Our family stayed here to visit Yosemite, which is about a mile down the road, and were pleasantly surprised by this comfortable hotel. The large rooms come with convenient kitchenettes -- perfect for having a quick breakfast, or packing PBJ's for a day of hiking. Air conditioning worked well, and housekeeping was generous with pillows, towels, etc... The rooms also... More

Members of my family and I stayed in mountain view rooms for two nights, each worth almost $200. As soon as I walked in my room, I noticed ants crawling all over the bathroom (even in the toilet!!!) and the sink in the kitchenette. I stopped by the lobby to get a bottle of ant spray and to tell housekeeping... More

The location on the Merced River in the spring is awesome. We stayed for 4 nights in May 2016. The Merced was raging from the snow melt and rain. I understand in summer and fall can river turns to a trickle. The key is a room on the Merced River and time of the year. The hotel and restaurant I... More

FOR THE PRICE: room ok. No view from our room. Restaurant charged $2.50 for a glass of water- not a bottle, a glass. And no, you couldn't keep the glass. Staff at pizza parlor did not speak English well; therefore my sandwich was bread and turkey- nothing else. I asked for no mayo. And it was $9. Barbecue chicken pizza... More

My husband and I spent two nights at Yosemite View Lodge. I was hesitant about staying here after reading reviews, but this was our best option considering that all of the hotels and lodges in the park were full. The motel is located about two miles away from the entrance to Yosemite. It takes about 30 minutes to get from... More

Does the trick of avoiding overpriced hotels in the NP itself, while still being close enough to the entrance. Kids loved the pool and especially the river to go for a swim. Two restaurants; a pizza joint and regular restaurant with a great NY-steak.

The hotel its self is ok when you take a step back and look at it. Yes it has its faults but we need to remember the place is just out side a national park so it's not going to be 5 star hotel will all the bells and whistles. When we first arrived at the hotel we waited for... More

Fantastic spot , right beside the river. Comfortable bed. Great restaurant, one the few places in the US that I managed to eat my whole meal. Kitchenette was good but to buy your supplies at the lodge shop is too dear. Good for access to the park and much cheaper than staying in the park .However, if you miss the... More

I read many tepid and negative reviews about the Yosemite View Lodge before deciding to book a room there anyway. The experience was fine. The young women at the check in desk were pleasant and helpful. The room we were given was huge and somewhat eccentrically designed. The jacuzzi was a few feet from the bed, not enclosed in the... Located out the west entrance and 10 minutes away from the valley floor, this is a great spot. We always pay extra to secure a room overlooking the Merced River which roars in the spring and early summer. Rooms have a small balcony on the upper floor and some have a large balcony on the bottom floor (not all, so... More
