Detailed Reviews
We booked this hotel through Expedia and are very pleased with our stay there.
We had booked a Double Room with Private Bathroom and our room was situated on the lower ground floor below the Reception, with a huge window and door leading out to the open fields.
The room was modern and clean, and it was also very well heated (the floor was heated as well!). The small window can be opened a little for better ventilation (we found out this is the way they do it in Iceland) without compromising the heat generated for the room. Although there were other guests on the same floor, it was very quiet and we had our best sleep after a very tiring day.
The accommodation has a prudent shoes-off policy, where you leave your muddy shoes at the indoor entrance, before walking through the corridor to your room. We had our bedroom slippers for this purpose.
Breakfast was sufficient and varied, with an assortment of bread/jam/eggs/fruits and wonderful coffee and tea. They also have a huge communal fully-equipped kitchen in a separate building across from the Reception, with free flow of coffee and tea.
Overall, we are very satisfied with our stay there, and can highly recommend this delightful place to others.

This was a great, quaint stay minutes away from Vik and attractions like Dyrhólaey. Not only was the location convenient for road tripping along Ring Road, but the hotel itself was incredibly clean and aesthetically pleasing. The service was excellent. Guests have to remove their shoes prior to entering, which really helped make the space clean especially after a day of hiking. I did buy the breakfast option as I felt it was over priced (17 euro), but did enjoy the complimentary coffee and tea.

A nice lodge with very friendly staff! Rooms are very spacious and modern. Buffet area features coffee | tea available at all times, and seating areas with nice views.
The breakfast buffet itself was very nice, with phenomenal croissants to boot!
Laundry services are offered, but are not typically available until the late afternoon/evening.
Vík is 15 minutes away, with the popular Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara beaches within close proximity as as well.

The least favorite place of everywhere I stayed in Iceland.
Positives: It seems recently renovated. Rooms and bathroom in the main(? there are tents and maybe another building on the property) building are modern and nicely decorated. Room had a TV. No shoe policy inside, so the floors are fairly clean.
On the other hand:
- If you don't have a room with an ensuite, there is one bathroom in the main building. Which is on the main floor, so next to the kitchen, reception, lounge, etc. So if you want to take a shower or otherwise use the bathroom, you get to jostle with everyone else, including the hotel front desk staff. It is not clear how many rooms do not have an ensuite (so share this one bathroom), but in the basement at the very least there are ten bedrooms. If they recently renovated, it would have been a good idea to at least put another bathroom on the floor with all the bedrooms.
- Breakfast not included, only available for an additional 1800 krona. It was the only guesthouse I stayed in during two weeks in Iceland that I would have had to pay for breakfast (I chose to not eat there). There is also no dinner on offer, so head to Vik.
I only recommend if you get a room with an ensuite, though given the breakfast situation I am sure there are better options in the area.

Everything was excellent! We booked a deluxe double room with private bathroom (room#13) and it was really great - you could tell every detail was designed with the guest’s comfort in mind. From the 100% cotton linen on a comfortable bed to the handmade mugs for tea/coffee and everything in the middle. I understand why some people asked for more storage but we managed with the suitcases just fine. There was also a wonderful common room that we used on a really rainy day to chill. Also very comfortable and well thought out. It’s expensive but you get your money’s worth and then some.

We booked this place during our trip on South of Iceland and absolutely loved it!
The decision was spontaneous, we just enjoyed the sunset on the beach and were looking for a accommodation close by. And it was one of the best decisions during our 7 days trip. The place is so warm and cozy, exactly what you need a after long outdoor day. Interior design is adorable. Staff friendly and very quick in responding.
The next morning I was so pleased to see vegan options on breakfast. Vegans will agree (and especially those, who love this morning ritual) that breakfast for us is something where we almost never find what to eat, while others enjoying all kind of cheese, ham and non vegan pastries from a buffet. They have 2 types of non-diary milk, granola and tadadadaaa a peanut butter. Isn’t it amazing?
You can also use a kitchen if you want to make your own food. Next day we were trying last minute to book the place again but it was booked out unfortunately and we had to stay elsewhere...

Do not stay here. Sylvia is the lady running this place and she is extremely rude and unprofessional. She doesn’t care about the guests and has zero customer service. We saw other people complaining and leaving as soon as we got there and we ended up doing the same thing. The wifi ONLY works in the kitchen so you have no internet when you are in your tent. The tents are so cold and there is only a small heater provided. We asked for extra blankets at first and she completely ignored our request. She called people names and god Forbed if you ever have to ask her any question she replies by quotes like “can’t you read the signs”, “didn’t I tell you already”… spend your money somewhere else unless you want to be treated poorly by Sylvia.

We asked for room with private bathroom. The size of room 6 fine. Very comfortable beds. But in the bathroom the shower has no dish and since the screen does not reach the floor, you flood the entire part of the sink and toilet despite the shower drain. There is also no mat with which to dry the floor. And obviously, you use a bath towel. Otherwise, if you use the dryer, you get electrocuted. We did not get breakfast because it was 17€ per person and we found it excessive (considering that we already paid 250€ for the room!!). We were allowed to drink coffee or tea.

The owners have obviously put a lot of effort into making the lodge special, including a nice sitting area with tea and coffee. However, we paid more for this lodge than anywhere else during our entire Iceland vacation and I can't say I see the value. Breakfast was not included (as it was in some other places), was not anything exceptional, and occurred in a very small crowded space. The room was comfortable, but tight, and our shower wasn't working properly. Overall, my impression was that this is a nice lodge in a nice location, but not worth the amount charged.

Charming and neat guesthouse with nice amenities. We had to re-schedule our stay a few times but the staff was always very positive, kind, flexible and accommodating. I highly recommend this place!
The guesthouse is also conveniently located for exploring Vík and the surrounding areas.

Hello Steph
I´m sorry we don´t have a Northern Lights, but we watch the weather forecast and northern lights forecast daily. We look for the clouds coverage and after 9 o´clock we turn off lights outside if we se there are good chances to she the light. Good cameras are also essentials to spot the green colour when the human eye can´t see it. I hope you have nice stay in Iceland if you choose to come.
