The site is nice near the sea but I cannot help but find it absolutely ridiculous to pay 8 euros each (9.5$) for a campsite without shower and with two dirty toilets (one of them clugged). I spent 20 days traveling around Iceland, this is the 2nd time I find no showers, but the previous campsite had clean and nice toilets and only asked voluntary donations of 200kr to use them. Nowhere else in Europe have I ever paid 8 euros for such poor facilities. Iceland really needs to review its campsites and bring them to acceptable standards for the prices they have.

Having just picked up our camper van we drove a few miles to the coast and parked here overlooking the sea. Early in the season and probably not officially open. Nice view and peaceful. Restaurant next door but didn’t try it though,

We camped here on our final night before going home. It is not too far away from the airport which was great as we had an early start. It is lovely being so close to the sea (very windy). We were lucky enough to see the northern lights when we stayed here and it was a beautiful place to see them!!

Amenities are small and basic (toilets, sink, but no shower), but it is located close to Keflavik airport, and has beautiful ocean views. Was very windy both nights we stayed there, be prepared, as the wind chill can make it feel a lot colder. We had a heated camper van and were comfortable, but one night the heat was broken and we really felt for the folks in tents, it was cold.

It is a nice camping space, sea is just around a corner, facilities are small with an outside kitchen and two toilets with hot water. There is no showers. Price is 1000isk, cannot get cheaper in Iceland. Owner will come around in the morning and you can pay to him. People, be nice and clean after yourself. If the sign says 'do not leave food', then do not leave food, or dirty cloths or old gas canisters ... At the time of our arrival the kitchen was dirty and messed up. Thanks to some tourists who just don't care.

Sleeping between two lighthouses with the most amazing sunset and sunrise will be one of my lasting memories. It was our last night in Iceland and I could have stayed forever. There isn't much in the way of facilities at this campsite but we liked it for that reason. The wind was not as strong as we worried about and even with a tent on top of the car and parked up against the sea wall we were not exposed to wind

Room Tip: We worried about the wind but we were completely fine even next to the sea wall.

A nice little campsite by the lighthouse with terrific view and little facilities (no shower) and reasonable price. It might be a good stop just after arriving because people sometimes leave leftover gas here. The older lighthouse now houses a small cafe. Otherwise Gardur and the whole peninsula is often skipped in the race to the capital (or airport) which is too bad. There is also a supermarket and a standard pool about 2 km away from the campsite. If it is too windy this campsite might not offer enough protection for a tent.

We were there in July, 2014. . Beautiful area on the ocean. It gets very windy at night. Sunset was amazing! Great area for car or tent camping. Lovely grassy area for picnics. Lots of tables. Restroom with showers. Wonderful area to explore with two lighthouses and a nice little place to eat.
