Blabjorg Guesthouse is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilstadir. It offers both rooms and apartments with restaurant and spa on-site. The restaurant focuses on local and healthy dishes with focus on nearby ingredients. The Spa has both inside and outside hot tubs and sauna. The apartments range from smaller studios to a big 3 bedroom apartment. The rooms have shared facilities. The guesthouse is located in a former fish factory and guests can enjoy lovely view over the fjord.

Very clean, beautiful view, relaxing spa. I really recommend it. We would like to have a private bathroom, unfortunately all sharing but we were surprised how organised and clean they maintain all. Great job!

Cosy guesthouse with comfortable room even if small. Some with sea view other not. Ask for the first. Clean. Bathroom in common as Usual in my exp of Icelandic guesthouses. Big kitchen to cook and eat also with big groups (we were 21). Wonderful spa: clean; inside and outside pool hot and cool. Small sauna. Breakfast ok. Excellent for the price and Icelandic standards.

This was our favorite place to stay during a 10-day tour of Iceland. The rooms are clean and comfortable; the breakfast spread includes tasty handmade items; and the view from the oceanfront hot tubs onto this moody, evocative village and the dramatic fjord is absolutely unforgettable. Really wish we’d been able to stay longer than one night.

Loved everything about our stay here. We rented the 2 bedroom, sat in the hot tubs, partook in happy hour, ate dinner at the restaurant, and enjoyed complimentary breakfast in the morning. The rooms were immaculate and the food was excellent. Although we would have loved an ocean view, we still enjoyed our time at the Guesthouse. The heat was a bit much in both the common area and in our room. But we were quickly able to open the ceiling vents in the apartment. Once those were open it was a peaceful nights sleep on amazing mattresses. The puffins are a 5-10 minute drive and you will be amazed at the amount of puffins in the area.

This place is remote and peaceful. I was very disappointed to arrive and not be able to take a shower until the next morning because there was no hot water. I was informed that if many guests take showers it takes time for the system to recover. I waited until 11 pm and still no hot water. Not ok in my book! The hot tubs and saunas were nice. The breakfast was good but the room was small and not sound proofed very well. The door locks were very loud and you could hear everything time a guest opened or closed their doors. The sleeping pillows were lacking and the guest house needs to supply firmer pillows or at least another pillow. We joked that the pillow was just a pillow case. There is a shared kitchen and coffee provided for guests but no milk for the coffee. When I asked about milk for the coffee they said I cold buy some at the store but it closed in ten minutes. The place felt more like a US motel not a guest house, the Alfa Cafe in the same town served us a wonderful dinner.
