The Management and Staff are very courteous and friendly.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with our own private balcony.
And the view of the Dana Point Harbor is magnificent.
We are looking forward to visiting again soon.
This is our second visit, we love this hotel, really good central location, our room was on third floor with pool and harbour views. We stayed for 6 nights and asked for mugs, plates, knives and forks etc. and they arrived in 5 mins. Good...More
Being the only hotel directly on harbor, they could charge whatever they want yet they keep rates reasonable. Front desk was most pleasant with me, even after just completing dealing with an arrogant and unpleasant guest. Room bathroom and kitchenette spotless. Only minus for my...More
I agree with most of the other reviews. The hotel was average but the price and location were perfect. If you have average expectations then you will enjoy your stay. We stayed in two separate rooms over a three day stay due to a busy...More
This hotel is older, but it was the most affordable on our entire trip along the Pacific coast. Our room on the 3rd floor was spacious, with a kitchenette and a comfortable king size bed; the continental breakfast was the usual fare, but we appreciated...More

Yes they are simply tell them yours is a comfort dog and they will roll out the red carpet. If possible ask for a ground floor courtyard room these rooms have sliding doors leading to a nice patch of lawn, it was perfect for perfect dog bart. If you need to get your dog certified quickly use california service dogs on the internet the prosess takes 10 minutes and costs 35 dollars and you can keep the certificate on your phone it's really wonderful and there is no special training involved

To answer your question...we are always doing something to improve the hotel. I have projects slated and in the works every year. New bathrooms - 10 to 20 per year, new mattresses (20+ per year) Kitchenette remodels, new carpets 20+ rooms per year and many other projects. This is usual business for ongoing upkeep and upgrading. Yes, some rooms are "nicer" than others and I assure you, all are on the list to have something done in time. The harbor view rooms and the pool side rooms are the best in my opinion, while the standard rooms (non-harbor, pool views) are the best value. Our hotel is an older, limited service hotel with a great location and even better value for the area. We are not a Marriott or Hyatt and do not market the hotel as such. But, we do have a passion for making your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Hope that answers your question.
