Hotel's Favorite
From the moment I was helped from my car by a couple of bellmen, I felt well taken care of. I was there for a conference and we had most of the hotel booked so the common areas felt like our own little neighborhood. Very classy decor (my room had been remodeled just 3 weeks ago - Rm 484) The bedding is cool and comfortable and changed daily if desired. Our housekeepers Alejandra and Ilina were a delight and always available for an extra towel or water. The catering was excellent - especially the sushi/ceviche bar one night. We had dinner at both Bourbon Steakhouse and Aveo (Private room which was lovely) Great service by Bruce and everything was amazing. Highly recommend the Churros for dessert! Also the Black Bean "burger" was delicious...sat at the bar and service was good and food great. Impress your clients with lunch down at the beach club! So different than the usual dining up at the hotel. Also enjoyed a pool side spinning class one morning with Sheri and loved it. They were power washing the street at the residences next door so not as relaxing on the patio some parts of the day.

I arrived early the day before my conference started and they allowed me to check in to my room before noon that day. Had an amazing lunch on the terrace. The spa was able to get me in for a massage (one of the best I've ever had), and the entire experience was wonderful. Took the tram down to the private beach with is private and felt very safe. The Beach Club there is for guests, and you can eat or drink looking out over the water. They also have restrooms, showers and lockers. Hotel provided towels, chairs and umbrellas on the beach with easy access. Rooms is large with desk area, as well as a separate seating area and table. My balcony did not have a view of the sunset. You can book rooms with better views, or enjoy the sunset from one of the terraces. Bathroom has a huge tub with separate shower, two sinks, and toilet closet. Every meal here has been outstanding. Honestly cannot say enough good things about this resort. They did a great job with the conference, but I think this would also be a great place for couples or families.

This resort is amazing. From the time you pull in you know you are in a first class hotel. The place is beautiful and the service is exceptional. Bedrooms are huge. Very comfortable bed, beautiful views from the room. The front desk personnel are amazing. Greatest customer service. Highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful time last weekend at the Waldorf. Starting with the valet, Front desk and concierge people, each one of them was very nice and helpful. We were upgraded to an ocean view room and the view from the balcony was amazing. Lucinda from concierge was very helpful in making our restaurant reservations during the stay. She also send a bottle of chardonnay and chocolates to our room when she found out that I was celebrating a birthday. That was a very nice gesture. The service was excellent everywhere. I would highly recommend this resort.

Hotels in US normally don’t provide water kettle in the room. It’s quite inconvenient for those who like to drink warm water or make hot tea. I tried my luck and asked if they got a kettle and this staff did above and beyond and brought me a kettle! It certainly made my day! Thanks Loudes! I hope I spell your name correctly.

We arrived pretty early, at around 9am so we weren’t expecting our room to be ready. We went to Aveo to eat while we waited. About an hour or so we get a text that our room is ready, we go to the front desk to get our key, lug all of our stuff up to “our room” only to get the wrong room. We booked a room with double beds and the room they gave us had a king bed, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne complete with a welcome card that had neither of our names. It was clearly a mistake and was for a couple probably on their honeymoon or something. Now, we had to go back down again with all of our stuff to let them know about the mix up. They apologized and said they’ll text us once the right room is ready. Seemed like an honest mistake, somewhat acceptable because it was still earlier than the check in time. They gave us access to the resort amenities while we wait. We went to the gym and hung out for what should have been maybe another hour or two.. 4:30pm, yes you read that right, 4:30 comes around and we finally get a text that our room is ready. We go back to the front desk and lo and behold, the keys they gave us were to the SAME ROOM they tried putting us in the first time. We were all tired and frustrated at this point. We had a long day ahead of us the next day since we came for work and instead of being able to rest and relax they had us waiting ALL DAY for the right room to be ready. Finally at 6:30pm, our room was ready. We get in and the a/c was hardly working. It was hot and humid. We were all uncomfortable. For a resort that charges this much, expectations were not met and that’s putting it lightly. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

