What a charming small hotel or guest house this place is. Check in was very nice & personal with Michael who explained in detail everything you would need to know about your stay. The entire place is very comfortable & decorated in old world charm. My king size bedroom was very large & the bathroom was huge with a wonderful soaking tub. A small breakfast is delivered to your room in the morning, you let Michael know what time. A very nice tray is left outside your door with juice, muffin & yogurt with mixed berries, a nice way to start the day. Parking is right around the back of the hotel. Just a charming well run place, what more can you ask for ?

The Carter House main Inn was very clean. Rooms were very very clean. Michael at the front desk was calm, helpful and a pleasure to interact with during a Covid - safe stay. It is in a good location for getting out for a walk by the marina. Good take out food from the Sea Grill and Rita's. Wear a mask and enjoy!

We planned our trip up the Oregon coast around staying at The Carter House again. The service is fantastic! We were lucky enough to have been helped by Virgil upon check in as well as for the evening. Both his professionalism & personality shined and was much appreciated after a long day on the road. He offered us a much needed glass of wine upon check in and helped us with dinner suggestions. The hotel is quiet, beautiful and just a very classy place to stay. Thank you Virgil for showing us such great service.

Enjoyed the stay here during Covid 19 Pandemic. Michael was great and really helpful. While the original house was closed, we stayed in the main building. All buildings are based on Victorian designs but were built in the 1980s. Were given a breakfast tray outside our room at 8am. Only negative for me was that being on the ground floor we overlooked a parking lot that people would walk through and we wanted the window open to provide a fresh breeze, so privacy was a little compromised. I'd suggest asking for a second floor room - there is an elevator.

It's been about 20 years since the last time I was in Eureka. I stayed at the Carter House then as well. A little touch of luxury in the area. Only 5 rooms occupied the evening I was staying during the lockdown but, boy o' boy, did Michael et al make it accommodating. Bravo to Carter House for trying to maintain sanity in this tough time for the hospitality industry. Of course, it was all made wonderful by a magnificent bottle of vino off their Wine Spectator-award wine list at 1/2 price delivered to my room to go with my take out chow from the 'hood. A portable fan in the room for "white noise". Kudos for the thoughtfulness. Alas, the restaurant is closed for the foreseeable future. Pastry and fruit delivered to my door at 8:00 am. Nice care package for the drive back to the Bay Area.
