This is a perfect little resort, especially if you are traveling in a large group with young kids. The cabins are RUSTIC. Lovely little cute basic cabins build probably in 1920s. Lovely then, but upkeep has not been great, tarps over roofs, buckled ceilings from water damage, and such. But, really, all part of the charm. Rooms are basically clean.... More

passing by, the shaded pool looked so inviting, we stopped to get information for a future trip. The receptionist was very friendly and let us see a room. Very comfortable old style motel room. The grounds are lovely with views of the river from the modest cabins. Lots of trees and shade. Seems like a great place to relax.

The uniqueness of this place is its variety. You have the option of charming 100 year old cabins to choose from, a modern, comfortable hotel room, or a collection of modular homes for a longer stay here in the mountains in the middle of winter or for a summer outdoor experience! I grew up in Dunsmuir and Cave Springs has... More

This place has it all - charm, scenery, choice of rooms, wonderful staff, nearby attractions. This is a very charming place. The cabins are rustic-cute. Situated on the upper Sacramento River, our cabin had a deck over looking the river with Mt. Shasta so close you felt like you could reach out and touch it. We were given the choice... More

My wife and I have been staying here on MT Shasta vacations for DECADES! It's a GREAT deal, because the prices are very low BUT the choices are varierd. We stay in the refurbished motels rooms, with air conditioning and TV, but there are CHOICES. You could stay in the RUSTIC camping cabins, which are nice and very low cost.... More

A great place to stop on hwy 5 for a night or a week. Economical. The old timey small cabins with cooking kitchen hang over the upper Sacramento River. In a forested setting and short trail to a pretty botanical garden with beautiful river access. There's a view to the north right at mt Shasta. Mostly, you hear the river,... More

Cave Springs is an absolute gem– plain and simple. There's something sweet about the simple life of Siskiyou County and Louie and his gang hit the nail on the head every time. My family's been staying with Louie for over thirty years for this very reason! The location is beyond perfect. You're near basic necccesities–a small grocery store, a hardware... More

We were on a road trip with my father-in-law who is in a wheel chair. This was the last night of our trip and he had stayed here back in the 60's, and much of the place still has that same look and feel. There are still the old cabins overlooking the river. We checked in and asked if any... More

Returned again to this charming friendly place in Dunsmuir. Thank you Sylvia for making us feel welcome. Room was comfortable and clean and our dog absolutely loves the walking opportunities that abound. We will return again and again to capture the charm of bygone years.

I have been making an annual trip to cave springs for about 5 years now and can't imagine a more welcoming place. This is not a high end city hotel ( this is not your place if you need high end features), but the best old school resort for families and outdoor adventurers. The place is family owned and they...
