Campsites are oddly positioned but nice tree cover and paved walking trails. Lake was too low to enjoy and the shore water was full of algae. Some pretty shady characters were circling on bikes and collecting cans. Concerned that they were scoping out things left out at camp

Our first time here with our travel trailer, certainly not our last!!! We stayed in the 'Snowberry Loop' which has full hook-ups, all the other spots are dry camping(tent/trailer or motorhome, with bathrooms/showers/water stations). The roads can be very narrow, with rocks on

We camp here every year the restrooms and showers are very clean and well maintained. This year they added lock boxes to all the sites to keep the critters out. The lake is just across the street and there are hiking and biking trails that pass along side the camp grounds and

We had site #22. Most of the sites are nice and roomy with beautiful junipers and pines for shade. You are not squished in like sardines. The bathrooms are CLEAN. The crew at the campground really works on this. (They were washing down bear lockers!). Showers are a little cold.

Nice, big, clean camping spots. The alpine pedal path goes through the campgrounds. I loved staying here. I had to leave early though due to thunderstorms all week long. But that doesn't deter me from going there again real soon.

You're likely to hit a thunderstorm or two, depending on the length of your stay, during the monsoon months of August/September at Serrano campground. Wouldn't want to be in a tent, just for the hassle of everything getting wet. If your in an RV, it's a rather neat experience. Of course, take shelter regardless of your accommodations during a Thunderstorm. I have never heard of any serious accidents and we have stayed there for years. Keep your eyes out for coyotes though.

RV's and tents are permitted in all four loops. The Snowberry loop is the only loop of the 4 with hookups for RV's.

38 through the back adds about a half hour, but less traffic and a more scenic route is the reason I prefer it over 330. 330 is quicker but is more steep and has many more tighter turns, especially through the artic circle (the last few miles before reaching the dam). Also, your much more likely to get someone who thinks they "own the road" coming up 330.
