This is not plush by any means, but clean and comfortable and has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Plus surprisingly good WiFi (was able to watch Netflix with no issues!). The staff was especially courteous and helpful, super friendly and attentive to our every need. Will definitely be back when we need a quick break from our routine (we're just about an hour down the road so easy and quick to stay for a night or two)

Stayed 2 nights in quaint little cabin. Had everything we needed. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Clean little place, linens smelled nice, and Laura was more than happy to accommodate us when we wanted a night under the stars by a warm fire. Could use a little remodeling, but still very charming. Will return next year 4 sure

Very old and in need of updating for the price. One of the loudest places I have ever stayed. Construction workers screaming outside until nearly midnight and diesel trucks running for over an hour starting at seven am with all sorts of banging around. Ancient single pane windows so you hear EVERY LITTLE NOISE. Not the relaxing stay I was hoping for.

Billy, I am so sorry to hear that you had such an experience like that. Downieville River Inn is really a relaxing place to be. Unfortunately, Highway 49 is getting paved and there is more noise then ever before. You should have came to me and I could have moved you to another room. I am always willing to make sure my guest's are happy and comfortable.

This was an excellent choice. Diane Barham, the Manager, helped me with the booking arrangements far in advance of our stay. There were 7 of us on a Northern California tour on motorcycles but several members decided to travel with us after we had made our original booking. Diane said, "No problem." When we arrived in the quaint town of Downieville my friends realized why I picked this stop. We spent 2 nights but the next time that we are anywhere near Downieville we will stay for 4 days. The hotel and grounds were great. Very casual and accommodating with a heated pool, although it is located right on the Yuba River. We had fun exploring the town and fishing at several spots on the river. Not only was the staff extremely accommodating and friendly but so was everybody in town. We even had a member of our group who booked a room at another hotel and needed to move for his last night. Although there was no vacancies at the Downieville River Inn, Diane went way out of her way and made room for him. Thanks to everyone at the Inn for our wonderful stay.

Just loved staying here. They have little touches that made a big difference. The kitchen units are definitely worth it. We went in the off season and had the whole town to ourselves. There isn't much open but for a quiet couple trip it was perfect.
