Because of the covid pandemic we were informed, during check in, that we would not receive maid service during our three night stay which was understandable. The disappointing part of this was we were only supplied with one small bar of soap, a days worth of towels and two single serve regular coffee packs. We were checked in for three nights, why should we have had to request the obvious needs for extra items? Oh and two bottles of water at a cost of $6 each, really? The thing we found most troubling was not even once did we observe any staff disinfecting public areas including the many doors throughout the property and with just that one small bar of soap to personally disinfect! The coffee in the lobby that was located behind the front desk, was never hotter than luke warm, and we would have to wait in a line of guests, not wearing masks, nor were the staff always wearing masks as well! Our four day/3 night stay left us with the feeling that here the value of profit was greater than that of hospitality.
This is a nice hotel with beautiful grounds and comfortable rooms and with minimal effort by management it could've been a very positive experience for us.

Self-park of over $20 is too high given location off of highway, away from downtown and next to an RV park and a Dennys.

Paid extra for a club lounge access. Hotel changed to breakfast in the restaurant (which is nice) but then charged $10/child which was not disclosed at booking. Felt like we were being nickled and dimed for the kids.

Overall average hotel - nothing nice about it.

FYI, I do sympathize with businesses trying to be open with all of the restrictions as a result of this ridiculous virus panic. There are some things to know though that the hotel will not tell you ahead of time.

The pool is open, jacuzzi is not because of the virus. This was disappointing as June in Del Mar is foggy and cold.

There is no designated floor or area for people with dogs. I was told the third floor was dog-free but its not. The hallways on one side of the building where we had family staying smelled strongly of urine and when we checked in to our room there were dogs barking and howling down the hallway.

The restaurant is still closed on the property so as a result you cannot get any food at the hotel except a few items for breakfast only that you can purchase. Our uber eats order was super expensive and they forgot our plates, forks and napkins. The hotel bar said they couldn't provide us with anything to eat with so we had to leave the hotel and drive to a store to buy plates and forks. No free coffee, its $5 and water is $6.

Wine glasses and things people set outside their rooms remained in the hallway for the days we were at the hotel. No housekeeping during your stay so if you want a clean towel or anything like that you have to ask the front desk for it.

On a positive note the hotel has been remodeled and is very nicely decorated. It was also clean. The outdoor lounge areas with fire pits is also very nice and we enjoyed hanging out there.

The hotel seems to practice safe distancing with all the proper signage, front desk information, sanitation availability at the bar, etc however they are NOT. Big time.
1) required to request for house keeping/ room tear Down service at least 24 hours in advance. Result: LACKS delivery of service . We requested the day prior. No maid service. Day 2, asked again. No maid service. Asked again, finally came by but asked to come back in 10 minutes, as our kids were just waking up from naps. They said OK and didn’t come by at all to complete job. Called that evening asking for maid service again for next day.
2) Food/bar service. Bartenders don’t switch out gloves after each service or wash hands. They aren’t stocked with product for next day.
3) Cleanliness of bar. failed. Trash at the bar was not taken out two nights in a row. I noticed trash was full from night prior as Nats and flies in the bar area as I ordered a coffee. Secondly, tables are NOT wiped down from every use. I noticed it was sticky and still had trash from previous patron.
4) patio area. No one is cleaning this area. I noticed the pillows in the morning have the same mess from night prior. WHY?
I understand the hotel May have a lean crew due to Covid, however this is when practicing cleanliness needs to be at its perfection.

We stayed at the Hilton Del Mar a few times and every time was a pleasant experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They gave my daughter a small toy to enjoy during checkin the first time we were there when my daughter was younger and this time they upgrade our room (due to my Hilton status) and was super accommodating and patient the entire way. Special shout out for the Min Zhang who helped check us in, she checked in with us every single day to see how we're doing and if we needed anything. Great staff!

The hotel itself has a great location and close to both Legoland to the north and SeaWorld, SD Zoo to the south. The pool and the common areas are very well maintained and spacious, ideal for big families.

Five-stars, hands down!

We traveled with our two kids to attend a wedding. Multiple wedding guests stayed at the hotel but they no longer has a double queen room in the block available so we ended up reserving two upgraded double queen rooms (despite requesting an upgrade - which was a confusing process to begin with) which were extremely expensive as the track had a huge race that weekend. The rooms faced the courtyard with the pool which was convenient when my youngest napped because we could keep an eye on my oldest swimming and we were less than 20 feet from our room. Despite requesting housekeeping every day there was a huge issue with ants. The one bathroom had ants everywhere from floor to ceiling even after repeated cleanings. At one point, one of the hotel wash clothes left on the counter was completely covered in ants. There were ants crawling in my makeup bag and even found some in my luggage! It was disgusting!! Overall, the food was subpar. Despite us stressing my sons dairy allergy he was fed potatoes that contained butter. The “restaurant” is only open for breakfast and dinner which kind of stinks for vacationers looking to have a drink by the pool. Luckily the weekend of the races the bar was open at noon which was great for us! Honestly, if we were planning a trip to the area again we would not stay here.

After a 5 hour drive from Phoenix, my fiancé and I pulled up the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar with easy access. With clear signage, the lobby was easy to find. Making sure I had my mask, I walked into the Lobby and found a wonderful agent, ready to check me in. I followed the “6 Foot Space Markers” to the Front Desk, and even with a mask, you could tell she was smiling - it’s all in the eyes. Greeting me as a Diamond Member, the agent (I can’t remember her name, shame on me, but worked 9pm on Thursday night) covered all the safety protocols of Hilton’s Clean Stay program and gave me concise, clear directions to my room. With no valet, Self-Parking was a breeze. The room was spotless - clean, smelling fresh, and spacious. Beautiful lanai with plants abound. Pet friendly, the resort offered plenty of places to walk my dog, Champ. Coffee in the morning was refreshing as I sit on the patio and enjoy the brisk morning air. Quiet, peaceful, clean, safe. What more could one want in San Diego? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married this weekend, (but, you know, COVID,) and upon postponing decided to take the scary plunge and leave our bubble to still enjoy our special weekend. So glad we did as the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar made is special and memorable for us, while making us feel safe. Thank you!

The rooms were clean, spacious, and quiet, and the bed very comfortable, but that came at a price. We booked through the vendor for our trade show, so we couldn't get any of the loyalty points, which is a raw deal given the amount of money we spent. There were no complimentary meals offered, not even coffee. The prices in the restaurant were outrageous and they served all kinds of trendy food with strange ingredients, rather than basic American food. You are better off going around the corner to Denny's for meals. If you like a luxury hotel, this place will work, but give it a miss if you are on a budget.

We stayed here for a sports tournament nearby at surf cup park and extended our stay to see the local sights. Staff very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is excellent in the rooms. Lots of places to hang out and relax at the resort, very good breakfast buffet. Parking expensive at $23/day, I recommend AAA park and stay rates which save you a little. Also packages with club access include breakfast and are worth it!

Greetings donnabchicago, Currently due to safety protocols the Executive Lounge is closed with an re-opening date yet to be determined. The daily food credit is applied to your account but cannot be rolled over to consecutive days. The current credit is $12.00 per person up to a maximum of $24.00 per day usable for that day only.
