Do not stay here. Spend the money to stay anywhere else. Stay away. Thy must have one nice room for the web photos, but our room was not it. There was an upholstered chair which was so dirty and stained I'm sure Goodwill would reject it; long overdue for the dump. Worn out carpets. The coffee making supplies were leftovers... More

They don't care about their property or the safety of the guests. There was a dirty rag on the floor next to the toilet. The "wall-mounted" hair dryer was NOT attached to the wall and could easily fall in the sink while in use!

For $153.00 a night, the accommodations were unimaginable. In all our adult years, we have never seen a hotel this overgrown, unkempt, and dirty. The rooms we were assigned to had filthy carpet, bugs and hair in the bathroom, smelled of fresh paint, cleanliness of bedding questionable and we did not feel safe. As we approached our upstairs rooms, there... More

Wife and I came for Doheny Blues Fest. After a great day we wanted some well deserved together time. Front desk was not pleasant and insisted we asked for a 2 bed room. 1 good bed would be nice. We had 2 of the worst beds I have ever seen. You could feel the springs, dark stains in the matters,... More

Stayed here 10/11 and 10/12/15 at a friends suggestion. The clerk/owner was quite unpleasant and visibly irritated at our 10 pm checkin. The rooms are literally right on the PCH and there is a train track on the other side of that. Prepare yourself for constant noise. Our room was rundown, to put it bluntly. The furniture was a hodge... More

The pictures on the booking sites are deceiving. They obviously look much better than the place actually is, BUT. If you are used to and prefer hotel chains, you WILL be disappointed. Even though in general the place is a bit run down, it has charm. The room we got (#25) must have been recently renovated as we did not... More

I would recommend this to people looking to hang out at the beach , not much else. It's an old surf motel along PCH, and it feels that way! The rooms are ok, I guess, but we also had the"upgraded" room... Not sure about the others

RUN! This is the worst hotel we have ever seen. We call it the Bates Motel (from the Alfred Hitchcock film "Psycho"). False advertising on the internet. Diametrical opposite of a Shangri-la. We booked a nonsmoking king with fridge. There was cigarette smoke in the room, the bed was a double, and the fridge was nonfunctional. The air conditioner sounded... More

Okay.. so I booked the room because of the price and was on short notice. So I started looking at the other reviews and said oh great... Wife said lets give it a chance besides everything else was double if not triple the price. At first look I had my doubts. We got there had to go find someone to... More

Nice management, convenient location, we stayed over last Saturday night; attended an event at Doheny Beach a mile north during the day. Very safe, across the road and railroad tracks from the beach. Was told original building was from the 1930's and that Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplan had visited long ago. Now a bit in need of maintenance, but... More
