When we checked in there was no water! In the middle of a pandemic and NO WATER to wash your hands! When I checked in they make you sign at a POS terminal (everyone has to touch the pen), they had no Kleenex and NO HAND SANITIZER! If we didn’t have plans I would have just left. Finally when the water came on at 5pm it was freezing cold. We waited as long as we could (about 30 minutes) to take showers and no hot water. We had to take freezing cold showers before preparing for our night out. Then after returning to the room later that night and preparing for bed, finally there was hot water. Then we went to turn out the lights and go to bed and there is like a 1 inch gap under the door where the bright white lights from the hallway shined very brightly into the room. We were just done at that point. Had to stuff a full size towel under the door because the gap was so big. I was extremely disappointed in this Hilton experience. We will not stay here again.

Thanks Nikki for your comments from your recent stay with us. I can imagine how frustrating it was to hear that we did not have water as you were rushing to our hotel for your special occasion last weekend. We are replacing our old dated bathtubs with Brand New Glass Enclosed Showers that make our bathrooms so warm and inviting which is just part of the major upgrade to all our guest rooms. We have found that to minimize the inconvenience for most of our guests is by cutting over to the new showers in the early afternoon after check-outs and prior to the new check-ins. The great news is that starting this week all our available rooms are only brand new renovated guest rooms. We have almost completed the major renovation !! I assure you that you will not be disappointed ! When the Top 14th floor is completed soon it will have breathtaking views with so many extra amenities. Can't wait ! Thanks again Nikke for sharing during these un-chartered times that we live in ! Bruce General Manager

Bay view, modern, and comfortable rooms await you with amenities you’ll love: a communal meeting table, fireplace, comfortable and spacious common areas, bar, restaurant, and meeting rooms. The staff is very friendly and accommodating for anything needed too.

When in this area, we are usually visiting someone in Berkeley, but our experience there is that hotels are very expensive relative to value, they tend to be a bit rundown and dirty, parking is dismal, and security is a bit dicey; so we decided to look elsewhere close by. The Hilton Garden Inn is substantially better and a little cheaper than what's on offer in Berkeley in the 2- to 3-star range. If you're making occasional trips to Berkeley during the day, it's pretty convenient because you can use either the West Frontage Road or I-80 for the 2-mile trip. The rooms and wi-fi are what you would expect to find. Unless you're a Hilton Honors member, you'll pay $17 per day for in/out parking. Also, breakfast is not on the house. We stayed in 11 different properties on a 17-day trip and I would rank this 4th of the 11.

We stayed in one of their remodeled rooms. Aside from the noise and certain parts of the hotel being remodeled, we enjoyed our stay. Also, the refrigerator in the room would not get cold but was a slight minor issue.

Average locale & establishment. Rates are average in comparison to it's competitors. Lots of open parking, BUT it's $17.00 per day, no reason for being so pricey with little value in return. A few floors under renovation, but no compensation for the little inconvenience. So so, hotel, not great, not bad either.

Room Tip: Try for a higher floor. I was on the 3rd floor, even though my profile says, high floor and away...

Thanks os2warp for your "A Quick Visit to Emeryville and Berkeley" review of the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge. Appreciate you sharing your experience as the hotel is going thru a major renovation which we are more than halfway thru completing the Tower. I'm glad that for the most part we have controlled the inconvenience of the renovation for our guests with "restricted" noise hours with the noisey part during the day when most guests are up and about. The new rooms look just fabulous !! We have already 11th floor and the 10th floor live with the 9th floor due back this week. I believe the new feature I like the most is the glass enclosed showers in most guest rooms, plus the new large 55" flat screen TVs with so many device hook-ups for the guest rooms. Thanks Bruce General Manager
