts and more are merely minutes away. Nearby Roaring Camp Railroad offers narrow gauge steam train rides to the top of Bear Mountain, as well as a Santa Cruz Beach train to the Boardwalk amusement park on the beach during the summer months. Henry Cowell and Big Basin Redwood Parks are close by and full of hiking and biking trails. There are several grocery markets in Felton and nearby Scotts Valley, as well as a Costco just 6 miles in Santa Cruz.

Our site was to be a drive through, it was not. The sites are small and really not even marked. We had to back in around a tree with a 30’ Airstream. The ground were dirty with paper and other crap. The first night there was a set up next to us that was partying until 4:30 am, with a open firer in a stand up barbecue really thought they were going to burn the place down. We were next to the bathrooms and laundry. Laundry was clean so ok. Would never stay there again. Empire Grille down town was very good food great service.

This RV park has the potential to be 5 stars plus! The area is incredibly beautiful and there are some amazing campsites along the San Lorenzo River. Unfortunately, if you're relegated to many of the other sites, you'll be shoehorned into an incredibly small space! If these sites were "decompressed" into more functional sizes, this RV park would be much more attractive. For me though, I won't be back. Also, although the park is directly adjacent to Henry Cowell State Park, to get there you either wade through the San Lorenzo River or risk HWY 9. We chose the latter and regretted it the minute we got to the highway. Traffic is fast and there is A LOT of it! We turned back. My one word summary of this RV park: CONFINED

Great site when great spots and amenities like WiFi. Unfortunately, their DirectTV went down and they couldn’t get local channels for Sunday football. Disappointed with that. Great location and easy camping in the Bay Area.

I couldn't believe we actually got to camp amongst towering redwoods, and we had full hook-ups!! A magical, beautiful place! But maybe the best thing was the wonderful people who run this resort. They have hearts of gold. They provided a FULL Thanksgiving feast to all guests at no charge. Not a potluck - a full feast with three seatings to accommodate everyone. ❤❤❤

This was the first private RV park on a big road trip. They were very friendly, with a good location close to Santa Cruz and the area. Lots of nice big trees on the property, but nowhere to go walking or running, as it's on a busy, narrow, road with no shoulder and no trails. Clean restrooms and showers.

We have camped at this resort for 5 years and have always loved the quiet and magnificent atmosphere starting with the enchanting Redwoods. It is a well organized resort with an excellent on site staff. This year we notice small and nice upgrades mostly associated with more attention to the grounds and to constant cleaning of bathroom and laundry facilities. The clubhouse is a good size with a nice patio overlooking the river and the weekend breakfast menu offers a number of selections. The resort is nestled in the Redwoods directly adjacent to Henry Cowell State Park. Hiking trails and Santa Cruz activities are conveniently close. It is a place to step outside and immediately BE in the Redwoods. We love it here.
