Detailed Reviews
We were looking for a good base for motorcycle tours in the Cretan mountains and stumbled upon Aposeti Villas. Nikos and his family run this 4 apartment complex and the standard they set for themselves in terms of customer satisfaction is high. We arrived late - no problem. We weren't able to shop for food to make breakfast the next morning - no problem (Nikos' mother is an angel). The apartment is well equipped (washing machine, most kitchen appliances you would need, flatscreens with dvbt, SAT and DVD) and the apt complex is modern with 2 apts per swimming pool. The view from the pool/balcony is breathtaking (see pic). The family is welcoming in a non-intrusive way. They brought us little baskets of goodies like homemade pastries or produce from their farm/vineyard (wine, vegetables, raki, etc) and organized a voluntary evening to get to know the other guests and meet your hosts. Efcharistó Nikos, Ioanna and Georgia for your hospitality and lovely mountain retreat.

If you want to see the highest mountain of Crete and the valley below it and live in a tranquil place in a beautiful building, this is it. Very spacious and nicely decorated apartment with TV in many rooms. The pool outside is 7x5m enough to dip in and out - swimmable at least until early October.
All Petrochori you see in 10 minutes (church, many buildings in ruins) but it has access to Amari valley. By car you reach the nearest tavernas and grocery store in 10 minutes as well as hiking trails to the mountains. It takes about one hour to the beaches (Matala, Skinaria, Rethymnon) but this is the site to spend some time in mountains and culture stuff.

We visited the area because of the beauty of the nature. You can easily explore the tradition of Rethymnon, in villages such as Petrochori and the surrounding ones .
For the hotel...Cheap price, for the offered services.
Wonderful people, clean pools, great food (ask the landlady), great view.
Spacious and clean rooms, traditional furniture.
We had a great peaceful holiday, far far away from what we call "civilization"..
Batteries are filled up again

The villa was clean at the arrival but the keeper come only once during our living(1 week). Also the pool cleaned only once. There wasn't WC, so 5 people has to use a toilet. I had read about free wi-fi in all hotel and there was wi-fi only at the balkony when the wind was low, in really it was public with low(or none) signal. the view was exellent and the village quiet dead. At the end you coundn't pay by card.

The rooms were clean upon arrival. A cold bottle of water was waiting for us in the fridge. Each room has a flat screen LCD TV. Four beds in total. Two sofas and a dining room table were in te living room. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, glasses and silverware. All the rooms were tastefully styled with Cretan art on the walls. The view of Mt. Psiloritis was excellent from the balcony and from the pool below the apartment.
