I have stayed at the Marriott Laguna Cliffs many times. This time I booked it for a weekend with friends from college. A few days before going, I checked the Marriott website and the room cost had gone down $12 per night. I tried to re-book at the new rate, but the website had a problem and would not accept my valid AAA card for the discount I had on my original reservation. I ended up talking to customer support, and even he could not get the website to work, so I gave up. Here's the good part - I mentioned this in passing to Sara at the Front Desk when we were checking in. After going out, we returned in the evening to find chocolate covered strawberries and a fancy ice bucket with champagne flutes and a bottle of Champagne! The berries were delish and I don't even usually like strawberries. There was a card signed by Front Desk Agent Sara that said, "Thank you for choosing Laguna Cliffs Marriott! I can't change the rate but I send treats :-). Please enjoy the strawberries and champagne on me!" Wow! Kudos to the hotel for having an employee like Sara who 1) really listened and 2) went out of her way to turn my disappointment into very warm feelings toward the Laguna Cliffs Marriott! She is a customer service savant! On another note, still one of my favorite resorts - but management should ditch the resort fee, really. The forced valet is already too much on top of the room rate and all the California taxes.

Thank you for your 5 star review. We are delighted to hear that our front desk agent was able to brighten your day and make your stay memorable. Our goal is to not only meet your expectations but exceed them. We appreciate your feedback regarding our parking fee rates and will certainly take your comments under review. In recent parking fee surveys we’ve conducted with our fellow resorts located on the coastline, we have found our parking fee rates to be in line and are actually the most economical.

Loved the location, just a series of steps from the marina and all the shops and restaurants it had to offer. Also really enjoyed being able to bicycle around the area with the complimentary bikes available at the hotel. And, thank you, to the server who gave us a free dessert in celebration of my wife's birthday.

A quick decision to grab lunch before leaving for the long drive to Los Angeles was the best decision of the day. The appetizer of choice is the dates wrapped with bacon. Then the tacos with the seaweed shells. Plus, the food was timely and extremely taste-full. To top it off, the amazing view from the hilltop... Basically, can't wait to go back!

Our team booked a conference at Laguna Cliffs. I flew in from out of state and had no idea where I was staying. I’m so glad we stayed here! Absolutely beautiful location, close to the beach, a lot to do in the area, and many locations for great food. We were here for 3 days and I still don’t feel like I did half of what was available!
