Got lucky because my Father-in-Law got upgraded to be on the Club Level of the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel/Dana Point. Club level serves complimentary beverages, alcohol, espresso, hor d'oeuvres at breakfast/lunch/dinner/dessert hours. And the hor d'oeuvres were actually very good. For example, chocolate covered strawberries, chicken salad, cocktail shrimp, salmon california rolls were tasty and of good quality. There is also a candy bar. So, we didn't even need to pay for meals. Pool was at a nice temperature of 80 degrees. There's a golf cart ready to shuttle you to the nearby beach. There's views of the ocean all over the hotel, including at the exercise gym. Nice decor...felt like Hawaii but without the humidity. All of the staff were super polite and kind and professional. Valet parking is only $5 if you buy something from the hotel and get your parking ticket stamped. Staff were always masked. It was very nice to feel fabulously wealthy for a day!

This is a beautiful property. We were upgraded to a coastal view suite and it was perfection. Recently renovated the design was relaxing and luxurious. Only complaint is that it didn't have a bathtub, but I'll survive! It really bugs me (and not just at this property) is the very expensive fees added ($60 to valet and an additional $50 resort fee). Definitely going back!

Went for a 1 night and it was fabulous. This is an older property but very classy and well kept. Views are breathtaking here. I would definitely splurge and get an ocean room. They have fire pits with them. If you want to go to the beach they will take you down and provide chairs and umbrellas. Breakfast views are phenomenal, but make a reservation on the weekend!

Wow. In hotel school, you learn about the greatness of the Ritz Carlton brand. You hear about the two time baldridge award winners, the Mystique program, the discretionary account staff has to create a wow, the anticipatory training everyone goes through and the ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen mantra. Yet, normally, the Ritz has always been a very fine product - sometimes very, very good. This time it was magic. I don’t normally write reviews, but Ritz Laguna Niguel deserves even this small token of recognition. We are staying for one night for our 9th anniversary with our 14 month old on the marriott discount rate - so ordinarily not a hotel’s highest level of VIP. I am always nervous about how traveling with our little tyke will go. We were given a quiet room, not shunted next to an elevator where our little one won’t bother others. Awesome. At Raya, we had a brilliant meal and our server, Iona, and the other gentleman helping (didn’t catch his name) were so thoughtful about our dinner - timing, food options for our son, bringing water with a straw, giving more straws, bringing toys to entertain him, including and acknowledging him, bringing us extra creamer, etc. We left feeling great. Valet was prompt and polite. When we couldn’t find towels at either pool in the late afternoon, the front desk immediately fixed it. When we needed warm milk once our little guy woke up and in-room dining or Raya wasn’t open yet, a manager went and got us warm milk and brought it to our room very promptly. When,... we could keep this going. Anyway, bravo, and thank you Ritz Laguna Niguel for turning this worried Dad into a relaxed and delighted traveler who was able to focus on celebrating wedding anniversary number 9.

At first when we checked in, we were wowed by the hotel, all the staff was super friendly. And everything ended there. We paid for an upgrade to ocean front view with fire pit on ground floor. got to our room, first, my keys didn’t work. The room was DIRTY and DUSTY. I wiped it down with Clorox wipe and it was black. The counters, the doors were SO dirty, drapes are stained, carpet was dirty and stained, the mini fridge is rusty, dirty marks all over the tables and counters. The fridge we had asked at check in was forgotten, Called to inquire about it again and our packages too. Now comes the kicker. They didn’t tell us there will be a wedding rehearsal right now AND a wedding tomorrow RIGHT outside my door. They were looking right at us and us at them. I have to close my drapes, which means my ocean view room is now an interior room with no windows. Incredibly deceptive!!!! The bathroom is so oddly designed, the towel rack is inside the toilet section. I’m completely perplexed at how this is sanitary or functional. So incredibly disappointed and feel extremely duped. Also, management, you’re welcome for cleaning the room for you from scrubbing the carpets, doors, countertops. Should have taken more pictures before my scrubbing.

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the poor experience you had at our oceanfront resort, from the uncleanliness to the disruption from our onsite events. We are disappointed in ourselves and failed to deliver on our brand promise of uncompromising levels of cleanliness and creating memorable experiences for our guests. We thank you for taking the time to write this review as we are constantly looking to improve and have shared this feedback with our Ladies & Gentlemen so we can grow and do better moving forward.
