Charming park with lots of amenities and great views. Very quiet with the sound of the river near by. Dog friendly. The food and drink at the dining car was excellent. Only downside is the wifi was spotty.

We needed a last minute place to stay and we're lucky to find this spot. Excellent place to stop along the long stretch of I-5. We got a cabin instead of a caboose but it was wonderful and our family of four enjoyed it. Want to go back for future visits!

We spent two nights in a caboose. It was so much fun! The staff was so friendly! The view was amazing! There was a playground for the kids. We will definitely be coming back for for another vacation!

Very cool place to stay! Dog friendly and a neat experience on our road trip. A beautiful river running through and a nice pool! Would highly recommend for the experience. Did not eat at the restaurant but looked like people were enjoying it.

Very cool park! We originally booked an rv space, but we chose to leave it home and drive our smcar. We switched our booking to a caboose! It was very nicely appointed and wonderfully train-like! We had a view of Castle Crag from one of the windows. Nice dinner in the dining car, then we tried to make the model train work! The sign said to find the red button, and we looked and looked—— until a 12- yr old found it! (Hint—-think far outside the box!). We will return!

We stayed in a caboose February & returned to stay in the superintendent's cabin in May. The views of Castle Crag are the focal point and hearing Castle Creek is incredibly calming. The rooms and the grounds are very clean, everybody is helpful & friendly. Dinner in the railroad car is delightful with a great menu. The trainwreck fries are a must especially if you're really hungry after hiking the Crags. We get them every time! The live music/local talent is a real treat. Our breakfast was great with large servings, great service, and a cozy wood fire. We love the gift shop variety which includes ice cream. This is great hub for day trips to Shasta, McCloud, and Castle Crag SP. We can't wait to return.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the resort in Caboose #25. Loved the knotty pine interior & enjoyed my cup of morning coffee up in the copula. Such a unique experience to stay in a caboose, felt like a kid. The resort is a huge property & we checked out the entire place. I might even try out the campground if we're back in the summer. I saw a sweet place near the river. The food at the restaurant was fantastic! Everything was cooked to perfection. We stayed long enough to almost try the entire menu. The ribeye steak for dinner & the sliders for breakfast are a must. They had a good variety of beers & wines on had which we enjoyed by the fire. With all the decor & castle crags in the distance.....every picture was epic. We visited Burney falls (1hr away) & it was worth the drive. Castle crags SP was almost next door & is worth going for a hike (ours was cut short due to storm) Its a place to go enjoy & relax that i highly recommend. If your a railroad fan ...its a no brainer!

Such an amazing place! Railcars have been retrofitted to be very comfortable and well appointed sleeping units. The resort is clean and tidy, beautifully landscaped and well thought out in terms of amenities. The restaurant was fabulous and staff friendly and helpful. We’d definitely stay again!

Everything was perfect the team made us feel at home. Even though we had a snow storm the entire weekend. The staff keep the store and restaurant open along with keeping up with the snow! It’s worth the trip just for the dinner and breakfast.

We have driven by here for years and finally had a chance to stay overnight in one of their cabooses. It was really a fun experience! Our caboose #2 was completely renovated with knotty pine and very comfortable with a queen bed. The park itself was very well cared for and had a fun layout of cabooses and cabins. The staff was very friendly. We especially enjoyed visiting with Heidi in the office. Another plus for us is that you don't need to go into town to eat since they have a great restaurant onsite.
