Wow, can you get anymore secluded? We didn't see another car for the last hour of our trip to Borgarfjörður Eystri. The host Elisabet was very helpful showing us around the property. Washing machine if you need to wash a few clothes. Brand new kitchen in the apartment if you bring some groceries with you. The sunrise in the morning...

Getting there is difficult, the place is remote and the only road is a gravel road. The landscape is breathtaking, and this guesthouse is very nice. The breakfast offering is great. Unfortunately I arrived late and could not make use of the spa facility (not sure why it closes this early, it doesn't seem to need anybody to operate anything...).

Arrived late at Blabjorg, but I guess many do, nice welcome from the owner, quickly showing me around, I had sea view twin room, definitely worth that view. Being off season the spa didn't open until 7:30, which gave time for a meal at Alfacafe 10 minutes walk away, then back for the spa 2 hot tubs and sauna outside...

Pros: awesome northern lights, really nice hot tub, hotel was spotless, people who worked there were nice and accommodating. Cons: didn't like not having our own bathroom, wifi was not working, no tv in bedrooms, everything in town closed early (could not have dinner or anything to eat), the journey to and from the main road was absolutely awful. Did...

We had a beautiful view overlooking the water, waves crashing all night. The spa was relaxing indoor and outdoor saunas and hot tubs. Breakfast was perfect with homemade breads and jams. Dinner of fish soup at Alpha Cafe was delicious, but there is a shared kitchen if needed. Staff was lovely and this is a perfect relaxing spot!

We had an apartment here and it was spectacular. Sleek Scandinavian furniture, spotlessly clean a beautiful view and a good breakfast included. The location is spectacular. I don't know what the rooms are like. If you want to cook, the kitchen is well equipped. Definitely can recommend it.

The drive from Egglistador - probably spelt that wrong! Anyways it was a little hairy in the rain but you don't need a 4x4. But once your here it's well worth it. Owner was sooo nice, we told her we were on our honeymoon and a bottle of wine with 2 glasses showed up in our room. There are 3...

Well located, clean hostel. Half of all the rooms have a beautiful view overlooking the bay. The other ones have no view at all. So make sure your room is on the right sight. Good beds. Well equipped kitchen. The spa is a great addition! Good breakfast - make sure you try the home made apple rhubarb jam!

Stayed in the studio apartment for two nights and it was heaven! Pristine and modern, with a well-equipped kitchen and more than enough room for our family of five to spread out. They set up a cot for one of the kids and the other two took the sofa bed, while us adults took the bed which was partitioned off...
