This was our worst beginning of a timeshare in our 33+ years with RCI. While some of the problems may stem from Covid and personnel problems, Lawrence Welk shirked their responsibility to provide a functional and hospitable accommodation. Our room, by our choice, was up a flight of stairs on the 3rd floor, #3471. Because of food allergies we carry the entire week's worth of food along with clothing. We carried the car-full up to the room, loaded food into the refrigerator, and started unpacking clothes. It didn't take to long to realize the dishwasher was broken and not cared for. The soap dispenser was still loaded with soap and the silverware basket was laying on its side on the bottom drawer as though it was just tossed in. Then we noticed that the canister for the blender was not attached to the motor base, but instead sitting ready to fall off the base. The steak knives were not in their holder in their separate drawer, but instead strewn in a utensil drawer and several were covered with blobs of white "crud". One of the two bathroom sinks was nearly plugged. When water was run into the sink it backed up and black debris from the drain floated to the top. A drawer in one of the bedrooms end tables would not stay closed. That was a night time accident waiting to happen. These were failures of both the cleaning staff and maintenance. However, if the maintenance dept has not been told about the problems by the cleaning staff, or by prior guests not reporting problems, the maintenance staff is not to blame. We took photographs and went to reception. (The receptionist get an "A", but she is the only one.) After several minutes the receptionist came back out to offer us another room. She offered her apologies and stated that the head of housekeeping would be contacting us regarding the situation and insinuated that we may receive some compensation. To this date we have not received Any communication. We checked in on January 7th. The receptionist offered to have staff help us move to our new room but we declined because of the state of our boxes and bags. We hastily repacked and moved it all to another 3rd floor room a block away, #3331. That new room had a few minor issues but not worth noting here. 3-1/2 hours after arrival we finally took a break for a glass of wine. The remainder of the week was relatively uneventful.…
Overall this is a great location relative to San Diego. There were a few problems with sych things as the tv remote and fridge icemaker but staff was wonderful and we would not mind staying there again if going back to that area
A very beautiful, peaceful, clean resort. The rooms were spacious and very clean. I love this resort so much I didn’t want to leave. There was a bit of freeway noise but it didn’t really bother us. Will definitely come again
Do not putchase a welk timeshare. They are the worst ever with respect to customer service. They took an extra payment for maintenance fees. I was on hold for an hour and 45 minutes before giving up. They are expensive and difficult to use. Buyer beware