Sadly, we won't be staying at the Waldorf. No doubt that it is a beautiful property. We surely would not have made our reservations for the Thanksgiving week were we not to believe that to be the case. We could not have imagined that our booking for 10 rooms for 15 adults and 5 kids would have been a challenge for such a prestigious hotel. Unfortunately it was. Regrettably however, the hotel must be very short-staffed and without the leadership necessary to live up to what reasonable people have a right to expect of a five-star property. I have been unable to speak with a Concierge who could and would provide me confidence and confirmation that my needs were being properly attended to. We finally had enough and cancelled our reservation when we were informed that they were unable to guarantee our family of 20 could be provided seating together in the main dining room on Thanksgiving .... unless we were to agree to a minimum spending of $150 a person. This is hardly the service to be expected of a 4-star hotel, let alone one that sees itself as 5-star. Perhaps this is a sign of the current times. However at an over $50,000 price tag for a week with my family, I'd rather not take a chance on being disappointed yet again.

We stayed here for a girls birthday weekend. From the beginning to end, we felt like VIPs and were overwhelmed with amazing service. Room: We chose the fireside terrace, which given the weather, we were unable to use but it did allow us to be on the bottom floor which was great easy access in and out. Room was clean with nightly turndown service and was checked periodically for mini bar refills. Mini bar had a S'mores package to use with the fire pit if desired. Restaurants: Almost all meals were delicious but Club 19 (breakfast), Aveo (breakfast) and Bourbon Steak were my favorite. The food at Bourbon was so mouth watering amazing - from the first appetizer to the dessert. I am still craving the Truffle Butter Rolls that I couldn't stop eating (though I tried to turn them down before they were even delivered). My steak was cooked to perfection and sides were amazing. I would go back just to eat here! Spa: We each had one spa service and enjoyed some of the spa amenities. The staff was amazing and the whole experience was very relaxing. I had hoped there would be more amenities inside (such as a cold pool or ice room) but that was minor. Since it was our birthday, the staff presented us with a bottle of champagne and small gifts to enjoy after our services in the tranquility room. Above and beyond expectations. Service: Restaurant staff was amazing. After some of the reviews, I was concerned but servers were extremely professional, very personable and on top of things. They also all seemed aware it was our birthday and made mention of it. In addition, it seemed they were always providing something you didn't ask for (or pay for) that was just perfect for the occasion. Our server at Bourbon was so engaging and made us feel so special. Every time he came to the table, he had something else to present that turned out delicious! Pool: Due to weather (rain and cloudy), we didn't get to utilize the pool much. My only complaint here would be the lounge cushions were pretty nasty looking. Looked moldy almost. Not what I expected given the conditions of everything else at the resort. Concierge: Tyler was my concierge and she was amazing. She reached out to me a couple weeks before our stay to ask about special requests, restaurant reservations, etc. Everything I requested was provided which added to the smoothness of our stay and all the extra touches were much appreciated. Overall, wonderful weekend where we felt celebrated and important. I look forward to coming back for a future stay which will definitely happen given how amazing this experience was. Thank you Monarch Beach Resort!

You’ll need a few days to enjoy all of the recreational amenities at this beautiful resort - golf, pools, spa, fitness classes, bikes, and beach club. They are shared with club members who reside in the community. The beach club is reached by trams, which travel through the property on the golf cart paths. There are multiple trams, so the wait was usually short. We enjoyed beach chairs and umbrellas there during the day, and returned for a wonderful dinner at sunset. Make dinner reservations though, as we noticed several guests being turned away. We also enjoyed the golf course, but be aware there is no driving range. They have a hitting bay with nets, but could use a Trackman to make up for the lack of a range. The pool is well-maintained with plenty of chairs and a stunning view of the ocean. Most of the staff we encountered were courteous and helpful. We did encounter a few challenges worth noting, however. Although we requested a double queen room for our family of 3, we were told none were available. We were given a king room with a sofa bed despite the resort appearing half empty during our mid-week stay. The mattress on the sofa bed was thin and noisy with visible springs, and was unfit for a good nights’s sleep. We notified guest services, but nothing was done that night. The next day a rollaway bed was brought to the room, which was a slight improvement. As Hilton Diamond members, we expected better. After waiting in line to check out for over 20 minutes, we had to leave for the airport. We checked out via the app, only to discover multiple erroneous charges had been added to our bill. It took multiple attempts to resolve these errors, and I’m still not sure the bill is correct. Also worth noting - parking is $70 per day.
