Detailed Reviews
This is our second stay at the Sierra Woods Lodge. We have experiences in both a room in the rear of the building with breathtaking views of Nature & the beautiful Garden, as well as a room stay in a room facing the parking lot which is closer to your vehicle for quick & convenient trips of forgotten items (toothbrush, favorite face cream, clothes)
If you’re a light sleeper or have children you don’t want awakened by any noise, then request a room that is in the rear. The staff is very accommodating.
We had neighbors our first stay that we could hear closing the room door each time they entered & exited because they’d slam the door. They used the door quite a bit. That also happens at five star hotels which we also lodge at with frequency. We know it’s a part of traveling at times. We didn’t make a fuss about it.
The food at the restaurant is delicious!! Breakfast nachos with chorizo, omelette with side of potatoes & toast, burger with fries, Homemade biscuits with gravy. Specialty coffee drinks are also offered.

Nice place in the mountains. Bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The price was good compared to others in the area. The attached restaurant was excellent. Some of the best clam chowder I've ever had and entrees were huge. We would come back!

I found and booked Sierra Woods Lodge online. Being in a hurry, I didn't read reviews so I had no expectations. We were greeted pleasantly on arrival and escorted to an immaculate room with the king bed I'd requested. It turned out to be super comfortable. We asked for directions to a walking trail and learned that there is a pretty one that starts just at the end of their road. That gave us a good appetite for the excellent pasta and salad we enjoyed at the adjacent restaurant. The waiters at dinner and breakfast were courteous, helpful young men. It took us awhile to realize that the property is part of a recovery program for youth and families who are working their way out of addiction. (One tip was that they have an excellent coffee bar but serve no alcohol.) It made the stay even more rewarding to know that it was helping them achieve their goals.

Room Tip: May want to ask if there are rooms on south side. With windows open we had some highway noise.

Do not recommend. A family with 2 children checked in after midnight and woke us all up. A closet door is shared and the walls are unbelievably thin, we could hear every word and movement. Most rooms face the parking lot and in the morning, you will hear everyone passing by and cars pulling in and out. Masks did not seem mandatory with all the workers on site. The attached restaurant to go food was a positive.

Nice lodge in the mountains. These guys are super friendly and accommodating, and the food was awesome! This time we had BBQ ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and really good fish and chips with a chocolate lava cake for dessert. We’ve had great food every time we’ve stopped here. The Caesar salad with pesto pasta and their breakfast burritos are all really good too!

I had called ahead and spoken to a male person in the evening of Monday Aug. 8th.I told him we would be in around midnight. We were traveling from Oakland and that was the best guess. We arrived at 11:15pm, desperately looked for an office, person, or directions to get checked in. However we found none of these and I assure you we looked hard. Sadly we had to leave and continue our drive as tired as we were.

Unsafe and loud. Security lock on the door is broken. Didn't even provide a luggage rack for my suitcase. No coffee maker or microwave in the room. Heater very loud. I checked out and drove home early instead of staying here. It's winter and no extra blankets!. Luckily I had some in my car.

There are no frills, but the bed was comfortable, we had everything we needed and, most importantly, the room was clean and really well maintained. The staff was really friendly and really helpful. We were there during a storm and decided try to wait out the chain restrictions. We ate breakfast in the attached restaurant while we waited. The food was good and fairly priced. The staff kept us updated on driving conditions. We’ll stay there again. I would definitely recommend this place!

I reserved this place online, This pretty much like a Motel and nothing closer to a cabin as it has been advertized. Staff is friendly and good, However the property itself is in dire shape, The interior rooms are closed to the Motel 6 ( equivalent to 1 -2 star ) and pricing for such rooms is pretty high, I paid ~$150 for one night.

This lodge is owned by Teen Challenge, a network of Christian faith-based corporations intended to help teenagers, adults, and families with problems such as substance abuse. The residents of Teen Challenge work their way through the program, learn job skills while going through their recovery. You can see the joy on the faces of these young men as they are victorious over their addiction. They work hard to provide nice rooms that are newly remodeled, clean and the mattresses are comfortable. The adjoining Rustic Table makes fresh ingredients and are accommodating for those with food allergies. These young men are eager to please. Ask them their story and they are happy to share how their lives are being transformed. Last but certainly not least. The best coffee bar. The coffee drinks are amazing.
