Very clean, good sized rooms with comfortable beds. Coffee, a hair dryer and plenty of TV channels. Furnishings are dated, but in good condition. Lighting was not good for reading. As the property is located right on Highway 299, the ear plugs we brought helped minimize the truck noise. Otherwise, it was very quiet.

First, let me say that I was only here for 1 night on a business trip. But compared to other motels I've seen in the area, this one was the most appealing.

The motel owners have at least 3 motels between here and Burney, CA. Staff was friendly over the phone and in person the next morning. Convenient location, comfortable beds, and plenty of parking.

Our needs were not great, but this was more than adequate and I would stay here again with no hesitation. I give it 5 stars based on the area, so obviously, it does not compare to a 5 star hotel, but it's definitely a 5 star Motel.

For a one night stay passing through to Lassen volcanic park it was perfect. The room was spacious with a microwave fridge and table and it was very clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Nothing fancy but absolutely no complaints!

Dear Himont Motel Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review our motel. I would like to respond to some of your concerns with your stay in December of 2014 at the Himont Motel in Fall River Mills, CA. Guest Review: “This motel is just what it says it is. MOTEL. This place needs some help. Up date the place.” Management Response: We are sorry that you did not find our accommodation style or aesthetic to your liking. We are a Two Diamond AAA Approved Lodging Establishment. The motel is annually inspected by AAA for cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance which we continually receive high marks on. We regularly make improvements to the property, for example this spring we installed all new carpets and repainted all the rooms in Building 3. Guest Review: “Can't find office staff. Who knows were they are? ?? If you need one of them good luck” Management Response: We apologize that our the staff did not connect with you when you needed them. We are a small motel located in a rural town of a few hundred people. There are very few guests in December, thus we operate on a reduced office schedule in the winter (office hours are clearly posted in our window). We stay open in the winter to serve the community, many of the other lodging establishments close down in the off season. During office hours, we have staff completing many tasks around the property that require them to leave the office. For our guests, we are always available via guest room phone or office phone located on the front desk, both are labeled “dial O for office staff”. In order to respond to guests, the staff carry a cordless phone with them at all times. In addition, there is an after hours yellow emergency phone located outside the office door if you were to need assistance while the office was closed. Guest Review: “Can here noise from road all night.” Management Response: There are something that are out of our control. The Himont Motel is located adjacent to Highway 299 and we have made improvement in the past to reduce road noise. For example all our rooms have double-pane windows for sound reduction. Since this is a rural area, the road traffic dies down in the evening. Guest Review: “WiFi NOT.” Management Response: We pride ourselves on offering quality services to our guests. In 2014, we installed a state of the art high speed WiFi network throughout the motel property. The signal is strong in every guest room, the internet access is password protected, and the service is free to all our guests. We understand that technology is not always 100 percent reliable, but we have had very few days without this service being available.

I come through here about once a year on business, as I call-on the Hydro-electric facilities. I had checked-out both on-line and in-person most of the hotels in the Burney and Fall River Mills area. The Hi-Mont Motel was clean, pleasant, had a very friendly staff. Although the bedspread looked like it was from 1970, the rooms were very clean. It's gets a little chilly in the evenings, but management thought enough ahead to provide extra blankets & of course there was the heater that worked just fine. I would recommend this place over all-other hotels in the area. I would also recommend it for business travel, and families that want to enjoy the natural surrounding without having to rough-it by sleeping outdoors. This is a great oasis in a beautiful area.

My sister and I were in town visiting family and stayed for one week. We were pleased with how clean our room was, how helpful the staff was, how quiet our room was and it was located right on HWY 299.

The staff went above and beyond for us. We had some business we needed to take care of and the office staff was extremely helpful and made what could have been a difficult situation a breeze. The house cleaning staff was also friendly and cleaned our room in a quick and efficient manner.

I recommend this motel to anyone traveling in the area. My sister and I both felt safe staying there.

Went to McArthur to visit relatives and needed a place for a few of us to stay. Check in was easy, since there were no other cars in the lot. The rooms seemed clean and were quiet. There is a fridge and a TV with DirectTV in the rooms which was a nice addition. I would recommend bringing your own shampoo. There is very little counter space in the bathroom but manageable for one night. Right off the highway, so the location was good for us.

We stayed at the Himont during a four day visit to Fall River Mills. Keeping in mind that this a small town in Northern CA., this is motel receives high marks. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly. The room was very clean and well kept. The grounds are are well maintained. There are a few picnic tables and grills available if you decide you'd like to BBQ. To be honest, until I read one of the other reviews, I wasn't aware that they were offering a continental breakfast but what was listed in the review is typical of a continental breakfast. We also just returned from Virginia City, NV and the hotel there listed itself as a B&B and their breakfast consisted of basically cinnamon buns, biscotti and coffee. While in Fall River Mills, we found a great little drive thru coffee shop in the center of town. Think tiny Starbucks! Besides great coffee, they also serve breakfast sandwiches and delicious sweet potato biscuits! The Fort Crook Museum is located directly across from the Himont....very interesting.

We ended up staying here when our camping trip got derailed. I was not a fan of staying in a motel in a s town, but it was actually a nice place. The room was clean. There was a microwave and fridge. The bathroom was dated, but clean and everything was clean. I was pleasantly surprised.

We decided to try the Hi-Mont on this trip to Baum Lake, our fave fishing spot and we were not disappointed. As others have stated the place is old but in very good condition, which seems to be true, in fact our room looked recently renovated and was very clean. Of course this is a no frills place so TV and Wi-Fi was about all the extras you can expect except maybe the fish cleaning station.

The staff was nice and the location was good for the rivers, creeks and lakes in the area that us fisherpeople use. The only issue was the highway noise when the trucks roar by but the rooms in the 2 story units in the back should be quieter, which is where we will stay the next time we visit.

All in all it was perfect for our use since we didn't want a resort but just a place to sleep while on a fishing trip. Oh yeah, the wife liked the size of the room, it was large and even the bathroom was large too which made storing our gear easy. We will be back!

One extra note, we noticed the place was full of construction workers with their trucks and at first we thought "Oh no" but they made no noise and came and went quietly too which we appreciated very much.
