This is a beautiful hotel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is good for couples or families. The food was delicious and the views were nice in the restaurants. The rooms were a good size. They have rental vehicles on site, which is a nice plus.

From the moment I was helped from my car by a couple of bellmen, I felt well taken care of. I was there for a conference and we had most of the hotel booked so the common areas felt like our own little neighborhood. Very classy decor (my room had been remodeled just 3 weeks ago - Rm 484) The bedding is cool and comfortable and changed daily if desired. Our housekeepers Alejandra and Ilina were a delight and always available for an extra towel or water. The catering was excellent - especially the sushi/ceviche bar one night. We had dinner at both Bourbon Steakhouse and Aveo (Private room which was lovely) Great service by Bruce and everything was amazing. Highly recommend the Churros for dessert! Also the Black Bean "burger" was delicious...sat at the bar and service was good and food great. Impress your clients with lunch down at the beach club! So different than the usual dining up at the hotel. Also enjoyed a pool side spinning class one morning with Sheri and loved it. They were power washing the street at the residences next door so not as relaxing on the patio some parts of the day.…

We absolutely love this hotel and the food. We ordered room service and they brought us the best lobster salad. This is our second stay here and we will come back again and again. It really is a quality hotel with a nice beach club.

This hotel is indeed very nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. Located in a pleasant neighborhood, it offers a peaceful environment. While it may be a bit far from the beach and require a shuttle, the beach itself is lovely and not overly crowded. It's worth noting that valet parking is the only parking option available. If you're planning a family trip, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

Had a great weekend trip at the Monarch Beach resort and would highly recommend. From the moment we drove up the service was excellent, with employees introducing themselves, and really making us feel welcome from the start. Check-in was a breeze, and we were lucky to be upgraded to a room with a fire pit on the patio, which was wonderful for the kids as they loved utilizing the provided s'mores kit. Taking the cart shuttle through the golf course down the beach was easy and the beach was quiet and calm. Farther down the beach where the public parking was located was definitely more crowded and there were a lot of surfers in the water there, but where the Beach club is located is much more calm and empty. The pools were heated the hot tubs were popular. Service remained great through the entire stay. The room was decent sized. The bathroom was large, but could use some updating. It was odd there wasn't a lot of place hang towels. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. We only ate at the poolside restaurant so didn't get to try the restaurants, but expect to pay $$$ for eating at the property. There are good doordash choices nearby. …

Before I say anything else, the 2 star rating reflects the price of the hotel (nightly rate of over $1000 for my stay). If this was a $400/night room, this would be a 4 star rating. I used a Hilton free night certificate so I didn't pay $1000, but that was the cash rate nevertheless. Having just recently stayed at other luxury hotels, it was obvious that the Waldorf was understaffed. Starting from before we arrived, our room was only available at around 5pm. When we arrived, the valet was crowded, but someone did take our bags and keys within a few minutes of waiting. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. He just placed our bags in the lobby and pointed us towards the check in counter - I would expect to at least be offered the choice of taking our bags to our room, not just placing them in the lobby on the floor. I hate to single out any one employee, but Ajay at the front desk definitely needs more training. He knew it was our first time at the property, yet provided absolutely no information about it. I had to ask multiple questions about the restaurants, amenities, beach tram, etc. He also provided incorrect information about the tram which led to us waiting in the wrong spot. There was also no offer to show us to the elevators, just "your room is on the 1st floor, take the north elevators". For someone who has never been to the hotel, we obviously had no idea where the north elevators were, so it took us a few minutes of wandering around to figure out where to go. Since Ajay didn't provide us with any information about the hotel and what was offered, we went back to the front desk and asked for a rundown of the amenities. We were redirected to the concierge. To our surprise, we were told that there wasn't a concierge at this time and to check back the next morning. This was before 8pm on a Friday! It seemed like housekeeping was also understaffed, as a simple request for an extra pair of slippers took well over an hour. A similar experience was had with the collection of the in room dining cart, after waiting till almost 10pm, we just decided to fold the cart ourselves and place it outside. When it comes to Hilton Honors perks, as a diamond member we did get a nice room upgrade to a fireside room from a base room, which was definitely appreciated. Early check in was obviously not accommodated as our room was only available at 5pm, and late checkout was also only granted 1 hour until 12pm even though there was plenty of availability for my room type - which again leads me to believe that housekeeping is also short staffed. It's overall a decent use of a free night, but I certainly would never pay cash rates to stay here after this experience, it's just not worth $1000/night.…

My wife and I visited the Waldorf Monarch Beach resort for a weekend getaway. The room was in fabulous shape and the hotel team took care of our every need. My wife enjoyed her time at the spa and the pool and beach club facilities were amazing. We look forward to our next trip.

The property was impeccable, the service was right on, the grounds are beautiful, the beach club amazing. They will take you down to the beach club in an electric mini van. The beach has chairs umbrellas, etc.

Exceptional. A welcome escape into elegance and tranquility during the rough summer. My family and I came here during the peak of the So Cal fires this year and the Monarch offered a true respite from the stresses of life, and a reminder to enjoy the good things in life. Beautiful location, friendly and competent staff, great food and great experience. We are skipping the distance glamor resorts and spending more time here.
