My spouse and I returned to this lodge for an August trip for a week. The hosts were gracious and we really enjoyed an improvement in the overall dining experience this season; with notable attention to dinner. Dungeness crab was wonderful and the signature dinner....More

Rivers Lodge is in one of the most beautiful places in British Columbia. The lodge is small and in excellent condition. The entire lodge floats in a secluded inlet. My son and I have been numerous times. The fishing can vary from good to outstanding....More

What this place is all about: Premium Fishing Resort First of all, let me be upfront and tell you that I first arrived in Rivers Inlet in 2009 as a guest of the now defunct Big Spring resort and then in 2010 we More came to Rivers Lodge. Having heard about THE WALL and SMILEY BAY and the famous run of Chinook/King Salmon (83.3# caught in 2012) that the inlet is famous for, I was pretty excited to get here to FISH! I didn't come to see all the eagles, seals or sea lions. I didn't come for the abundance of whales or beautiful scenery (Rivers Lodge is in the middle of the world's only Temperate Rain Forest) or the fancy meals and the wonderfully fresh air. I came for the FISH and the fishing was great! Monstrous Chinook (my best so far is 42#) & Northern Coho/Silvers (my best so far is 21#) mostly caught right near the surface with simple slip weights and cut plug herring and BEST OF ALL: ocean fishing in lake like conditions. My group of 4 are experienced fishermen who don't want/need guides and who love the whole idea of this place. Lots of coves and inlets, islands and bays, kelp beds and points where you can test your knowledge as a fisherman and find all kinds of trophies from Salmon to Lingcod & Rockfish to magnificent Halibut (my best is 125#). The custom made boats are excellent 17 ft. Fibreglass fishing machines with 50 hp Yamaha outboards with comfortable seats and benches and a half top canopy which is great when you need to get out of the sun, wind or rain. Mooching rods and single action reels are provided and heavier gear is available for bottom fishing. The lodge provides all weather rain suits and boots for those that need them and all your fish is cleaned, vacuum packed, blast frozen and packed in Styrofoam waxed boxes for your trip home. Upon returning from fishing in and around the inlet, you find yourself in a beautiful quiet little bay (known locally as Sleepy Bay) and then you come around to a secret little cove where the Lodge is safely tucked away (all within minutes of the prime fishing grounds). The main lodge provides a comfortable place to get a great meal, have a drink and share a story or two with the other guests before retiring to your own room for 2 with comfortable single beds, private bathroom and shower. After a day on the water and all that fresh mountain & ocean air, sleep comes easily! At the end of 2011, the Ardley family who built this legacy decided it was time to retire and the future of this treasure was in jeopardy. So in 2012, my 3 fishing pals & I decided to make it our own! After 5 years, investing lots of time and money, upgrading equipment and beautifying we are proud to continue providing new guests with the same experience of joy and wonder that enamored us to this magical place. I hope you get a chance to experience the magic for yourselves one day! Less
