The pros - A great location in an amazing place, it is the closet hotel to the park ( 15 mins drive to Yosemite village) The cons - not very good customer service - rooms were very tired - everything was over priced As they pretty much have a monopoly on being the closest hotel to the park they seem... We visited here 12 years ago and had a good time, good facilities, nice people. Now it is aging, the restaurant is not staffed well and is way too expensive, and the rooms are getting grungy. The hot tub isn't hot and the jets didn't work well. Location is now the main feature here, nothing closer to the park, so... More

I read some reviews about this place and was prepared for the worst. It wasn't as bad as expected but it was far from good. Everything in the room we had was old and looked that way. The A/C made so much noise that i had to turn it off for the night, which is no fun during the hottest... More

Quite dated and run down, but sufficient for sleeping and very convenient for the park. Fridge, microwave and 2 electric rings. Old crockery etc, but quite quirky. Had a spiral staircase to a mezzanine with second bed!! Washing machines mostly not working, so a queue to use them. Dryers poor. Only 3 quarters, but you’d need to run it several... More

This place could be so much better!!! Not enough staff at reception meant large line ups to check in. Gift store and general store included in reception means even more line ups!!! The reception was more of a complaints desk than a check in desk!!!! A lot of very unhappy people here. Our room had a left over food container... More

It is a Good location just outside Yosemite Park. But doesn't take much to rate #1 in this town. Older large hotel, long check in-out lines. Has a store with basics, and basic restaurant, pizzas on the weekend. Seriously in need of an update. Many pools, and some units face a creek. The King suites with Jacuzzi at the end... More

Great location and nice rooms but this is in the town of El Portal, not literally in the park but about 15 miles from the center if tourist activity in Yosemite Valley area. As close as you can get without being in the park (where accommodations seem to book up 8-10 months in advance, I know- I tried!). Nice room... More

This place needs an upgrade everything seems to scream 'old' but on the contrary it's clean and near the Yosemite National Park which was great. We stayed at the Maple lodge(not a river views); if you want a river view make sure ask them when you make your reservation. It was nice strolling by the river in the morning with... More

A good family location just outside Yosemite National Park. Easy to find, off the main road. Good pizza restaurant. Laundry available. Good sized rooms. Adequate parking. (Yes - reception a little hard to find - but good facilities for shopping and gifts.) Cooking facilities in rooms were reasonable to make pasta or sandwiches. We were right opposite the reception but... More

Room was large and we were lucky enough to be on the ground floor (first floor if you're American) which gave us a large patio overlooking the Merced river. This was a godsend as there was some shade to sit in and a lovely breeze (it was over 100 degrees F when we were there). The bedroom was very dark... More
